  1. Last time this came up, remember seeing he was heading up a special task force, which is to say a PR task force, intent on giving Thais a favorable impression. Thais don't seem so easily convinced, hence the play on his name, Jok, and now this article seems like an attempt to redeem him after a lot of jokes at his expense.

Otherwise, a tourist cop wouldn't be flouncing around up in Issan busting a Thai guy running a pedo website, any more than an Immigration cop would take it upon himself to direct traffic.  It's just not their rice bowl.

  2. Samsung A3(2016) ear speaker quit working for no apparent reason.  External speaker, system sounds ok.   Headphone jack ok.  Mic ok, other party can hear me but I can't hear them unless I put it on Speaker phone.  Same problem in LINE and Skype Apps.

Tried soft reset and a few other suggestions from Youtube videos but avoided a full factory reset as this "seems" like a hardware fault.

Is this a common fault?  Is internal ear speaker replacement a fairly straight forward job for most Thai phone repair shops?   Thanks.

  3. Seem to get communicable viruses less here than elsewhere.  The few noteworthy times we have been sick, it was a nasty strain that hangs on for a week, and just when you think it's diminishing, it comes back for a second round.

Another thing is sinus problems.  Never had a problem with this until we moved here.  No issues first 2 years or so, but in the last 3, get splitting sinus headaches, typically in the morning with bedroom a/c still on.  Seems to be worse in rain season, thought maybe mildew, etc.

  4. I had work phones issued to me since 1998/99 time frame, starting with the venerable, nearly bullet proof Nokia 3310.  When I stopped working a number of years ago, it was odd but also very liberating not having one or more devices on me 24/7.  I did get a nice SS A3(2016) at Doha Duty Free a few years ago, only because I needed to burn off a load of frequent flier miles.

I don't stare at it though.  In fact, the internet connection capability is disabled from the AIS side after I figured out the mystery behind my vanishing 12Call credit, brought about by their piss take with this "negative credit balance" nonsense.   Turns out they were charging for data use when my phone did daily tower pings, even though I NEVER had my phone's mobile data on.  ?    So yeah, even if I accidentally turned on mobile data, still no internet.  No problem with that.
