I wonder if an in-transit layover for a few hours, say in Jakarta or Manila, etc., is classed as a visit?

they should think 'insurance money grab'
That was m first reaction as well. Closed for two months - no income - great time to destroy it and collect insurance!

Does anyone have any idea how much water is 'wasted' during Songkran? Many commentators on TV seem to think it is a tremendous amount - any numbers to back-up these claims?

“These standards are just a suggestion for making quality fabric face masks and therefore are not enforced by law,”
They are probably as ineffective as the dust masks commonly worn.

The surprise move from Kasikorn or K-Bank came in a directive issued from 5 pm yesterday and is because of the Covid-19 outbreak.
I suppose it is time they got into the money laundering business to ensure that all paper money is clean!!

For that price one could tunnel through the Canadian Rocky Mountains. A 14.65 km (9.1 miles) railway tunnel and associated works cost about CA$55 million per km (1989). This project comes in at just under CA$59 million per km

I love dogs, I have a small house pet, but, being a responsible owner she has been spayed, her vaccinations are being kept up to date so she will not contribute to the dog population.
It is estimated that there are about 8.5 million dogs in Thailand, of which about 730,000 are abandoned by their owners. Bangkok alone is estimated to have from 100,000 to 300,000 street dogs.
There is one answer - euthanization of all strays and unlicensed dogs. Limit ownership to 2 dogs per family. Heavy fines for those who defy the laws - maybe 5,000 baht.

That's a bit harsh; in Phuket you can kill a motorcyclist and keep your license without even getting a crease in your trousers.
But don't dare smoke on the beach!

Because the tourists want Thai prostitutes and are shocked when they find out, that the Asian girl comes from Vietnam and the black ones from Africa? Do they feel scammed?
The old adage "Variety is the spice of life" is not applicable here!

tourist arrivals sharply drop due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Wasn't it just yesterday when the TAT announced that January tourist arrivals were up by 2.46% over January 2019?

Maybe they need to have an actual plan? Instead of building more roads and highways and current putting drains everywhere which is a good thing but maybe have it lead and save somewhere? instead of flushing it all down the ocean.
Soon there won't be enough water to use the new submarines.

There is one in a "shop" next to Mrs BB's shops. Owned by quite a nice young lady. Most of her customers playing these machines are in their 20's.
Perhaps trying to win a cuddly toy for their underage girlfriends.

What an odd bunch of people it is that run this country.
Not to mention cockfighting and bullfighting.
