  1. Does KBANK require a Work Permit to open an account? I have a Non-Immigrant O with retirement extension. Both Tanachart and SCB turned me away with no WP.

i just recentley took most of my funds out of bkk and opened an account with KBANK after being refused a debit card to use my money so walked out . didnt need a wp just my passport with 1 year non imm o visa and my bkk bank book as well as my yellow book and after i got my new card went to atm and applied for debit and immediately got an answer of approved and now use my atm card for online debit as well . great bank and will close bkk after songkran when its safe(safer) to go out again.

  2. I pay 120B/month for water and 3.5B/unit for electricity. I pay 3000B/month for a 60 sq. meter duplex. I live surrounded by forest, good neighbors, and peaceful rice fields.

The "exciting city" is only an overnight A/C sleeper train away (or a 45-minute flight away), but my tolerance of that rat race can span no more than 3 days. Come to Isaan where life is good and affordable. Of course, each to their own. thumbsup.gif

Yeah right........the OP is talking about South Pattaya.

    Where is Isaan?

its where most of the bar girls are from so never need to go

  4. The ABAC poll, conducted by a research centre at Assumption University, surveyed 969 foreigners in Thailand between Jan 15-30

what a pathetic attempt at a survey millions of tourists come here every year and this small amount can in no way be an affective representation of the influx . maybe if the study was done for a year it would be more representative of the people coming .
