I love how the Thai government and many Thai people want foreigners to stay out of their business and they never want our help when it comes to planning and risk management. Mind your own business farang! But now the government is out hat in hand begging rich foreigners to move to Thailand to boost the economy because they are too inept to make it happen themselves. This is what global panhandling looks like. Pathetic. They make it hard as hell for foreigners to live there and Prayut and company have been on a sustained path of making it more and more difficult for people to stay without running afoul of constantly changing immigration rules. Now with the economy in shambles they suddenly need foreigner's help in the form of their money. It disgusts me frankly. And here's a news flash: The majority of well-heeled foreigners would NEVER live in Thailand with its unrelenting humidity, filthy streets, garbage strewn small towns and <deleted> infrastructure. The majority of my high-earning friends would never in a million years move to Thailand. It's just not that fantastic.

COVID is going to be with us for a long long time and the main vaccine producers do not have the capacity to make enough vaccine to inoculate the world. The more choices the better. If any of these pass clinical trials and can be produced, it will all help. For certain. COVID will be with us a year from now. It's never going away.

You are skeptical because you don't understand the science of it. But do you understand the science of any other vaccine or medicine you use? They developed fast because so many of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies started working on vaccines and threw all they had into it. Many failed. Many have never made it to clinical trials and you never heard of those efforts. The first people who were involved in the initial clinical trials got their shots more than a year ago. Still no long term effects are showing. And before you say one year is not a long term mind you after a few weeks the vaccines are no longer in our bodies. They have prepped our bodies to fight COIVD-19. No vaccine on the market has had long-term effects where people have adverse effects years and years later. Many vaccines including the COVID-19 ones have had adverse effects in rare cases but they happened shortly after inoculation.

U turns are deadly in Thailand, particularly when drivers inch out into oncoming traffic in hopes the oncoming drivers will be paying attention.. Nobody cares about nearly causing accidents and putting others and themselves in danger when they do that. I'm so glad I don't drive there anymore. 17 years of that BS .. Seriously? Their economy is a disaster due to COVID. So you think they infected the world so they could sell pills at the expense of their manufacturing and industrial complex? Their ports are carefully functioning. Yeah they tanked their economy sickened and killed untold thousands of their own citizens, shut down entire cities to sell pills.

Only for imported "things" People with long-term memory remember when the dollar was 40 baht against the baht in 2003 and things did not get cheaper as the baht appreciated, even imported good prices stayed the same. NEVER have I seen the price of imports go down when the baht appreciated. So your logic is incorrect.

How about the fact that so very very very few tourists are there to begin with and she was killed when hardly any people are there. The Swiss will perceive it as Thailand having become a much more dangerous place for women as the country is in crisis.
