Voting is based on your last residence address in the US. No current local ID is needed. You could have lived there 50 years ago.

Voting yes, but gerrymandering and counting people in place x,y,z is an ongoing process and the census is used for that.

I couldn't believe the West resisted advising the mask, the only reasonable excuse given was that they may not be enough for everyone and for medics etc.

Yes, I am working in New Jersey not far from New York City and it was maddening that we could slow the spread and help flatten the curve if we wore masks, but they were not even suggesting people wear masks.  Granted the meds people need them, but by not pushing the use of masks, we no doubt sent more people to the medical people.

At work they mandated masks for one day, then the next day sent out an email saying masks are voluntary.  They did not issue masks until this Thursday!  I now have a N95 mask.  Was not able to find or buy any type of mask in any of the stores that are open, Wal Mart, Staples, Stop and Shop, Shop Rite, Target, a Walgreens, etc.

The previous weeks they encouraged people to work from home if possible, tried to stagger shifts to minimize number of people in the facility, closed the conference rooms to allegedly reduce groups,  etc.   In the cafeteria they now pre cook the food and put in to go containers, no self serve like at the soup crock pots, put up a plexiglass screen between the cashier, etc. But they do NOT mandate the cafeteria workers to wear masks.  So as they move around, change positions, come into contact with a few hundred people a day, their isolation and containment idea is total BS.

I can tell you that if you properly fit and snug up that N95 mask around your nose, it does inhibit air flow quite measurably.  I move around in the test lab quite a lot, moving LRUs on and off the bench, some wiegh 20 to 44 pounds, moving LRUs down to the Big Test Room, back and forth to the environmental test lab, constantly getting up and down several times a minute to adjust the signal generator or tune the spectrum analyzer, etc.  I would not go jogging with a genuine, tightly fitted N 95 mask, unless you were oxygen shortage training as some athletes try.  So I am sure many people have the mask on, but  not tightly fitted because it is a bit uncomfortable.  So yes it will stop a lot of spit, and mucous, but is not a tight air filter

The Census counts residents, not citizens.  So, expats aren't counted.

So they are not counted, but they are allowed to vote.  If one maintains some sort of home state ID, then they would be part of the districting that determines number of state representatives or even federal Congress representatives.  I would think some are expected to be counted, depending on the wording of the census form/question.  I often am not physically in my home as I work on the road as a contractor, so on the last census the questions as worded meant I was not counted anywhere.

I feel sorry for these people. Little or no education.

Without proper education it is possible for such stupid behaviour.

i feel sorry for the young innocents who are brought up in ignorance.  I feel empathy for the countries that get yelled at if they try to implement some sort of immigration policy that might limit such anti social behavior or beliefs or ways of life, whatever they are.  Why should a country not be able to expect incoming people to obey vaccination laws, general health protocols, etc?  If a certain belief or religion clearly is against a country's culture and even laws, then could that not be a condition for denying entry?  Not trying to enforce belief or way of life specifically but   are there limits?

Sir the name hooker is very crude...

I think a better name would be a "therapeutic personal assistant stimulation provider"

I call them tour guides.  They speak the local language, know the area, one that I knew had her own motorbike and she biked me around town on my first trip.  Another I knew on my first trip had a relative with car and he drove us around a few times, out to Nong Nooch, the one million year park, etc.  We enjoyed each other's company, at least I think we did.  I compensated them fairly for their time and expertise I think.

It's been suggested that Germany might have been reporting some CV deaths as deaths from underlying causes, so making their CV death rate look much lower, not sure how much truth there is in that?

The virus did not kill anybody.  People died from complications, heart gave out trying to push more blood to get more oxygen into the blood stream due to poor lung action.  Many deaths are often not attributed directly to a virus or other pathogen.  Many of the people may have died if they had a sever flu or rhino virus.  I bet their will be many legal battles popping up as people try to sue companies or workplaces or even cities or governments about being exposed.  And anytime law suits are involved, I can imagine contentious death certificates and people demanding special explicit wording on them.  There are billions of dollars on the line here so it is just a matter of time before legal actions start making the news

Doesn't this all defeat the purpose of notary, where you show up in person, with ID and the document to be 'notarized'

Damn, if thats the case you could make up a stamp and do it yourself

i don't think the need to be there personally is that strong any more.  With all the video conferencing call  methods out there, one could see the person and his ID. Now the physical document and NOT a copy or fax with original signature might be a problem.  There are digital signing things out there withing networks and systems, heck we at work digitally sign PDFs WORDs etc.  But not so sure that would work outside of our little enclave.  Affixing the Notary stamp/seal obviously is the de facto standard.  But maybe they have moved into the modern age and there is some more universally usable system out there?  Many places I have delivered notarized things to, end up copying them for their records anyway

You can just imagine, people never paid a penny tax, families registering in-laws that are imprisoned or been abroad for years..the list would be endless...but right, nothing ventured, nothing gained

In a somewhat analogous way, my parents always had their own business, a used car lot, then two restaurants and a lounge.  They never paid themselves much money on the advice of their accountant who said that money would just be taxed.  While true, it also meant they did not pay much into the USA's social security system.  A defensible position, if one then takes the money and saves or invests it smartly.  Well my parents did neither of course.  They got literally the absolute minimum social security benefit payout now.  So dodgers beware.  Actions have consequences.

  9. Now just imagine how many people around the world really had or have or carried the virus?  So many more than most officials assert as they only list the tested positive confirmed cases.  I think I read that Iceland has tested the largest percentage of a soverign population.  Unfortunately any statistics from that island may be a bit misleading as Iceland, is not quite the same as the USA or the UK or several other Nations that have large massive airports and had millions of travelers from around the world crossing their borders in recent months
