  1. The problem with the shuttle is it does not offer a service coming back from holiday (when you don't have an onward flight). I landed late last week at DM and had a hell of a job getting to Suvarnabhumi. I will never fly Air Asia again.

Surely that is like expecting them transport you to Heathrow for free when you land in Gatwick, just because it is near your house.

There are taxis and can't you pay for the bus?

Air Asia were obliged to bring you to Bangkok, didn't they do that?

OK i guess but they provide a shuttle service when you are going on holiday but not coming back, sounds crazy. I thought the service was provided as long as you had a flight in or out of DM that same day. In the end i paid for the bus to Mo Chit then got the BTS to Suvarnabhumi but it took much longer and i had to get the last bus to Pattaya. I don't mind paying it's just the inconvenience when the shuttle bus is going there anyway (empty).

So you believe they should provide a free shuttle bus for people wanting to get onto the Bell Bus to Pattaya?

PS There are buses to Pattaya from Mo Chit too!

NO i don't want a free bus. I just want a convenient way to get to Don Meung. If Air Asia can't provide it via a shuttle i won't fly with them again.

  3. I just sold my 135 Nouvo and was debating between a 150 PCX and the Nouvo SX. I had the same concerns about the size of the PCX in the tight traffic, and parking, in Pattaya. In the end i went for the SX for 56,500. I really couldn't see the benefit of paying an extra 25,000 for a bigger/heavier bike. Now if most of your riding is outside of town then maybe it makes sense.

  4. Expats will always be the easy target, they freeze the pensions, while

letting the riff raff of the world in, who seem to get everything no

    problem,human rights,you know.

    regards worgeordie

Not true at all. While there are some abuses of UK system, it's hard for riff raff to get into and settle in UK. They don't get everything, as you claim. I think you've been reading and believing too many scare stories. While many are true, they are more isolated cases than the norm. Try talking to some of these riff raff, as you call them, and see what they get. Nothing usually. They make their own way in life. The riff raff bleeding the UK dry and mostly British riff raff.

cheesy.gif ........................Thats why the pot-less are queuing up in tents at Calais is it, noooooooo freebies........cheesy.gif

They are queuing up to find work not to get freebies. They have a better work ethic than most Brits. Maybe you need to get back to the UK and talk to immigrants. You'll then see that 90%+ don't get any state help. Many start with nothing and still manage to make a living. Unlike many Brits who can't last a day without help.

So why don't they look for work in the many countries they pass through before getting to Britain. They don't look for work in France where they camp out for months. It's obviously because we are a soft touch.

  5. I buy all my pies at Friendship on Pattaya tai. They do a great steak/steak and kidney/pepper steak pie for 47 baht. They also stock the Yorkies (very small) pork pies at 80 baht.

  6. Menu looks reasonable, prices reasonable. I am more of a shaker now than a mover, being up a tad in the years. I'll give them a try. Anyone try the pizza, and do they know how much the Thursday special "all you can eat" runs?

I tried Frasers for breakfast and the 165 baht medium was very good. Also impressed that you get free coffee refills (good coffee as well).

I think the Thursday ayce pizza is 250 baht. But you can get a whole pizza for 200-220 baht anyway so unless you have a big appetite not sure you need to wait until Thursday.

  7. I have Gold Truevisions and 3BB 10 Mbps internet but am thinking of switching my internet service to True. They have a promotion now with Gold Truevisions, a 18Mbps internet service and iSmart/iTalk all for 2,599 baht a month. That's about the same as i currently pay for my current 2 services (1800 +590).

I am a little reluctant as 3BB does work (most of the time) and if i switch will True be reliable. On paper though it does seem a good deal.

Can anyone say if their True internet is OK. Would their 18Mbps service be any better that 3BB's 10 Mbps. Also do they have any restrictions on the amount you can download each month as i use the internet quite heavily. Their details on iSmart/iTalk are in Thai so difficult for me to understand but if it's free must be good right?

As already stated if you have a work permit you do not need a residence certificate... And of course visa versa.... No work permit then you need the residence certificate.... And I agree with the poster who stated do not hand over the money until the blue book is verified... And btw a DLT service agent can do that in a matter a minutes.. But then again if you like to spend hours standing in line and sitting in a non air conditioned building while they process your paperwork then you will enjoy your time at DLT...

Where does one find these 'DLT service agents'?

At the pattaya centre they are based across the road on the far left hand side. I sold a bike recently and they did all the paperwork for the buyer for 400 baht.
