The number of flights are still limited and the price is unbelievably ridiculous. This is a pipe dream in the short term, like most of the governments/TAT plans are in the last few years.
Plus China has prevented renewal and new passports from its citizens so Thailand shouldn't get too excited just yet.

It must be those higher order thinking skills that they are always trying to find. Also their ability to be easily cajoled into the pen, with the other "Larry's."

Hardly a compelling statement.

Well very late as usual in many ways and may have 'missed the boat' this year due to being far too slow.

Personally I don't think he ever can clean his name , especially after all that brought up. I am no star follower, so I don't give a rats about him or her but you are entitled to have a picture on your wall of either of them????.

What can we learn from Depp-Heard case
Both are drama queens and don't mind airing their 'dirty linen' in public. Personally I found the whole saga nauseating.

It wasn't that long ago (a few weeks) with articles saying that the housing market was doing extremely well and house prices were going up. I guess its another 'flip flop', when the truth is never really released, until way after the event.

Are Travel Agencies Making A Comeback?
Not at the pre-pandemic rate but articles like this will try and make you think it is.

The Thai authorities are already delighted with the numbers.
Sadly desperate.
9 hours ago, webfact said:The government is rubbing its fingers again as foreign arrivals to the country pick up hugely and tourism shows signs that come the end of 2022 it'll be full systems go.
Delusional.
9 hours ago, webfact said:The spokesman also said that the next normal is very different when it comes to the shape of tourism - it's far more about small groups, families and FIT - fully independent travellers.
Totally contradictory, yet again.
9 hours ago, webfact said:The numbers have been ballooned by Thai tourists taking to the domestic road.

These statements are an embarrassment to anyone who can write a poor persuasive argument.

A weapon of the highest order.

3 hours ago, webfact said:A check on the GCI site showed Thailand currently in 79th place for Covid-19 recovery, notes ASEAN NOW.
So basically a bare faced lie. i thought it was prison for spreading fake news?
Patting themselves on the back again for something that was NOT done and is untrue..
Maybe it should read that Thailand was #1 after 78th on the list. A more accurate reporting????

If anyone was trying to bring Durian into my back yard I'd be trying anything and everything to stop it!!!
I agree with you but the Chinese love for Durian is something to be seen. When in the shops they push, shove and grab it like it was the last fruit left on earth. A comical sight.

13 minutes ago, webfact said:“These borders have been opened for a while now but the problem is that there is still a lot of traffic in Youyiguan, Dongxing, and Mohan because of China’s Zero Covid policy,” Sunchai Puranachaikere, the President of Thai Fresh Fruit Traders and Exporters Association, told Thai Enquirer on the phone.
Also the draconian way they are treating foreign goods with blasting of UV light. Plus the lorry drivers don't want to take the goods to places such as Shanghai and other lockdown areas as they have to do quarantine in their lorries, boarded up, no washing, no toilets and harassed for Covid tests daily.
Can't blame them.

I will not be buying a ticket either until the nonsense changes but you are right they really don't want tourists. its all hot air that they talk.

I will believe it when I see it. Thailand has consistently 'flip flopped' its decisions all through this pandemic and shows just how incompetent the people in charge are.
As use as a chocolate fireguard.
The words could, maybe, possible, might, potentially are always used.
I want to see, are, will, definitely and when it has happened before i get excited.

Go back and read what you said. Here is a clue. This is nonsense. People stayed in Thailand from China because they couldn't go home to other countries without restrictions.
Thailand implemented precautions long before any western country.

Even if that was true (show me the stat) that doesn't matter the fact was Thailand did not close its borders to China when many other countries did and blatantly knew about the virus.

2. Really...poor education? So why nearly 100% of the population would wear and still do wear masks? Thailand knows a thing or two about Viruses etc see HIV, Malaria, Dengue...plenty of experience
3. Nobody could get all the vaccines they wanted, even India denied the UK the Astra's they promised them in return for being able to manufacture Astra in India. The privately ordered Pfizer jabs were delayed multiple times due to external issues and not Thailand's fault. The Chinese Vax's were all that was available at the time and quite rightly like any intelligent person they thought, better 50% protection of something than 100% of nothing. Obviously you with your medical degree knows better huh
4. Please show me evidence that the testing rate was 'abysmal'.
Thanks
We have a difference of opinion.
1. It was serious and at the time Thailand ignored closing the borders to China in early 2020. Do your research.
If you don't think that the 'voodoo' excuses for not getting COVID as i mentioned is not a lack of education then there is no point in going on. trying to defend the indefensible, please. The mask issue which I didn't mention by the way is not something that was widely adapted early on and in many ways even now. It is not like in China where I am, as the 'sheeple' have worn masks due to the air quality and as they are told too.
For number 3. ???? Do you work for the current government. They were slow in ordering them, very slow and rolling them out.

People seem to have short memories.
Thailand kept the borders open to the Chinese where COVID started when many other countries didn't and had the attitude of it won't affect us.
The country had a very slow vaccination rate.
The public had and still have in many ways a poor education on COVID with the believe in 'Hokus Pokus' that ' Pad Kapao, Smoking, Ginger' and many other nonsense prevents you catching it.
he country procured the vaccine very slowly and obviously when they did mostly the ineffective Chinese brand.
The country testing rate was and still is abysmal and is a testament to the handling of the situation.
The country had until recently draconian rules if you catch COVID.
So if the WHO are praising the country/Government they really should add dementia to the list of symptoms.

Yes I agree. I know I am stuck here. Also this is the narrative here in China. https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/CX9jlEmBhx066hHzDcVjdQ
Cai Qi, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Beijing Municipal Committee delivered a report on Monday focused on the future development plan for the capital during the 13th Beijing Municipal Congress of the CPC. Regarding COVID-19 control, the official stressed normalized COVID-19 control in the capital, and that Beijing will unwaveringly stick to a "zero-COVID" policy.
This guy is not a vendor on the streets. So China getting back to normal in the near future, is highly unlikely
