"He has requested municipality officials, social workers, doctors, and NGOs to help provide aid to these homeless people and resolve the problem of human trafficking"??? So rather than the Ministry doing what needs to be done, they are asking other organizations to do it so they don't have to spend 1BT or do anything to help?

Having OTHER inmates keep an eye on them? Yeah, that's going to work!

Well, as an American, I am not sorry to see her leave. I am sure there are many things that go on behind the scenes that we do not see or hear about, BUT....... from what I have gathered, she is more of a socialite than an embassador. Her photo ops, are what we see in the newspapers and on TV. Nothing substantial has ever been reported about her. Maybe she is being moved, because she is ineffective, to a highly paid desk job in DC where there is more opportunities for social endeavors.
Kristie Kenney began her duties as the United States Ambassador to the Royal Kingdom of Thailand on January 8, 2011. A career senior Foreign Service officer, she served as the first female United States Ambassador to the Philippines from 2006-2010. She began her diplomatic career in 1981 and her overseas assignments have included serving as the U.S. Ambassador to Ecuador and in positions at U.S. Embassies in Jamaica, Switzerland, and Argentina. For the last twenty-eight years, she has been married to Bill Brownfield, who is currently the Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics, Law Enforcement and Crime. (http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/ambassador.html).
Looks to me she has been moved around a lot!

Sentenced to death, yet released in 10 year? TiT!
-
HMMMM! Not a very good photo of her this time. She looks tired and stressed, Maybe rather than just doing photo ops and HISO cocktail parties, she is actually having to work and perform her duties as an Ambassador. That really must tire her out!
-
OH GOOD GOD!! When are they going to learn NOT to announce surprise arrests and raids? Just give the criminals to get out of town. TiT!

100% Agree and yes I'm an AMERICAN.
Me too *and yes I am an American as well. Kinney is absolutely useless except for all those photo ops she seems to get in. She is only in the position because her husband is high up in the State Dept.

Really hate to laugh, but it is funny that the shoe is on the other foot. It is usually the farang that is getting scammed and nothing is done about it. BUT, if you are stupid enough to stay 14 years without a visa, I guess he deserves it.

FUNNY how she can find the time to go to the EC meeting but cannot find the time to go to court to represent herself in answering questions!

Under the proposed new legislation, much more severe fines for late night opening, ranging from between 60,000 and 200,000 Baht, would be issued to venue owners who are caught breaking the rules.
Is it me or what? The caretaker government CANNOT pass legislation or does the police have a right to amend laws without legislative approval?

Do foreigners qualify for this scheme?
Foreigners qualify for NOTHING in this country other than to pay for their visas and spend money here.

He also told them that bloodshed is inevitable if the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Constitutional Court unfairly hand down rulings against Yingluck"..........
I would definitely call this a threat and inciting violence; unless the court does what he says!

Should also get rid of street vendors in those same areas. Whenever you get out of a car or even bus, you can't find the opening to the sidewalk because of the crowded vendor stalls.
And the stalls on Silom are either getting bigger or they are moving them in more on the sidewalks. There is barely enough room for one person to walk here now.

1000bt is NOTHING to most of these people because they can just make it up on the next few fares!

A "mass rally in Pattaya". I was there yesterday and saw a parade of about 15 vehicles. That is a MASS RALLY? (of course on the highway coming back, I also saw 4 trucks broken down on the side of the road) :-)

"Let me stress that NVDD does not organise any armed group as it has been alleged," Mr. Suphon told reporters, "We only arm our members with intellectual weapons".
-
The UDD represents democracy, one vote-one person, if they use violence-it is to that end. the PAD/PDRC on the other hand-which is what the military is aligning itself with-are fascists, they want to end democracy in this country and have it ruled by an elitist dictatorship, the fascists are trying to create divisions.
You certainly do like using the word FACIST don't you?

Any exporters who fail to report their rice stocks within the deadline will face penalties liable to five years imprisonment and/or a fine of 5,000 baht.
So the exporters are being threatened but not the corrupt government officials that caused this farce!

After all these months of the anti-government protests, it would be SO IRONIC if it was the Red Shirts that toppled the Shin Dynasty!
