  1. The only proof of "where" the money comes from is the normal letter from the SSA that you can get showing the monthly pension amounts, if that meet the total 65K per month. This is what I have been doing since 2010. I DO NOT have SSA do a direct deposit into my Bangkok Bank savings account. I have SSA do Direct Deposits to my US Bank and then I use Wise (new name for TransferWise) to transfer the funds I want to my Bangkok Bank Account. That way I do not have to pay Bangkok Bank any money for accepting the deposit and converting the funds into bahts. Having your Thai bank do the conversion is a ripoff.
  2. Besides what Ubon Joe indicated, you will need a bank letter stating that you own the account. And by the way, I know for a retirement extension the bank account is yours only, no 2nd signature allowed (there is a means of having a 2nd signature but I will not explain here now.) For a marriage extension, it may be the same, no spousal signature.
  3. www.thailandintervac.com is for foreigners. All you really need is your passport number. The big issue is "pre-registration" closed or not for the various sites.
  4. Make her pay a big fine (in the 11 years where she did not get a yearly extension where she should have paid 1,900 thb, or a total of 20,900 thb) and send her back to Hungary where she belongs.
  5. I too registered on the expatvac site back on the 1st of August. The site responded immediately that I was now pre-registered and needed to wait for the email with my appointment date and time, which has never come. I am 77 and just recently had open heart surgery (8 June.) My surgeon said it was okay now for me to get the shots. So, when a friend of mine had informed me that he already had his 1st Pfizer vaccination this past Sunday here in Khon Kaen through the thailandintervac.com site and had only registered several weeks ago, I proceeded to contact the Bangkok Khon Kaen Hospital about getting the vaccination. Said that the site had been closed but was re-opening again today the 7th and I could register. (They had essentially 80 slots available. I now have an appointment on the 12th for my Pfizer shot, 2nd one on 3 October. You have to wonder if the right hand knows what the left hand is doing and vice versa!
  6. Know why the "wife" was crying with happiness. Her sugar daddy was found!
  7. CIMB is not headquartered n Thailand. I think they are Malaysian. In Khon Kaen, we had our mortgage with them. They had one branch and 2 ATMs. Several years ago they closed their branch and one of the ATMs. So from a utilization perspective, I am not sure it is a good choice. Bangkok Bank is the easiest bank for setting up transfers from the US to Thailand. But you should really look at Wise.com as the best approach for transferring money to Thailand, best exchange rate and a very, very competitive fee structure, probably one of the best. Check it out.
  8. Not sure of your issue. I live in the northeast and have found the exterior doors as well as all the interior doors to be at least 200CM high doors. This includes resorts too. Maybe the entry ways in the old Thai farm village homes to be a little shorter but most farang don't spend any real time there. All the beds I have seen are at least 6' by 6'6" (king-sized).
  9. Khon Kaen Immigration. I do the 65K baht per month option for my retirement extension and have gotten the bank letter the day prior. They don't even look at the date on the letter, but they do want the letter, like it has the highest priority.
  10. Maybe the cement truck was too small for him to see, especially during daylight hours.
  11. I had a follow-up appointment at Queen Sirikit Heart Center. They contacted me the day before and strongly suggested if it was acceptable to delay the appointment for a month, currently too dangerous. Of course I accepted. My prescription refills were handled without having to go into the Heart Center.
  12. As of late Tuesday less than 30,000 had registered of which 22,000 were over 60. From all have read including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs notices, it is from the US donated Pfizer shipment. and yes , appointment notifications should start going out on the 10th or 11th of August. It is not only for US expats but all.
