I never questioned any of that.  I am merely trying to figure out how someone fires a bullet without a gun as claimed above.  Nothing more.

It is not hard to fire the bullet without a gun.  You just need to slam something in the back of the bullet that acts like the firing pin that is on the hammer of a gun, give or take some variations.  Now if the shell casing is not anchored, as it is when in the chamber of the gun, the bullet really does not fly off very well.  It takes a few milliseconds for the powder charge to burn and build up pressure and propel the bullet down the shaft so a bullet that is not anchored tends to not get the full effect of the powder burning high pressure gas.  Many people and kids have done stuff like wedge a bullet in a fence, hold the shell with a pair of pliers, or whatever, and then manage to strike the back of the bullet properly and things light off.  Just look at the back of a standard bullet and you should understand.   Not to mention all the types of Saturday Nigh Specials people rig up with some sort of spring mechanism or ram rod that does not look much like a gun, but they manage to set off the bullet.

Canada refused to pay for their protection while in Canada, so Trump's decision isn't unique. While they can have the protection from nine "royal protection officers" in the US, under US law they are not allowed to carry guns - unlike most Americans. PS: Meghan is a US citizen and should be able to arm herself (in compliance with California state, county and city laws).

OK.  Good point. So is she bringing Harry in on a spousal or K9 visa?

In Firefox, click on the icon with the 3 horizontal lines at the top far right to Open Menu.

Then select Add-Ons.  The Add-Ons Manager window opens > now type AdBlock in the search function.  And then from the hits select AdBlock Plus, which is the build-in add-on of the Firefox browser so no need for installing it, as it will be added automatically when selected.  The add-on has almost 10 million users, and works fine for me (no jumping anymore, no annoying ad-vids anymore).

thanks. yes the page jumping seems to have stopped. the constant "data transferring seems to be still going on and now and then the page does jump, probably when enough stuff actually transfers or is loaded. Thanks

I think that life long longevity is more to do with your genes than keeping fit, there are many athletes that have a shorter life than some of the couch potatoes. I have an irregular heart beat, calcium on the heart valves, had a cardiogram at the Sattahip hospital and the doctor said to me "you have good pump" I thought that'll do me.

My grand father smoked Woodbines all his life and it never did him any harm, mind you he was 27 when he died.

Yes genetics is a factor, but one can make things much worse or better by a lifestyle.  Sure some people live forever on Baloney and junk food.  No doubt about it.  But it is not the way to statistically roll the dice.

  5. Can not imagine how this is going to work.  Many foreigners and many more Thais have to get to their other places.  It is fairly easy to enforce.  Only one big airport.  Only one land bridge right?  Sea travel for smaller craft might be a little tougher to enforce.  But I am pretty sure some water travel, over to Myanmar are going to happen, and also some land over towards the south crossings, roads or not

  6. Back in 1978 in Rhode Island here in the USA we had a big blizzard.  It shut down the entire Interstate 95 and all local traffic.  54 inches of snow in my home town of East Providence.  State was literally shut down to car traffic for an entire month.  When the snow stopped, they had to start with bucket loaders, flat beds and one by one by one went down I 95 removing cars.  The air was never cleaner.  Not really a big surprise.  Our family restaurant and lounge stayed open around the clock in downtown providence.  I walked across the Washington bridge from my home, and through the bus tunnel in college hill instead of going up and down.  Kind of fun.  But would not want a shut down or lock down for much more than a week or two in this day and age.  I can afford it, but most people can not

  7. i get the jumping using firefox my browser.  At home I do not get the video ads, but at my work Pc I do get the ads.   In both I get the jumping and it is becoming beyond annoying.  The bottom line is I tolerate it for now because I get a lot of use out of the site that benefits me, but I hate the setup and the system and the site manager's attitude.  Similar to Youtube that now is very annoying and disruptive to use because of the ads they even insert into videos that one posts., all that means is I would  never pay for any service I see on the site. They are not endearing themselves to me or others.  I don't buy anything anyway so the ads are just a major stupid feature.  I am probably the worlds' worst consumer so their ads are wasted on me.

  8. "The telling clue came on Mar 14, when she withdrew B2.08 million from one of the accounts at the Bank of Ayudhya (Krungsri) branch at the Jungceylon shopping mall in Patong."

In the USA, in general, transactions over 10,000 USD require the financial institution to file a transaction form.  Does not necessarily mean something illegal happened, but they have to file.  For instance if you cash in 10,000 USD worth of chips at a casino, out comes the paperwork even if you have lost 100,000 dollars.

  9. I am not sure I would sign anything long term right now, even if one really was there on fully retirement, planned to stay forever etc.  While you may get some sort of discount rate, if other people do not rent the other condo units, maybe the condo owner will not be solvent and may close up shop.  While that may only mean you have to leave the condo, I would not want any piece of paper that says I owe money on a lease.

  10. Still able to work during the week as I am in the defense industry and we were deemed essential and could go to work.  But so much is closed there is not much to do and few places to go see during this lock down.  Luckily Bar Rescue shows are being run all day long.  My family had a place which is why I went to engineering school and ran away as soon as I graduated!  But I can attest to how bad and ignorant so many owners are.  I do not like all the yelling and drama the show "reality" often creates, but the filthy kitchens, bacteria bars, "home made" chile out of the can, are really like that in so many places.  Getting and keeping good staff is hard enough, being a nit owner/manager is worse.  How can a business still be in business after being down 200K USD?  What happened when down 50k?  100k?  Man, they must have nice bank loan managers.

  11. Boston Market food stores here in the USA are pretty tasty. Some are busy and the food turnover is good and reasonably fresh. Good choice of sides.  Got one here just down the road from Clifton NJ.  I may call them and see if I can do a takout later today.  Depends on which rerun of Bar Rescue comes on that I have already seen

I'm just going to deny all handshake offers moving forward, no compelling reason for us to shake hands. Maybe offer an elbow bump if I really like the person.

I have not liked shaking hands for a long time.  Grew up of course with guidance on giving a firm handshake, not a limp wrist.  But  Then everybody started hugging.  I like the Thai Wai.  I understand some of the tradition of higher and lower wai, similar to chinese and japanese level of bowing that conveys social order or heirarchy.  I do not care for any of that, but the simple Wai as an acknowledgement seems like a good and practical idea to me
