  1. Just when you may have thought the daily news couldn't get any worse. Victoria and David Beckham have announced today, through their publicity machine ,that they have become Buddhists. It is thought that Thailand may soon be on the travel itinerary as they spread the word of peace and self awareness

Someone should tell Becks and Vix that they don't need to come here to spread the word about the virtues of Bhuddism as I believe 95% of the population beat them to it.

95% of the population are as much Buddhist as are 95% of the population of Christian countries are Christian.

  2. G'day,

What is this Demijon your talking about? I make wine and beer, I have made wine out of everything you could imagine, I found the nicest one I made was jackfruit, but there is a very important trick to making jackfruit wine because it has a certain amount of natural rubber oil. Horrible shit hurts your skin gives you rash and kills the yeast but when done right it is beautifull. Mango steen wine is nice too.

I'd like to make beer too.

Where can I find barley-malt and hopes in Bkk?

  3. Sea cargo to EU takes usually around one month.

Its' usually around 100 US for a cubic meter.

PLUS paperwork money for the first cubic meter.

Go to Pratunam and find one of the many cargo offices for

    details.

There are lots of them, walk into a few to see whats different.

  4. 120 km/h are you sure?

That was the Japanese Shinkansen or French TGV speed 30 years ago !

    Steam trains were that fast.

Anyway if they got trains with an average speed of 120 kph, that would be just fine

Would cut all routes by up to a couple of hours and would still not waste too much

    fuel.

  5. NGV bus explodes at gas station

    Source: Bangkok Post - 08 August 2008

I WATCHED A MAN HAVE HIS HEAD BLOWN OF WHILE FILLING A TANK, A SPARK WAS ALL THAT IT TOOK, A BOMB WAITING TO HAPPEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING OR GET LAZY, THAT'S WHY MOST CONDOS AND HOTELS DON'T ALLOW, IT SCARES THE hel_l OUT OF ME WHEN I SEE THE TANKS BOUNCING DOWN THE ROAD NOT SECURED PROPERLY, SHOULD BE HANDLED LIKE A LOADED GUN AND ALL SHOULD BE TRAINED ON THE DO AND DO NOTS

The reason why some condos don't allow LPG cooking gas ist money.

They want you to use electricity to cook as they earn from it.

LPG gas bottles are VERY safe. Don't confuse them with NGV (CNG) NGV tanks hold a MUCH higher pressure, hence the danger.

  6. You think all the taxi's arriving in Pattaya/Hua Hin have meters on? Maybe 1 in 1000 does...

Bangkok taxis do not use their metres for trips outside the Bangkok metropolitan area - which DOES include Nonthaburi, Samut Phrakan and Thonburi.

get out of the rear passenger door and leave it open, also leave the boot (trunk) open if you take bags out - it really @*#'s them off as they have to get out to close it!

Then you better make sure you're not standing in the middle of a soi with all your bags when that antagonized driver gets out out his cab...

??? Thonburi is very well a part of the "Bangkok Metropolitan Area"!

  7. In Bangkok there is a Ear-Nose-Throat-Eye hospital on the other side of

the river, close to where the southern bus terminal used to be.

They clean your ears with a little vacuum cleaner type of device.

It doesn't hurt at all and it doesn't make you feel "strange".

It takes only a couple of minutes.

  8. It is very simple:

Go to where they sell electronic stuff, Ban Mor for example and

buy a thermostat that plugs into a standard 230AC power outlet.

Connect the Aricon through this thing and place it where the tenants

can't find it, maybe in the wall, ceiling etc...

Set the min. tem. and you are done.

Will cost you maybe 500- 2000 baht depending on the thermostat.

  9. Yes, this granite is a nice idea.

I have use standard bricks, the little one for one baht a piece.

I put them right onto the floor of my gas oven and put the pizza

on top (pizza is first put onto a round tablet as the bricks are not

    even).

I have baked bred right on top of the bricks with good results too.
