At least you are getting it. Very soon I have to return to Oz to get it and stay 2 years minimum if I want to make it portable.
I had to go back for 2 years at 63 to qualify to get the pension and the return back to Thailand which is no problem , the current basic pension living outside Aus is $1,721.20 per 28 days giving 13 payments every year .

And yet the government continues to push people out (ME Visa) who have spending power to help with this crises but Thai logic says well they didn't do their 90 day exit/entry requirements (borders closed) so out they go .

Maybe he should try suing the Government for closing the borders making him lose so much money LOL .

That's "his" money, he "deserves" it.Maybe he expects them to pay for all the food and alcohol that he hasn't bought and nobody is going to eat or drink .

The flu vaccine does not stop people getting the flu. Why should a covid vaccine be any different?
I always got a flu shot and never got .

This is definitely not me im just an age pensioner who cant afford the 100,000 + baht it will cost to go back to Australia . The biggest cost in returning is the hotel quarantine in Sydney at $3,000 . Then travelling back to my home city Perth .

Totally agree with this thinking and so should any tourists considering coming to Thailand (or anywhere ) in the near future until at least a proven working vaccine for all and a very large percentage of the world population has been vaccinated

Its the same everywhere here and yet they insist on pushing out expats who have ME Visas simply because the borders where closed talk about cutting off your nose etc etc etc .
As i said in a previous post there was a simple fix and was allowing them to do a 90 day at their local office until either the borders are reopened or get a new visa when its time . Maybe this was just to simple or logical for them to understand .

Not for long having a ME Visa means having to go back because they closed the borders and didn't think of an alternative like going to the local office for the 90 day stamp .
Already used a 60 day extension and they wont give me another .
Looks like i will have to go somewhere until i can get a flight out , certainly cant afford the commercial airlines wanting over 40,000 baht for a seat in economy .

Due to the corona virus and economic downturn in Australia there will be no increase to the pension this month the first time in over 20 years . However those living in Aus are going to get a $25 a fortnight covid payment until at least December and those of us stuck or living overseas get nothing .

If the ministerial order (aka amnesty) is not extended beyond the 26th of this month you will have to apply for a extension of stay of some kind.
Already used my 60 day before amnesty , been in and asked if they could possibly help giving another and they said no and told me to get a letter from my Embassy to which they said no to my circumstances .

You can do a 90 day report in person up to 15 days before or 7 days after report date including that day in the count.
Maybe the officer was suggesting you go in early to get you one year extension stamp and do the report at the same time.
I have never heard of the online 90 day reporting system asking for a work permit. Perhaps you ticked a wrong box some place. I suggest you try doing it again.
I must say that i am still totally confused about what is going to happen about my ME visa and not being able to do their requirements of exiting and entering due to closed borders after getting my visa in January this year do i need to apply for a new visa or what ?

What would happen if a ME Visa holder turns up at a border after they open them do do their 90 day and why didn't they just allow them do use a local office while borders are closed or is that just to logical for them to understand ?

Why isn't his Embassy helping him getting a flight back to his country on medical grounds , its one of the things they are here for and should be doing all they can to make it happen .
From everything i have read about the British Embassy here they are an absolutely waste of space and dont seem to want to do their job just get paid for being here .

Thanks Cheryl , according to the Aus Embassy flights back to Aus are very hard to get a seat on with some people applying 4,5 and 6 times and not getting seat so even if i have to leave it could take some time to actually catch a flight .
Unfortunately i am from the west coast and flights are only going to the east coast so even more problems when i do get back .

You can do an in-country one year extension (with financial requirements). When to do it depends not on when the visa expires but when your permission to stay expires, this will be shown on your last entry stamp.
Ok so would it be possible to change to a tourist visa and take advantage of the 30 day extensions ?

If you are married and have family here is Thailand why not apply for a Family visa? What visa re you on now? I recently renewed my visa No problems. If you are on a Non Imm visa then you would be expected to renew that visa in the normal way before Sept 26.
I have that visa which expires on the 4th January 2021 and is a ME O Visa .

However, those who are unable to return home due to lack of flights or other circumstances in their home country must present a letter from their home country’s embassy or consulate in Thailand requesting that the foreign be allowed to continue to temporarily stay in the Kingdom, Gen Pornchai added."
So, as long as your Embassy issues you a letter, anyone should be able to stay for an extendable 30 days
I contacted the Aus Embassy and got a email reply as follows
Visa Letters:
Given how difficult it is to secure a flight to Australia, the Embassy has decided to assist in issuing letters to support people applying to extend their Thai visas. It is not the role of the Australian Government to be saying who should or shouldn’t stay in Thailand, that’s up to Thai Immigration; however, given Thai officials are reluctant to make these decisions without our involvement, we have decided to issue the letters for two categories of Australians:
1. If you are transitioning from a short term tourist visa to a long term visa, Thai Immigration generally want a letter from us to allow you to do so. We are happy to do so as long as you can show us evidence that you’ve applied for a long term visa; or
2. If you have had flights booked and cancelled, your next flight is after 26 September and you can show us evidence of this, we will also provide you with a letter to support your visa extension.
So any other reason such as the one i was told by my local im office because i am on a ME O Visa valid till 4th January 2021 is not covered .
If i am forced to leave Thailand because they closed the borders making it impossible to exit/re-enter and get a 90 day stamp then i will definitely never return , to my wife and home + family and F them all .

No Increase to Aus Pension
in Home Country Forum
Posted
You can go back 2 years before retirement age to qualify or go back just before and wait 2 years to be eligible to get the Pension and be on Unemployment (about 2/3 the money) for that time , i chose to go back early to qualify so i could come back here soon after receiving the Pension which i did after having to have a knee operation .
