I can happily report that I have just completed a transfer from my wise sterling balance to my thai bank in 9 seconds so whatever the problem was it appears to be ok now.Personally I try to avoid thai holidays and the day after if possible although it may have been an internal wise problem this time.

He said the quiet bit out loud. This is not news to those of us who have known for years that the brexit vote was driven by bigotry hate xenophobia prejudice and little englander nationalism.Pathetic really.

Do you think it only fell against one currency?A weak pound affects every Brit.

For some reason the brexiteers are unable or unwilling to accept the scale of the damage they have inflicted on the UK.I clearly remember going to bed on the eve of the brexit vote in 2016 when the baht was 51 to the pound and waking up a few hours later to find it was 45 when the dust settled.I could have cried.

Brexit - it puts the UK out of trade and 4 to 10% economically worse. The rest of the world is suffering from inflation ,energy crisis etc etc but the UK threw the baby out with the bat water.
You've nailed it.A staggeringly stupid mistake to make.

How did they find out about where he was living or did someone bubble him?
The way some posters are openly admitting to fraud on this forum there is no need for anyone to 'bubble' anyone..

I get both my UK state pension and a company pension paid into Wise with zero problems so far.I am also one of those mugs or honest ones depending on your moral compass who has told the DWP I live in Thailand.

This proposed change that started as a rumour has not even been remotely hinted at anywhere else but this forum,if anyone has a link to a UK media source please post it because if there is any truth to it thousands of lives British and foreign will be devastated.Although I think it is probably an unfounded rumour with this government anything is possible.

Always found Jomtien helpful and efficient IF you are well prepared.I once overheard a falang in Soi 5 asking an IO for advice about a visa and when the IO asked to see his passport he replied it was at home!

One last thing...
As long as you are receiving a pension at 5 April, the end of the tax year, your pension provider will give you an ‘end of year certificate’ P60. This might be given to you electronically, rather than on paper. This shows the total amount of tax they have deducted in the tax year.
Thanks for all that info very helpful.

If I was you I would contact HRMC by either phone or online ASAP. If you delay all thats happening is that you are building up a large sum to be paid in bulk when they get round to sorting it. When I got my State Pension also in April I had to pay £150 a month extra tax. I already delayed like you and when I contacted them 4 months later my pension was reduced by £600 for the next month to pay the back tax. The longer you delay the bigger the bill, do it now and dont wait until they get around to it.
Thanks I'm thinking about it do you have a contact number?.Luckily I wouldn't be paying as much as you as I have just scraped into the tax bracket I estimate about 25 quid a month.

have you opened a government gateway account, https://www.gov.uk/log-in-register-hmrc-online-services
Everything can be done online, i have just had my 2021-2022 tax bill sorted, i owe 62 pounds, like you i have 2 pensions and it takes time for them to sort out, if you have a work place pension and state pension then there is no need for a self assessment, either send an online form or call them. Don't worry if you owe tax they WILL collect it
I'm sure they will!

If you do nothing now you will receive a tax bill after you complete your self assessment.
This will come with a payment plan (I think two part payments or an option to add it to your PAYE for the coming year).
Alternatively you can contact HMRC and ask for an interim assessment so you start paying now.
I personally would do the latter so as to not have big bills next year.
Thanks for the info.

Hi guys I started to receive my UK state pension in April 2022 all fine there but when combined with my work pension I am now over the income tax personal allowance for this current tax year.In due course i will fill in an annual UK tax return for 2022-23 declaring my full income as usual. My question is since I haven't paid any tax yet when will HRMC start deducting income tax from my work pension as I believe is the normal procedure? Thanks.
thai debit cards

Hi.Please move if this is the wrong forum.I've recently renewed 2 expired debit cards with Kasikorn and Krungthai banks but have noticed neither have the usual valid from date just the expiry date. This is a problem when this date is required eg on a UK passport renewal form and doubtless elsewhere.Anyone got experience of how to get around this? Thanks.
