  1. a) That's what the scientists told him. b) That was before the (public) data showed all the adverse events and poor efficacy. Now, everyone and their dog is trying to distance themselves from the mandates, if not the mRNA's themselves.
  2. I'll be that the readers of only CNN and MSNBC don't have a clue what the autopen controversy is all about. I Bing searched "biden autopen" and they aren't even in the first 5 or 6 pages of results. I'd Google it, but that's blocked here... I don't think the autopen is an issue as much as whether Joe even knew it was being done. I recall a discussion he had with Mike Johnson where he wasn't aware of what he had allegedly signed. He flat out denied signing it. And I believe him.
  3. You can't have it both ways. If it's not a mental illness, there are a myriad of treatments and benefits that aren't available through insurance or gub'ment program, and the patients can't afford the care they need and deserve. If you call it a mental illness, you're a transphobe. I'd rather be called a transphobe and see patients get the treatment they need. How about you?
  4. Kinda curious. Now that they have a flyover, do they really need that elevated pedestrian crossing? Or can pedestrians now cross at grade? Dollars to donut holes, it's a temporary glitch- an intermediate construction stage. Excellent fodder for Thai bashing, though.
  5. I'll let you know when I get to Bangkok tomorrow night. I didn't actually test it, but I was pleased at the time it took to download a bunch of YouTubes.
  6. I bought mine less than a month ago. True. Unlimited, 15mb/sec and 2990 for 12 months. For 100gb/ month limit, it was 2290. I splurged... The kiosk I bought it from (with the router) suggested True. And it's working great. I even downloaded some YouTubes on the train to Kanchanaburi in the middle of nowhere, just to try it out. I didn't expect it to be so effortless while traveling between towers. The OP is looking for a few months so it should be much cheaper.
  7. Get the phone service. You'll be glad you did. It's cheap, And it'll pay out the first time you're walking down the street and need Google Maps or want to find a nearby attraction and find out what time it opens. Or want to see if your taxi is about to get delayed 30 minutes in a traffic jam. Or... I actually bought a pocket router on my last visit to Bangkok, mostly because the hotel wifi was so spotty (but I do stay in cheap hotels). All in, with a one year unlimited data SIM was 4200 Baht, with 2990 of that being the 12 month data plan. Well worth it, to me anyway. The hotel wifi kinda craters when occupancy is high. Edit: In my mind, the question is whether to buy the plan at the airport, or in one of the zillion shops around town, and which plan to buy. Someone else will have to chime in to answer that one. And if you choose the wrong one, you haven't spent much. Caveat: wherever you buy the phone plan, they'll need your passport.
  8. Compared to the bad old days, Swampy has really upped their game across the board. In 23 consecutive monthly visits, I usually wait less than 5 minutes at immigration or security. Only once did I wait more than 2 or 3 minutes for a taxi, last month when the ticket machine was broken. It was just like the bad old days of 30 minute queues for a taxi. I do wish they'd install more seating in places where people do have to wait, like for our flights, downstream of security and immigration. But I suppose they want to herd the passengers into the overpriced eateries.
  9. Are they for eating or making jewelry? Collecting shells is a big (and nasty) business in the Southern USA. It's mostly a cash business (according to Forensic Files), so it attracts some shady characters. He wasn't collecting shells, but I lost a good friend in high school when he got tangled up in some roots while he was snorkeling in fresh water. He was an excellent swimmer, and the highest IQ in the school. Just bad luck (and no buddy).
  10. So would I. But not 8 hours of it. This thread got me thinking about all his hits that I can recall. There's some good stuff back there. Though I wasn't a fan of his theatrics, his music was great. And even his theatrics were tame compared to what's followed.
  11. Mark my words here... Next, the MSM will blame Trump for the massive increase in auto thefts and carjackings as the TdA and MS13 newcomers arrange their rides back to the border to avoid ending up in El Salvador.
  12. As I read it in the right wing press, the 5 deportees that brought suit are still in the USA. The judge overstepped his remit by including all the other deportees who weren't named in the suit. Judges can't proactively make rules. They're only allowed to rule on what's been brought before them. Score another for Team Trump. Keeping campaign promises. Edit: I'm open to being corrected. It is a fast changing story.
  13. According to TIME magazine, Bukele is (arguably) the most popular leader in the world. And I think the citizens of El Salvador are pleased with the murder rate dropping from over 100/100K in 2015 to 2.4/100K in 2024. That's better than 47 of the 50 US states. Ya gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet.
  14. Gotta love this response from the President of El Salvador: Bukele posted, “Oopsie…Too late ” over a New York Post headline that reads, “Fed judge orders deportation flights carrying alleged Venezuelan gangbangers to return to US after Trump invokes Alien Enemies Act” Today, the first 238 members of the Venezuelan criminal organization, Tren de Aragua, arrived in our country. They were immediately transferred to CECOT, the Terrorism Confinement Center, for a period of one year (renewable). The United States will pay a very low fee for them, but a high one for us. Win-Win.
  15. I must be jaded. My first thought was "that's a luxury condo?"
  16. Thomas Sowell said it best. There are no solutions. Only compromises. If Making America Great Again means a few less tourists, that's a good tradeoff.
  17. I posted this in another thread, but I think it bears repeating here, to put Jan6 into context: I read an interesting website looking for some stats about the Summer of Love... 8700 protests during the period, with 3,692 involving illegal acts. 574 involved violence. 100 in one city alone. 2,835 incidents of looting, 624 incidents of arson, including 97 cop cars burned. 2035 LEOs injured. 16,241 arrests, but most of them quickly released. And they keep pointing at Jan6 which lasted, what, maybe a couple of hours? And so appalled even the righties that it never happened again. Versus 8700 times... MCCA-Report-on-the-2020-Protest-and-Civil-Unrest.pdf After-Action Reports on the Riots of 2020 | Police Magazine For those who refuse to do their own Googling, that's the Major Cities Chiefs Association, of police chiefs. (And I do apologize that I can't seem to get live links to work.)
  18. No. Unless the lefties unleash another summer of love and mostly peaceful city burnings. But the MSM will spin some of his executive actions as some version of martial law. I read an interesting website looking for some stats about the Summer of Love... 19. If anyone sees Ana Kasparian wandering around, let me know.
  20. My heart sinks whenever I see a Thai beggar with a tiny kid that's being dragged along as a prop.
  21. He was going for the George Michael look, during his Wham days. https://coolmenshair.com/wp-content/uploads/georgemichaelmediumlengthhairstyle.jpg
  22. Get a mirror and keep telling yourself:
  23. You may want to consider the possibility that companies who sell cement cocks also sell cement tables. They're all over Thailand. No use telling you about one in Chiang Mai if you live in Hua Hin. Shipping charges alone would be more than the cost of getting one locally. Another guy asking for advice, then insulting the people who could give it to him.
