  1. AS Vietnam Vet and living in Thailand for 9 years...geez, guess this makes me grumpy 66 year old man..thing is, I am content and happy..I just see how people put down locals and they are not Thai...If a Thai were to be in the USA and comment about local Americans riding scooters wonder what the reaction would be to the Thai writing something derogatory about an American lady doing her thing. I am not Thai and as for "got Thailand all figured out" comment..no I do not nor will I ever have Thailand figured out..as a grumpy old man of 66 it is common sense just to be nice to people. So Nomad there ya go...I like the way you do the name calling and you haven't a clue who I am...I see a happy lady with a cool bird having fun doing her thing in a country I live in but will never figure out Thailand.

This is THAILAND & it is THEIR COUNTRY...let them do what they want to do..it is not for US to judge a Thai persons action..If this LADY were Jewish and an ARTIST living in NEW YORK CITY...her Scooter would be a 'work of art" and worth thousands...this scooter, which to me it is a Work of ART should be used as a ADVERT "to

do your own thing in THAILAND" She should do TV Commercials...I would rather see this type of news than 99% of what we read today....travel the villages of Thailand and see the "REAL THAILAND"...lots of folk art and humor...and PEOPLE WHO STILL SMILE.

Grumpy Old Man, you think you got Thailand all figured out do you?

What part of any comment before or after your initial comment did you see anybody putting down a Thai person or more specifically, the woman on the bike? What are you talking about? There is not ONE single bad comment about this woman in any of these posts.

  2. RIP ! A tip for Thailand is neve have a room with a balcony. Something bad always happens, its a well known fact !

I've owned an apartment with a large balcony for 7 years. Nothing bad has ever happened in any of the apartments in my condo. Where are you getting your facts? I think if you looked at the overall number of balconies to the number of balcony related deaths, the number of balconies will heavily outweigh the number of deaths.

  3. Rule #1 when living in Thailand. Don't trust anyone. He's been ratted out by someone who got close enough to find out that he had overstayed... they grassed him up. The Thai Police do not chase over staying expats unless they are tipped off. Still, 20,000's not a bad amount for staying 3 years over your visa but at the end of the day, it's not rocket science when it comes to doing the correct paper work and living a happy life in Thailand. Some people are too lazy.

  4. At the end of the day. Remember where you are, avoid all reason for a confrontation because you are in a completely foreign country and you don't know who you are dealing with on any level. People who might seem friends will turn on you, you can't trust anyone in a bar, if someone is giving off bad vibes, walk away, leave, don't let anything escalate in to a situation in the first place.

Be polite, avoid girls that are with other guys, enjoy your beer and stay out of trouble... and for all of those who can't abide by these simple instructions, take your violence or stupidity elsewhere. Leave Thailand to those who love the country enough to respect it.

  5. i would not generalize and say that people look like murderers but this woman certainly looks like she was capable of murder

Why does a 78 year old Need a 37 year old Lady? That is asking for Trouble due to the fact that such relationship is very unnatural, or would any of you guys here who are 37-45 sleep with a 78 year old Lady?

    Get off the internet.
