Not today but was there last Thursday. I went about 2 in the afternoon. It took 10 to 15 minutes to get a number for the retirement extension. I waited about 20 to 30 minutes for my number but was out of the office my 3.
Hope it goes well for you.
Thanks I've actually just booked an appointment (very easy) for 2.30.Hopefully all will be that easy tomorrow!

Hi..I've heard the queues at Soi 5 Jomtien have been long recently and as I was planning to do my yearly extension of my retirement visa tomorrow can anyone who has been there today confirm this is still true?I know things are generally busier in the morning but is this now true of later in the day as well?Thanks..

As another poster said, you could buy an ATK and test yourself first before undergoing test at the hospital. If it comes up positive, postopne everything by about 2 weeks.
Thanks I will.

Just phoned an insurance broker the cheap covid insurance available before is no longer being sold due to the high number of claims..

They would tell you to isolate at home.
You could always buy a ATK test prior.
Thanks they did tell me I could.Just trying to cover all possibilities.

Hi.If this is in the wrong section please move.I plan to have an operation going into hospital on Feb.27th and have been told I need to take a PCR test by the hospital.I was ok on my last ATK test recently.I am worried despite them telling me I can self isolate at home if I am positive that they will make me go into an expensive quarantine hotel. Is it still possible to buy cheap covid insurance to cover this eventuality?

Seems about right.

Has to be in a thai bank account 2 months prior to extension and 3 months after and 400K is needed for the remaining 7 months.

So £1,000 seems to be the max for guaranteed super-quick transfers in the case of us Brits, then!
About 1100 pounds max. unless you use Kbank Bangkok or SCB for ANY transfer to Thailand from tomorrow..see my previous post.

Because Cambodian and Laotians wouldn't be hanging out in a location like that unless they were cooking food and cleaning.
I never said it was likely just possible..

See only thais on that photo.
I can't tell what nationality anyone there is just by looking. They are probably Asian but other than that how is it possible to know they aren't Cambodian or Laotian for example?

I found a blank one can I just fill that out and put that number on the paper and mail it to them?
Personally I would go and see them.A new one wont have the entry stamp or same reference number.

or looking at it another way, you don't take advantage of exchange rate peaks
Of course I am flexible to a degree basically I'm trying to avoid the disadvantage of having to make a transfer during a trough while waiting for the rate to go up.

Also with many small transfers you average out the fluctuations in the exchange rate.

My method is to make smallish transfers between 500 and 1000 pounds regularly early in the morning either from my uk bank or my wise borderless acc. to my thai bank.My best time is 4 seconds yesterday it took 17 seconds.I can't remember when it last took more than 3 hours. It seems to me if you stick to a predictable routine this arouses less suspicion from the authorities looking out for the bad guys.

I suspect some confusion somewhere. Perhaps there is a limit of 50,000 US dollars in one transaction and that was misunderstood as being baht. Just an idea.
Well if that's true there are an awful lot of confused people on this and related threads on thaivisa.Something is happening and getting to the bottom of it is proving highly elusive.Transfers of 50000 us dollars are not that common so as to generate multiple threads.

With another work from home coming soon in the UK and the pensions still being paid late will this add to the delay? I think it will be 6 months before I ever see mine with a lump sum of back dated payments. So it's good you can still make the claim by phone but it's going to be a while before you see any money.

Not too long I hope..

If there have been changes to the AMLO/PSO regulations for Thailand as has been suggested here and elsewhere why aren't they being applied consistently to all transfers/deposits over 49999 baht and why does Wise know nothing about it?Something strange is happening..
