  1. People bitch and moan about Suthep and the SHUTDOWN! But very little is said about these idiots stirring up the violence. I also notice that the PTP is not saying anything either. He (the shooter) must be getting his orders and payment from the desert far far away. Unbelievable how this level of terrorist behavior is tolerated but if the "yellows" ever did this, authorities would be out in mass hunting them down. IMHO!

  2. What does that mean?

    "The British are coming"

Could it be that the British were known as the Redcoats? What happened to the Redcoats?

It certainly doesn't apply to the revered Suthep.

Also might be because the " Brits" all running there to make sure the get the beers in before the kickoff.

That is unfair. Bad form! Most British people are infuriatingly neutral. Why insult them? I am American. I do not dare to judge an entire people, because I do not have that right. But you seem to think you have that right. Idiot!

Charlatan! Liar! Stirrer of black pots! I know this will probably be deleted in five minutes, but I do not care. It was a very bad post you made. It was racist and unkind and scurrilous, and false. Most people from Great Britain are not living at Soi Cowboy (they might visit there, but who wouldn't?).

You, sir, are a dumb ass. Great Britain has made more contributions to the world than the language (which was a great gift). I like people from the UK, even when they piss me off.

What is wrong with you people? I do not see this as being insensitive, judgmental or rude. It was referring to the Paul Revere poem in American History regarding the British coming to Massachusetts and Revere rode around the countryside chanting, the British are coming. These British soldiers were known as Red Coats due to their uniforms. So the reference to RED here is OBVIOUS!

  4. i think all political parties should be dissolved before the election

candidates should be presented on their own merits

they should not be able to declare an affiliation to any political party past or present

no colours of any party's can be displayed

all should wear just anonymous white shirts

voters will have to take an interest in the candidate then instead of just blindly voting for a person of colour

you forget to add the 500bt payment for voting :)

  5. The former outspoken MP of Thai Rak Thai party was later escorted to the detention area of the court pending bail for temporary release.

Guilty. Sentenced to jail. Temporary release???????????????? bah.gif

As an attorney, I will never understand Thai law. If you are convicted, found guilty, sentenced to a jail term and THEN only held temporarily for release on bail? Isn't that the wrong way? Convicted, then bail, then jail once found guilty. TiT

Yes there bail system is in many cases not understandable.
Especially in cases where the offender has confessed in the first instance, to get a soft sentence
For example, the verdict comes as 2 years in jail.
Then he can go against the judgment in appeal.
And then he is free again on granted bail.
Crazy, coz the offender has confessed.
Normally, the minimum penalty must provided, written in the Criminal Code, for an offense to be served.

The already dismounted jail time would then be transferred to the new judgment.

But here they let the self-confessed criminals run free again, until the final judgment is spoken.
So if you have enough money you can go here by all instances, even if you have confessed in the first instance!
This happens here in many cases also with self-confessed murderers!
A very sad case of this bail system was the killer cop from Pai,
who first shoot a tourist dead in a bar with many Eyewitnesses.
The court released him on bail!
Later on, - free on bail - he kills then his wife.

YEAH! It gives them time to run and get out of the country so they don't have to serve his sentence. There are foreigners in Thai jail that have been there for 8 years, have never been indicted, no trail but just left there to rot! OI!
