so look north what is there
I'm not sure, at least these days.
The map shows PM2.5. The winds are blowing into Laos and Vietnam.
Some days you get the 'exhaust air' from the powerplant Mae Sot
near Tak. But are there 'sources' in Isan too?

I dont know about air pollution , i never go out , isolated forever..
You're joking? - Splendid Isolation.
Some say, air pollution might be much worse than Covid.
Please pay attention that AC doesn't protect against particulate matter.
An air purifier does. A face mask N95 too.

Up North we enjoyed 'bad air' since December 2019 ?
Isan seems to be ok?
But, where does this dirt comes from?

I hope this too, OneeyedJohn.
However I'll understand you well.

In our village most men have guns. They like to shoot birds. Crazy.
(I'm happy they usually don't shoot at me.)
But they don't shoot horribly screeching roosters, incessantly cooing pigeons/doves,
at night barking and fighting dogs. - What they should!

... to tackle Thailand’s notorious air pollution problem.
CO2 is colorless, so cover photo correct?
Until now I haven’t seen CO2 measured in Thailand.What about PM10 and PM2.5?
Today, May 13 almost everything is 'fine':
The North, just one month ago, April 15 2020:
13 hours ago, webfact said:The aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and other harmful chemicals, from industrial and urban communities.
POPs:
Initially, twelve POPs have been recognized as causing adverse effects on humans and the ecosystem and these can be placed in 3 categories:- Pesticides: aldrin, chlordane, DDT, dieldrin, endrin, heptachlor, hexachlorobenzene, mirex, toxaphene;
- Industrial chemicals: hexachlorobenzene, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs); and
- By-products: hexachlorobenzene; polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDD/PCDF), and PCBs.
Good luck with this !

then I will spray around mine and my farrang friends houses.
I'm not sure, this would help?
It's a job for the authorities spraying the whole village.
Suppose, it's not useful to spray only one's garden, while
the mozzies fly in from neighbouring areas.

Do you know what was used for the spraying sessions
Sorry, no.
But I'm sure, it's something not available at BigC or Tesco-Lotus.
Noticed this perfume before at other places too, Hua Hin, ChiangMai, ...
Take care!
-
Sorry, I forgot something:
For every woman, child or man Dengue might be a very bad thing!
-
We used something called '15', available everywhere.
It comes as a lotion and as tissues.
I'm not sure if it's good for the skin, but it works.
Additional, as already suggested, avoid any place
containing water, flower pots etc.
You might too search here on Thaivisa: 'dengue'
A lot of information. May be too much.
5 hours ago, lelapin said:... in a gated village. The committee say they are not able to resolve the problem ...
May be some friendly asking could help? - Committee? - Village head?!
In our village it took me and 5 other people last August, after suffering from dengue,
to start a spraying session. They repeated that later twice.
It's a very bad smell, sure not healthy but it seems to kill the mozzies.
Better close every door/window! - Better close every door/window! - Better close every door/window!
After spraying no more dengue cases in our village, in our Amphoe.

Sorry, blazes, and you believed this until now?
Almost 60 years later I might tell you, Munich was liberated by American troops.
No Munich citizen had ever been shot by an American soldier. - At least as far as I know.
The Bahnhof-area, especially Goethestrasse had some music locations in the 60ies.
OK, bars, amusement etc. too. - What a nice bar owner...
Btw, sometimes I was able to visit a place like 'Palais de Dance' or 'Palais d'amour'
with friends to listen bands like 'The Swinging Bluejeans' etc. - Wonderful.
[early at night, at 9 or 10 pm, before the 'real' customers arrived]
Back to the main station.
But I did know the word "französich" that she kept screaming at us.
She thought we were French.....'Franzoesisch' means in German a sexual practice. No idea what she wanted to say?
Now some photos.

War is only cruel and usually not fair, even when there are rules of the game.
For me the most impressing words concerning end of WW II and the future
came from R. v. Weizsaecker in his speech of May 8 1985.Concerning modern times may I mention Queen Elizabeth.
My highest appreciation, Madam. - Thank You very much.
