  1. I've just got TOT wireless put on at home but don't have a pc to access it there. I'm trying to connect to the net via my iphone 4 but am having no joy. Any ideas? Should i speak to TOT next? I fear the language barrier in these types of situations will add hours of pain haha.

  2. Last night they were giving cars restricted access to Thapae Road around 6pm, and the road will be completely closed down once parade time is nearing. As suggested by WTK best to park in a nearby Soi/Road if you're driving. Only a few minutes walk away.

  3. 3 parades: 9, 10, 11. 9, lanterns mostly. 10, small krathongs. 11, big krathongs. starts around 7? from Thapae towards the river. third one always biggest / most colourful.

Any recommendations for the best spot to watch the parade with kids on the 11 ?

Plenty of room to move last night. Maybe bring some chairs and grab a spot on Thapae Road about 50/100 metres from the gate?

  4. It is not only Loi Kroh and Spicy, Reggae et al that is under pressure. The Night Bizarre is also under significant strain at the moment. If you have knowledge of the local area, and it's property owners, you might be able to join the dots and come up with a name. A post on the second page of this thread alluded to some of the motivation behind these actions.

  5. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. There's been a bike stealing racket happening down on Chang Klan this week. I'm sure they've moved on but it's a timely reminder to remain vigilant.

  6. I rode down Loi Kroh at about 8pm? and they were already on the scene in numbers, so the end result hardly sounds surprising. A shame what happened to Marco's crew but T.I.T. My Spicy visits are in ever dwindling numbers but i have noticed since the move that they are copping a lot of attention, as is Lucky. Perhaps the Police have moved on from this venture. It all seems in line with other opinions that post midnight fun is being minimalised. Adapt and survive people.

  7. Report from a mate that there was only a handful of people in there two nights ago. Looks like they'll need to do pull something special out if they want to relive the glory days.

  8. It's not inside Star 6, more off to the side in the entrance. The rooms are big and brand new. Normal bar prices. I guess compared to the countless horror stories you here about people dropping 5,000 plus in these places I'd consider it cheap.

  9. Disclaimer: I've met the owner twice. Ok people I think I've found what we've all been looking for! Last night while having a casual glass with some friends in the Loi Kroh boxing stadium I discovered that the owner of the bar has just opened two (brand) new karaoke rooms across the soi at the entrance of Star 6. I think we were the first ever customers and there was some kinks in the system as to be expected. The price was 250 for the first hour and then 200 for each hour after that. The English language songs are limited but we managed to fill out 2 rambuctious hours. And now for the kicker: no hostesses, no hidden fees apart from the normal bar price drink charges. So in summary, a normal non exorbitant karaoke place!

  10. but it amazes me how much info for an event comes up after its happend

tit .. i guess .. but its a shame more people didnt know about it until it was over

Agreed d2. So much good stuff happening around the place. Even with the keen eyes of TV I'm usually finding out about stuff in the final days.
