<1. I do not want to spend the rest of my life jumping through endless hoops to be able to live in Thailand. Too much stress.>
Spot on - especially when trying to do things legally. For four years... my attempts terminated three years ago. Cheers- 4

The 102 bus from airport runs very close to Thai embassy (google [Rapid Penang bus route 102] or somesuch). Turn up at embassy early (as apparently they are only processing 100 per day), well dressed, and with all the required documents (including flight and 'hotel booking' details). Most bus routes run via Komtar, the building over the central bus hub. From Komtar, you can catch the 101 to the Jeti (ferry jetty to Butterworth)- this goes through little India where you can look for less-expensive (not necessarily cheap) accom. AA

Have a fully furnished (wifi/hot water etc.) 2brm ground floor unit in Innisfail, 90km south of Cairns. Would like to swap for ~ 3 months, somewhere close to the coast between ThungWuaLaen and Ban Krut. May - Aug is cool dry season in tropical Australia, but this town is always green (3.5 metre rain annually), good fishing (apparently), no soi dogs, people can be redneck... Can send photos. Thanks for looking, AA

I came across similar in ThungWuaLaen ~ 3 years ago. Calf of some cetacean, often chewed up by other marine denizens before being washed onto shore.

If anyone wants the latest windows 10 insider preview (English/US) installed to their machine, i can do it for FREE. Takes ~ 3hr. You will need the 25digit licence/code on the back of your machine, to activate it. Have installed this numerous times over the past year, to machines with ENG/THAI keboards. Install in EN, later can install additional languages.
MS doesn't mind because win10 is offered as a free upgrade (but not for much longer), saves them bandwidth when i install from a usb.
I am near centre of PrachuapKiriKhan town, PM me if interested. I sympathise with TV members who pay good money to dodgy comp shops. AA

Herein is a link to a downloadableThai/Eng rental agreement, just what the doctor ordered: http://slice-of-thai.com/rental/
Cheers, AA

HHin office out-to-lunch 1230-1330 each day.
Copy of rental agreement, photocopy of house owner's Thai ID card (signed by owner, with telephone number), to help with address change.
Lately HHin has told a few people living in A.M. PKK 'come back tomorrow' - maybe make contingency plan in case you have to confront reclacitrants. AA

This problem can occur when the drive is not held in place sufficiently tightly/securely, and the machine is physically moved (or a gamer becomes overly excited). So no harm done opening up your machine, dusting the contacts, and resecuring the bracket (or whatever) that holds the drive in place. AA

Check also where cars have been driving over lines, people playing petong, neighbour's buffalo ran across your property, lightning struck etc. AA

Easy for you, just report online 15-7 days before your 90 days is up using the link below (practice when you have free time):

Anyone progressing with this? I am signed up to the windows insider program, got the latest win 10 preview build (14296) following instructions here:
Tried to follow suggestions here re. getting bash with an older win10 preview***, but no-go:
http://www.hanselman.com/blog/DevelopersCanRunBashShellAndUsermodeUbuntuLinuxBinariesOnWindows10.asx
***[Running some older win10 preview version on a 32Gb ssd, connected via SATA/usb3 lead to a usb3 port of the laptop.
I will have to create a bootable usb version of 14296 (using rufus or win-to-usb) on another usb, then wipe the 32Gb ssd]
Happy tinkering, AA

SMS to anzac-istan cheap as chips/free. If you need to call, dial 0050061..... (with 12call SIM) 3 baht/minute. AA

Once you find it, Rclick it's icon in the taskbar and you have the option to pin to taskbar. Taskbar is better than start menu - the latter a dog's breakfast IMO. AA

Thx for prompt advice, AA

Hello all,
my non-O visa on the basis of retirement (Australian passport) expires in late August.
I don't wish to extend for another year, maybe just 30-90 days (I have withdrawn my finances from Thailand).
Is it possible to 'extend the extension' in the 30 days prior to visa expiry, by paying 1,900 baht + showing departure ticket?
Mant thanks, AA

Might be worth aquiring a (cheap) ancient computer running WinXP, and trying that.
I have two different BlazeTV dongles, they wouldn't speak to Win7, but work well with a 13 year old Dell running XP. AA

please post a link to DLoad the .iso. Thx, AA

I bought this
last year 6.230B. Used sporadically for a month, left Thailand and used heavily for another month, then it died (maybe 2Gb RAM was inadequate).
I am sure a replacement could have been arranged if I were still in Thailand....
I guess the thing is, whatever you do, get a replacement guarantee when you buy. AA

Entry to Malaysia in January 2023, are there still health insurance requirements?
in Malaysia Visa and Immigration
Posted
I have Australian passport (thus eligible for 90 day visa-exempt entry). On 28 January, the 90th day, of my first entry (31 October), I caught komuter train to Padang Besar, walked 2km from rail station to Malaysia Immigration. I asked for further 90 days, was told to stamp in to Thailand then stamp out. Half an hour to do this, then walked back to Malaysian Immigration, was given further 90 days. No requirements for insurance, proof of funds etc. Immigration officers in both countries were very polite. I had a photocopy of Xray of orthopaedic surgery performed six month previously, possibly this promoted some sympathy from officials of both countries.
