The last time you went for isolation WW2 erupted. And you are requesting that the US surrenders power over the five most influential organisations on the planet? Come on, wake up. -

Turkey is a historical fault line that people underestimate. It's in the Wests interests to tie Turkey deeper into our orbit. -

That's not true. NATO has supported US interests forever. I've watched US forces and NATO move in tandem many times. It's a sight to behold. -

I can't really be bothered getting into the Russian military debate. There's going to be a few other people on this forum who have a military background and don't just sit in their basement making up scare stories. But here goes: Conventional war only. Russia cannot defeat NATO. The notion is laughable and Russia has known this since at least 1982. I say again, the notion is laughable. The biggest con trick played on the Western public in my lifetime was the notion that Russia could invade and defeat our forces. Under no circumstances was that ever going to be the case. NATO always knew that the Russian military was dysfunctional. They knew because among other things, NATO were allowed to observe Soviet exercises in person. I know that as I, personally, witnessed Soviets inspect my troops position. The utter failure of Russia to defeat Ukraine is only a taster of how bad things are in the Russian military. They've already lost the majority of their professional army and NATO hasn't lost a single soldier. In my opinion, if Poland alone attacked Russia it would crush them. Only Poland. But from a conventional point of view, troops from Finland, the Baltic states, Poland, all.the way down and round to Ukraine invading Russia? Then in the Far East the US Navy and Marine Corps pouring in before Aliied support from countries such as Australia? The Russians cannot defend their border from NATO attack. It cannot be done. It's too long, too vast, and they don't have the troops numbers. It would be comparable to the Turkey Run in Desert Storm or the Shock & Awe of the Iraq War. Why is it a con trick? Because the amount of money spent on unnecessary military build up could be spent on improving infrastructure. US infrastructure is under real pressure, and it will take another 30 years for Europe to bring Eastern European former Soviet infrastructure up to standard. We've been lied to by the military industrial complex for years. Eisenhower warned us. -

I'll stick my neck out. Trump will offer Ukraine NATO membership if they surrender the Donbass. Russia gets their corridor to Crimea. Zelensky gets security and the end of a war that has mutilated his youth. -

Drivel. What do you think Trump could offer Zelensky that would have Zelensky prepared to surrender the Donbass. -

General Mattis refuses to talk about Trump. There's a podcast out there that explains why as a lot of military types look to him for guidance. Trump wanted the troops out of Syria. Mattis wanted them to stay. Trump ordered that they leave, Mattis disagreed and had chose to leave. They WH witness to events said Mattis did the right thing by leaving and not just slow walking the orders. Trump tells a story in the podcast that Iraq based generals told him they could crush ISIS fast but the Pentagon were slow walking them. Trump said "go ahead" and we know how fast ISIS folded. Mattis disagreed with the Commander-in-Chief and resigned. Kelly hung around to "bully" staff in Trump's words and undermine the President. If you are going to allow the Pentagon to set policy just don't bother with Presidential elections. Just pick a general and carry on. Good idea? Clearly not. Eisenhower would recognise this scenario, the neocon war machine looking for any excuse to rack up power and profits. -
Re the illegality of the 2020 election. I don't have any strong opinions and I do think some on the right lost the plot. However - I did agree and still agree that votes received after election day should not be counted. Four years later ( dear me ) the 5th Circuit Appeals Court agrees. Americans have the benefit of knowing years in advance when your Presidential election takes place. Many other countries do not. There's really no excuse for failing to return ballots before election day and even if the US Postal service loses your vote, so sad, too bad. This goes to Trump's point that the judges have an impossible task to review malfeasance in the voting procedures and tallies. It is impossible, and the Democrats felt that way when Al Gore lost to Bush. So nothing new there. https://www.reuters.com/legal/us-appeals-court-rejects-mississippi-law-late-arriving-mail-in-ballots-2024-10-25/

The casual way she demonstrates with the glee the "a swipe of my pen" to waste someone's life and a few weeks later drop the charges, with the damage being done already. Making people homeless because their handicapped daughter was being treated in hospital. Sending homicide and gang detectives to arrest the parents of truants. Evil.

Why Kamala Harris was always destined to lose
theblether replied to NickyLouie's topic in Political Soapbox
I was kinda hoping that Hillary would throw her hat into the ring. If only for the entertainment value of watching Lib heads explode. -
@Jingthing You're on ignore. My mum gave me a hard time for mocking the afflicted.

He mentioned that several US broadcasters benefit from "free airwave" usage as they have a remit to work for the US public good. They are supposed to be public service broadcasters who the US public can rely upon. We have the same system in the UK, people know that the BBC is the primary public service broadcaster, they don't tend to know that ITV also have legal responsibilities to serve the public. In the UK, licenses are granted with several conditions, those conditions can specify how much music a radio station can play, the maximum allowed time allocated to adverts, and most importantly - a minimum standard for news coverage. Already there are calls in the USA to punish network bias by auctioning off the airwave licences. From memory, the last time we did that in the UK the government were expecting around £5 billion and actually collected over £20 billion. That 60 Minutes fraud could end up being the most expensive mistake in US television history.

Go to 1:20 in that video and witness Kamala Harris boasting about being a family wrecking sociopath. "With a swipe of my pen......." Absolutely horrendous.

This advert is brutal.

I've only watched around 45 minutes of the interview. I'll finish it during the week. My takeaways so far - Trump is correct that the 60 Minutes edit/answer was not an edit, it was fraud. Not a single member of this forum would accept someone misquoting them, especially when the original was and still is publicly available. In fact, this thread has descended into exactly that - members arguing about edits. Never mind the edits. Go watch the whole thing and make up your own mind.

25 million views, 400,000 comments on YouTube alone. Add Spotify and Twitter, the numbers are incredible. The problem for the Dems is that they can't undercut what was said. The electorate can see it all. The second problem is that this type of coverage doesn't need to flip millions of votes. It's a sledgehammer move for the battleground states. I'm reading comments from people who have checked the "fine people" hoax and are enraged they believed that lie for years. This is easily the most consequential political podcast of all time. Fair-minded Democrats know that's true. The last seven days have been sensational for Trump, starting with McDonalds. You can't say the same for Harris.
