Good question, VocalNeal.
I'm not happy with this table, but you might check it yourself:

Good read https://www.iqair.com/thailand/chiang-mai
According to the data shown on the IQAir website
taken from official PM2.5 readings, the quality of the air
in Chiang Mai seems to be getting worse instead of better...

Hi canthai, thanks for this question.
It is my private environment, I'm trying to change as a (friendly) model.
And there is for example thaivisa-com, who has some members who aren't afraid
but thankful to get timely information about the air pollution.
And - may be - one day there will be more awareness and activity to this
in the Thai population too.
Thai people are not so stupid...

Quite easy, don't click on ' this AQI stuff'.

Would be great for our region to have such support.
Rihanna and Beyonce and Greta555 warmly welcomed.
At least from Yom?
I don't think this must go on and on and ...

I don't really care about what happens to me next week.
OK. You don't care. It's your choice.
But there are other (innocent, unknowing, stupid, poor, ...) people, the young and the old,
living 4 to 6 months each year in this unhealthy air.
Not only some years, but usually their whole life...
Nothing is done about it in SE-Asia, Myanmar(?), Bangladesh, India, Pakistan.
Only China seems to improve. Really. - And not only today.

We had strong winds this afternoon, so the air
(and the numbers) much better now than in the table!
North of Phrae 40ug/m3 or AQI 112 -
while AQI 164 would be PM2.5 81 ug/m3

The air from northeast seems to be ok, while NW winds might
be very bad. - Anybody knows the situation in Myanmar?
A further explanation for the high AQI levels up north could
be the power plants Mae Moh/Lampang and Mae Sot/Tak.

This can be anything. PM2.5 not necessarily smells.

But not good?
Here is a small table from this morning, Chiang Rai Forum:
Feb 15, 2021
The winner today at 9 clock:
1. Lampang 129 / 189
2. Phayao 77 / 162
3. Phrae 76 / 162
4. ChiangRai 60 / 153
5. ChiangMai 54 / 146
Sorry, Bangkok. Only
PM2.5 29 / AQI 86
At night everywhere much 'better'.

So this is, of course, a coincidental connection,
a lignite fired powerplant with a lot of PM2.5-output
and the discovery of new COVID-19 cases.
