Here is the route I take in Google Maps : http://goo.gl/maps/RjzAx

And you can do the whole route via Street View there.

    Edit: 1 Added Ps.

Ps: If you plan on driving a lot in Thailand, I would recommend buying a Garmin GPS with the ESRI/NOSTRA map on it.

    For example: http://www.gpssociety.com/EN/Pages/productdetailfeature.aspx?SiteName=EN&Category=PND&ID=22

I must be old fashioned but wouldn't a paper map be easier and chaeper.

  2. In June 2015 the Ruble/baht exchange rate was around 0.961, and is now at around 0.859, more than a 10% drop.

Its likely that the Russian which are here didnt cancel their trip because of Draconian cancelation policies over there, and are now trying to spend even less to minimize the impact of this depreciation.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if the depreciation of the Ruble continues, and what will the impact on Pattaya would be.

It's at a 10+ year low right now. In 2004-2005 it was around 1.4. That's a rather large drop in 10 years.

Almost as bad as the Pound.

  3. I'll tell you why.

When this car was offered grey market only it sold for 1.8 million baht.

Once it hit the thai market for 850k it was considered a bargain and everyone wanted one.

Thais feel like it's a saving of 1 mb.

It is a lot of car for the money.

What exactly makes it "a lot of car for the money"?

Because it was 1.8 million before. wink.png

Anyone who was prepared to spend 1.8 million on the Juke obviously had a lot more money than sense.

  4. Tuskfish. With the Truevisions box you can output a standard tv signal. If you feed this into a DVR you can record the signal complete with any sub titles. You can then play back the signal through any monitor, tv or pc. I never tried to show elsewhere but in theory you can play back the signal anywhere using a portable hard drive. There may be copy right issues however if not for personal use.

Having said i have not seen a DVR for sale in Thailand for some time but they must be available.

  5. Thanks Paradise lost, will I still get hit with tax on these sites?

Not on Lazada.co.th you won't as it's a Thai business. I ordered a bunch of stuff from them last night and use them regularly.

Why do some items on Lazada show as "imported", like this Kindle reader. I presume that all the electronic stuff they sell is imported. Does an "imported" item get extra taxes added on.
