  1. The device can function with one single home screen.

The original design idea, I believe, is that additional icons, above and beyond what could fit on one screen, overflow onto additional home screens.

If additional screens are emptied of icons then the additional screens can be deleted ...leaving one single home screen.

Icons can be moved from additional screens by (1) deleteing them (2) moving onto other screens (3) cascading them together into folders.

Yes I think you could create identical shortcuts (icons) on each screen BUT!! why would you want that? It's becuase you always want the required icons to be at hand, right? Well doesn't " one single home screen" do just that ?

A = Your proposal is not in accord with the functionalty of the software.

  2. I had the exact same problems with a Z series VAIO running Win 7x64.

The backup made within windows failed. I think it's because Sony do a non-standard partition setup... I think it's something like 100MB System, then mostly C Drive, but with multiple gigabyte hidden on a third volume for "VAIO Recovery Center" to do a factory image which includes the bundled Media Apps. It's to do VAIO Care (My old laptop had it on a button).

A regular Windows DVD will, on a blank hard disk, make a 100MB hidden partition and then use the rest as the "C" drive.

So the error occurs when Windows Backup can't apply a 3x parted backup to a 2x parted disk.

Oh, for advance options, on startup, it's F8  https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/17419/windows-7-advanced-startup-options-safe-mode

Now I use Reflect. Much easier. It works!

If you had backed up the Vaio (Factory install) with Reflect then you'd be able to restore. Sorry, I know that's no use now.

  3. All my previous issues with razor burn and ingrowing hairs stopped when I ditched multi-blade razors.

I'm shaving with a old school double sided safety razor and using "Rapira Platinum Lux" blades (mail order from Russia on eBay).

The wrapper design looks USSR, but they are consistently sharp, and I find them better than Astra platinum blades.

I use each blade once before disposal.

  4. I suppose it'd be foolish to take my advice when the airline staff can represent themselves...

Did you consider sending your clothes separately, including a Commercial Invoice and photocopy of your passport with each (three) copies of the Airway Bill; listing the items as "personal effects" ?

Having worked in shipping myself this is the information most customers would provide with their belongings so the Customs Agent (i.e DHL) can dismiss any charges. The idea being that you show your passport to the Customs Agent on collection so they can release the import as non-commercial personal effects.

Signing the Commercial Invoice under the following statement "These are my own personal effects which I've owned for at least six months." would simplify the release in many countries... although I have no idea about the UK!

If they still demanded complicated forms then I suppose you could just pay the tax on the value declared within the Commercial Invoice (which should list yourself as both importer and exporter.) https://www.ups.com/gb/en/help-center/packaging-and-supplies/export/comm-invoice.page

Your wrong.. Already saw companies in Pattaya  that will Rent to 20 and 21 year olds but not 19

Yes, you're right... some companies do allow rental to younger drivers (21 y.o) according to

    https://www.thailandstarterkit.com/travel/car-rental-thailand/

A few years back I remember seeing 1 or 2 cars (Vios) for rent,

mom and pop type business, close to the Pattaya Tai / Third Road junction.

Why not walk along Third Road, from Pattaya Tai to the top of Soi Lengkee, and have a look for hand written signs ?

As the legal age for driving in Thailand is 18; these "indy operators" might be your only option.

I think you can also find small rental businesses on Soi Bua Khao.

  6. I traveled with 3 cases, on Malaysia Airlines, BKK to Heathrow, as follows without any interuption or extra fees;

Case #1, 15Kg, - 2 x HD monitors, motherboard with cpu and ram.

Case #1, 15Kg, - 2 x HD monitors, all cables with other bits and bobs.

    Case/Bag #3, 7Kg, - clothing (carry on baggage)

(note; a personal bag / vanity case with food etc can also be taken on board)

I packed the cases with custom-fit foam. I bought the from an upholstery shop on Sukhumvit.

When I transfered at KLIA, I was a bit worried that I'd forget any fragile tape, so I talked to the staff... When I got to Heathrow my bags had "Hot Transfer" tape over them, whatever that means? Anyway I cannot fault Malaysia Airlines.

  7. It will vary between something like 100ms to Asia and 400ms to Europe.

You could ping the following IPs?

    3BB DNS Server; 110.164.252.222
    CAT DNS Server; 61.19.245.245

...and then add 100ms for the 4G element.

For the speed bandwidth there's a speedtest results database here https://testmy.net/country/th

For remote desktop you can double the ping result to know the "real speed". For europe, or even the USA, it's going to be a RDP experience with a whole second (1000 ms) delay.

Personally, having used TeamViewer between a CAT Telecom cable connection and a UK ADSL desktop, It drive me nuts and was very jerky so I can't imagine it would be much fun over 4G ...unless for an emergency.

In which city is your remote located ?

  8. It seems to me that the couple were probably quite hungry and wolfed down the fishcakes quickly.

The fishcakes were probably small and, going by the total bill, probably expensive.

I imagine, at that stage, the couple both felt unsatisfied, almost cheated, and tried to "negotiate" leaving the restaurant without paying.

They might have felt that walking-out would send a clear signal of their dining-experience to the restaurant staff/owners.

Obviously they did order main courses, further; telling the staff they'd pay for their main courses.

I imagine they did this for two reasons.

    (1) They didn't want to appear as cheapskates. Appearing as cheapskates would have diluted their clear signal of dissatisfaction about the small and expensive starters.

    (2) They were still hungry. In ordering mains they were being allegiant to own their argument about the small and unsatisfying fishcakes!

At this stage, from the customers point of view, the staff might have floundered and offered the starters "on the house"...

However, the staff didn't make such an offer. The customers might have felt the lack of any outreach in finding a comprise was most irregular. It's at this stage the seeds of the "culture clash" were probably sown.

The customers had no choice but to "chow down" on their mains and probably felt as if they were being made to eat humble pie.

The seeds of the "culture clash" had grown, via the phantom "humble pie" into a venomous plant. Now the battle ground was set.

The customers, in polishing off their plates, only believed they were arming themselves with righteousness.

What! were they to falsely appear as customers who didn't really have healthy appetites to satisfy?

Grasping the sword of their unresolved indignation they took the position, after considering the well priced mains, that they wouldn't be paying 100% of the bill total. The owner didn't accept this.

    Quoting http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/rude-xenophobic-restaurant-customers-eat-11474643

The owner then called the police, but as soon as the operator picked up the couple fled without paying any money towards the bill.

“The woman had told other customers we were rude, but those customers came and gave me a hug afterwards,” Ms Manmaunjun said.

  9. Enjoyed the track selection but I believe the broadcast is suffering from, what is known as, "amplitude pumping".

This occurs when the audio limiter/compressor dynamically changes the amplitude.

The problem is that it makes the music sound convoluted... underwater or like an echo chamber.

The 15-second mp3 file should make it clear.
