  1. Ukraine warns Russia advancing fast on key city as Parents are hiding their children from local authorities to avoid mandatory evacuation in the eastern city of Pokrovsk. Russia says it had thwarted another Ukrainian attempt to push into the border region of Bryansk-CNN https://edition.cnn.com/2024/08/22/europe/pokrovsk-evacuations-eastern-ukraine-intl/index.html Hiding children from Ukrainians in hope that they'll be liberated by Russia. The war is now insane but then all wars are.
  2. Probably the saddest thing I've read in this senseless war Kursk is increasingly looking like the death rattle of a dying nation. Without NATO going full in the war is lost. The people who were motivated to go defend the country, have already signed up. The people they are sending now, mostly don't give a damn what country they live in, it's just a place they live. They are not vested in the government, the national identity, or any of that other jingoistic crap that gets people without means, killed for other peoples bank accounts.
  3. https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-war-new-recruits-pokrovsk-ed2d06ad529e3b7e47ecd32f79911b83 This is what the cheerleaders are cheering on. No wonder any sane man is hiding from recruiters it's virtual suicide. Poorly trained recruits contribute to loss of Ukrainian territory on eastern front, commanders say. Some new soldiers refuse to fire at the enemy. Others, struggle to assemble weapons or to coordinate basic combat movements. A few have even walked away from their posts, leaving altogether-AP The recently conscripted Ukrainians are a far cry from the battle-hardened fighters who flocked to join the war in the first year of the full-scale invasion. The new troops lack even a minimal level of training, commanders and soldiers from four brigades defending the Pokrovsk area said. They described having to plan operations with infantry who are unable to shoot targets and uninformed about basic topography. Some recruits simply lacked faith in the battle plans of their superiors and walked away from prepared positions.
  4. Absolutely no one is winning the whole world is losing whilst the climate catastrophe is coming like an express train down the tunnel at a frightening pace. But Russia can probably take a lot more pain and bodies than any western democracy ever could and Putin's power still holds despite lies as to cancer, Parkinson's , body doubles and all the other nonsense that western media likes to peddle. They have nukes, a kleprocratic capatalist system and the world's largest country and mineral reserves and a huge ally in China and other autocracies they ain't dissapearing anytime soon.
  5. All in all, I just don’t know what Ukraine’s leadership was thinking here. It very much feels like a last ditch Hail Mary attempt. I think they know they’re losing in the east, with no real hope of changing that trend, and so they gathered whatever they could muster and basically said “<deleted> it, go in there and see how far you can get” in hopes that they might push deep enough into Kursk to warrant a major shift in Russia’s force posture. That didn’t happen of course, and now Ukraine has a lot of men and equipment bogged down in what I’m afraid is a suicide mission. I feel like the Kursk invasion presages the beginning of the end for Ukraine. Things are not going well in the east, Russia is not relenting with its aerial attacks, and I’m just not sure how much longer Ukraine can sustain like this. If (more like when) Pokrovsk and Sloviansk fall, I think we’ll be looking at the serious possibility of a Ukrainian surrender. If they keep fighting they just risk losing more territory. https://archive.is/FkVPm Still, the battle in Russia’s border regions remains in its initial stages, and the present pace of the Kursk incursion is giving Mr. Putin time to calibrate his response. Instead of weakening the Kremlin’s grip on power, the invasion may eventually cause more Russian citizens to rally around the flag, analysts said. The Kursk invasion “is certainly a blow to the Kremlin’s reputation,” Tatiana Stanovaya, a Russian political scientist, wrote on social media on Tuesday. But “it is unlikely to spark a significant rise in social or political discontent among the population, nor will it lead to an elite rebellion.”
  6. That the Russians are ruthless is beyond doubt FAB's and artillery are raining down on their own villages under Ukrainian occupation. Julian Ropcke remains very doubtful as to the efficacy or point to the Kursk occupation. Maximilising the positions post negotations seems the most obvious one. The Russians burnt down Moscow when Napoleopn approached and did scorched earth uner the Nazis. That's why you never want to fight them less you become barbarians yoursleves.
  7. Thanks I've been very busy on other things and haven't had time to study the many sources I use. This sober reflective article in the NS caught my eye. Kursk is high on hopium and PR but would probably prove irrelevant in determining the ultimate outcome of the war. There is a grim grind of now a seemingly endless war which suits western interests on the whole but is destroying Ukraine as a viable state in the long term - and Europe's biggest donor Germany is indicating that the bank is closing as they are out of money and politcal will to continue business as usual. https://www.newstatesman.com/international-content/2024/08/the-ukrainian-endgame https://archive.is/1TviU The diplomacy to end the war will take longer, but it, too, will take place quietly and secretly. And it will come as a shock to Ukraine’s supporters in the West, some of whom may still believe that Ukraine can achieve total victory, including the liberation of Crimea – maybe even regime change in Russia itself. The problem for Ukraine has always been that its Western supporters do not have a commonly agreed war goal. But, in recent months, this has been overtaken by a collective sense that support for a long war is flagging. From a military perspective, both sides’ stated goals appear unrealistic. My baseline scenario is that they will agree somewhere in the middle, maybe next year. There is still a lot to play for, but nobody will get everything they want. It will be a deal that will have no winners, yet one that allows both sides to claim victory. It will be a dirty deal, full of compromises, unveiled to the world as a fait accompli – much like a shadowy and unexpected prisoner exchange.
  8. Russia won't care about the sparse Russians in the border regions they are collateral damage. Never forget they burned down Moscow to prevent Napoleon taking it. There is evidence that UKR is digging in and intend to stay and if they do and are indeed as articles abpve have said the best troops they will suffer merciless FAB bombs raining down on their positions. Putin doesn't care about the optcis just the outcome.
  9. https://archive.is/7LGbR One Ukrainian artillery brigade commander in eastern Ukraine told the Financial Times that part of the reason for the Russian advance was Kyiv moving its scarce resources north. His troops were back to rationing shells for their canons — the first time since US aid to Ukraine was held up by Congress — because ammunition had been reallocated for the incursion into Russia’s Kursk region. Ukraine has also moved upwards of 10,000 troops, including many of its elite airborne forces and mechanised brigades, from Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, where the fiercest battles are under way, according to officials involved with the operation. Ukraine's position appears increasingly desperate and more and more commentators are starting to question the logic and practicalities of the Kursk incursion. Here's one from the distinquished Finnish pro-Ukraine academic taking issue with Tendar. Ukraine's public claims about territorial control in the Kursk region seem inflated when compared to the actual size of the settlements.Claiming to control 82 cities and villages in an area which has only one city of 6.000 (Sudzha) is internal PR. Coupled with recent troop redeployments, this raises questions about the progress of the eastern front. The overall outlook for Ukraine is grim. Economic challenges, including a substantial budget deficit, energy crisis, and declining GDP, are compounded by military setbacks. Shortages of essential supplies and decreasing Western support further exacerbate the situation. Given these factors, it is questionable whether Ukraine can sustain its current strategy. A negotiated settlement might be the more pragmatic path forward for Kyiv. https://www.economist.com/europe/2024/08/18/russias-double-punch-back-against-ukraines-shock-raid Evidence of an intensifying response inside Kursk is now clear. Ukrainian soldiers on the ground inside Russia say they are already beginning to see a different level of resistance. Losses are increasing. The Russians have reinforced with better trained units, including marines and special forces. They had studied the area. This belated Russian response to the incursion in Kursk has forced it to divert some troops from strangleholds inside Ukraine in the Donbas. Reflecting this, a Ukrainian government source says military activity in the Donbas has significantly decreased since August 16th. However there is a big exception: Pokrovsk, the town where Russia was making steady advances before the incursion and where it is seeking to maintain heavy pressure on Ukraine.
  10. No thanks - these protestors are causing mayhem at the moment. Brexit and the Tories gutting our polical system has in large contributed to this situation. The incoming Labour goverment is trying to sort this out as the adults in the room through international co-operation.Tommy Robinson and his ilk are the answer to nothing except stoking further discontent.
  11. Also what these far right types have done and if not hammered could be source of mass terrorism in this country. All Iran or other malevolent players have to do is send sleeper operatives over on the boats. Establish sleeper cells in the UK and at some point if war breaks out send truck bomb or a suicide bomber say into a nursety causing mass carnage. The furore and carnage that the save the kids groups could spark up doesn't bear thinking about and must keep the anti-terrorist police up at night. They may well get their race war and breakdown of law and order whcih they love to predict. And who would win - the foreign power for the price of a few thousand dollars. The ultimate dirty bomb. By hammering the rioters we take that option off the table.
  12. Losers blame everything and everyone for their fates. Thailand seems to attract more than their fare share who delight in the Britain has fallen trope. It hasn't and probably never will. Now having quelled the riots, it seems sucessfully is the time to go after the heads of the snake and that includes at the very head Elon Musk who has created a real sewer of misinformation and Tommy Robinson and his cohorts.
  13. These are 2 completely seperate acts justice for these poor girls killled, less we forget by a 17 year old Welsh citizen who happens to be black is ongoing and burning down towns, attacking msques, looting, provoking violent disorder have absolutely nothing to do with that case. That is just plain opportinistic thuggery and thankfully is facing the full force. of thr law. Watch Wesley Winter a British Chinese you tuber that has reported I think almost supportivley about the Tommy marches in London and the folks who go on them. He went to Middlesborough and saw first hand and recorded terrible acts of vandalism, violence and destruction of ordinary people's homes and businesses by masked up hoodlums intent on destruction. It shook him and his frightened girlfriend to the core.
  14. Please watch the judge summing up - it is quite clear about what they did and why they are guilty of violent affray and the fact that judges should and must give deterrent and punitive sentences. Riots must be stopped in their tracks.Period from wherever they come the peace of realm demands it.
  15. There is but it's off topic and complicated. Most muslims everywhere like most people are good people or that's the world I live in. Life is what you make it.
  16. Here we go again a stuck record of disinformtion. Sorry you didn't get your race war and anarchy old chap.
  17. A few mostly now muslim mafia that don't want the Thais muscling in on their stuff. We live in the UK now and visit her sister's family that live in the family house. I'm usually the only farang in the town. It is Thailand proper the British gifted it to Thailand so they could build a railway from Singapore to Burma after they had nicked their lands. It's not perfect but then nowhere is.
  18. My Buddhist wife comes from Yala which has 70% muslim population - I visit it regularly and often say the same when going to cofee shops and the like and gets a very positive response from the staff. But then I'm not a racist and wish to get on with everybody of good grace. It means peace be upon you.
  19. Thankfully in the UK we ripped out the Haiwaei 5G masts so we have a small window before the NWO puppets impose Sharia law and 15 minute cities. Tommy has fled to Greece now unfortunatley for him social media is fuelling his downfall. His threatening rant on journalists was something to behold.
  20. Did they cause mass damage and cause a riot situation en masse leading to a breakdown in law and order? This is the threshold that we are looking for here - the answer is no. So you can breathe easily and take the knee and put that dog whistle down.
  21. There is a riot situation - mobs have tried to set an asylum hotel on fire potentially causing mass deaths. The whole country is on edge - baying mobs are screaming hate, the police have a job to to preserve order. As the judge said they stayed and helped incite the mob from the front and when missiles were being thrown instead of going home, they stayed - rough justice may sometimes be necessary pour encourager les autres. Sir Keir has done a brilliant job with COBRA, the courts and the police in stopping a breakdown in law and order, As well as mass peaceful crowds protecting their communities from mindless thugs. Some of you here are so full of hate you would like to have seen anarchy in my country because apparently, you love it so much. Like hell, you do. Many of you live elsewhere and wish it ill from afar. Gay bingo goers have nothing to do with it. Don't go near a riot unless you want to be potentially classed as a rioter it's that simple.
  22. See sentencing live - beautiful to behold for the good citizens of the UK. Democracy, Justice and the Rule of Law - something that Thailand is sadly yet to experience. Justice must be done and seen to be done.
  23. If you assemble in a group in a public place with others that are likely to cause severe unrest or riot then the clear warning has gone out we will find you , we will prosecute you and you will go to prison. Short.Sharp.Shock. You have been warned. Anarchy or order - the British people and state have chosn the latter. Arise Sir Keir !
