This is what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket!  The key word here is diversify - treat all tourists the same regardless of country of origin.

That is an average of over 533 thousand per loan.  It takes a lot of money to maintain their elite status and life style - big house, fancy car, etc.

And just how does that inspire confidence?  Was the Frenchman heading up a criminal enterprise?  Was he endangering anyone through deeds or actions?

If anything it reduces my confidence in the efficiency of the immigration department if it takes more than 5 years to discover the wrong doing, and that only because someone ratted him out!

At least in Indonesia they have the foresight to quarantine returnees for 14 days once repatriated.  I guess they don't have a magician, politician, general, at the helm who has everything 100% under control!  I understand it takes about 10 days for the symptoms to appear so quarantine makes a lot of sense.

Perhaps, instead of buying a submarine, the government should provide suitable masks at no charge which would eliminate price gouging by unscrupulous shop owners.

I consider the practice of everyone eating from the same trough (bowl) as a dirty, filthy habit and I refuse to partake.  I will go hungry first!  What is most surprising is that the population survives after following such an unhealthy practice.  Another peeve and unhealthy practice is the whole neighbourhood using a common drinking vessel.
