What a pathetic heap of crap. Chalerm should be made Minister for Agriculture as he spreads nothing but bull shit. Had there been any substantive acts to neautralize Thaksin the REDS would have used it as fuel in defence of their overwhelming support for their glorious leader.
And as for that pathetic little ponce of a son , someone should enlighten the little idiot that finding war weapons in Burma requires no stretch of the imagination. The country has been under military rule for decades. Perhaps his dad should ask for a refund regarding his education
Nicely put my man...

It's always amusing to listen to farangs who spend so long in a foreign country they feel the need to get involved in political discussions to give themselves a sense of belong. Happy politicking 'aliens'. Lol
Think it's called opinions which everyone is entitled too as far as I am aware ,involved "how" they can't vote !!!!

No insurance covers pre-existing conditions. If the person has paid into Thai social security for over a year, and paid his taxes he might qualify for social security medical though. Still not exactly clear on how it all works, but I do know foreigners that pay in are eligible.
Cheers thanks for the help...

II have proof that in fact the Pitak Siam intends to topple the government within 49.5 days, their aim is to replace the PM with a bowl of custard, have a nuclear reactor in every home, guaranteed no flooding within the next 127 years and a few yard of rope for every student. this was told to me by my good friend who's initials start with % and was once within 2 foot of Budda whilst wearing nothing but a banana.
Got to be true then ,..

At long last, the seeds of discontent are starting to grow in numbers.
I hope they grow & have a good harvest, if as good as the rice crop then the government will be in trouble.
Are you hoping for more riots, airport seizures, military coups, corrupt political courts so the democrats can get back in?
I know they can't win an election but that is too extreme for me.
Agreed...

I have a Lao girlfriend, same as Thai ( I am a Lao American ) who lives in Laos and I live here in the States. I am a 41 y.o retiree who is doing well. I take care of her every month through a very generous allowance and flies to Asia twice a year for 3 years now. Everything is fine with us. I love her dearly. Problem is, I can never trust her. Its not really her I feel uncomfortable, its her family that I can't trust. Its all about money.
After various arguments, she finally knows what is the real deal in our relationship. Asia woman always want to be in charge. Well, from the get go, I made some serious pointers.
A- Don't ask about my income
B- I am here to take care of you and your kids. Fine. But not your family
C- One lie, you are out
D- Steal one dollar from me, you are out
Sorry I have to be blunt about it. And no, I am no caveman romantic either. I figured life is too short to be bothered with penny annie stuff. I come to visit and have a good time.
Your friend needs to be firm. The one that controls the finances, controls the relationship. JMO

Interesting story. If i owned an 80 table restaurant the last thing on my mind would be spending my earnings on an overpriced luxury item to my spouse. Frankly i never see these things happening in the Thai community i take part of..
Question comes to mind; Why are people happy about showing of wealth to others?
Someone dropped it in his 80 seat restaurant .hahah

I wish I could say that I'm shocked, but unfortunately, I'm not. Thaksin is clearly aiming to take over the country, and he doesn't accept any opposition. The military coup clock is ticking.

The truth is all parties concerned were to blame, the reds for massing in such numbers & turning a protest into a living village, the yellows for inciting red camps by being in close proximity instead of staying well out of the way. Eventually the politicians who belatedly tried to clamp down on the situation but lost control themselves, protest leaders who lost control of their own protesters the police & army officials who had ulterior motives of their own to account for their actions & the worst of all the anarchists dressed in black whose ultimate aim was to kill anyone in the opposition.
It's history, leave it behind & move on, learn from the carnage it caused & become a truly democratic society.
Look around & as all the other Asian countries are embracing progress Thailand stands alone in the middle with it's internal fighting, politics & corruption.
Thailand is not emerging as Yingluk spouts around the globe as an emerging world leader, a hub of this that or the other, it is stagnating in a pool of hatred, it will slip forever backwards until it is too far behind to catch up & other leaders will not wish to bail them out with investment.
Thailand can hold onto the only brand it has "Land of Smiles" not land of Investment, education, agriculture, health, industry, technology, democracy.
The only thing Thailand was once famous for it's rice is now being trashed by governmental ignorance.
When will it all end.. I don't think it ever will !!
IMHO
Spot on my friend ...

Abhisit pens account of 2010 violenceTHE NATION
BANGKOK: -- Opposition and Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva yesterday launched a book, "The Truth Has No Colour", chronicling his real-life ordeal during the 2010 red-shirt riots, during which he was the prime minister.
At the Democrat Party's headquarters, 40 of Abhisit's avid supporters showed up to buy the book and have him autograph their copies.
Abhisit said he wrote the book without adding any political slant, as he wanted to reveal the truth about what happened during the red-shirt riots. He said he believed national reconciliation could only be achieved by acknowledging the truth of what happened during the incident.
He expressed concern that the truth is being distorted for political reasons and that the justice system has been influenced by politicians.
The book gives Abhisit's perspective of what happened during the red-shirt rallies and the crackdown on the protesters by the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES), and features pictures of red-shirt rallies at various places.
"I affirm that everything written in this book is taken from actual experience. Is it a tale, or not? I have evidence to prove that it is the truth,'' he said.
One of the significant incidents highlighted in the book is the red-shirt attack on Abhisit's car at the Interior Ministry in 2009. The picture caption reads, "Escaping death at the Interior Ministry".

After reading what you wrote, I can understand why you think Australians are backward.Hopefully the Australians will learn something from this shared experience and put it to good use in the future.
You are right Australians need to learn I was in Australians and I found they are more backward than the Thais.

"The premier brushed aside Mr Thirachai’s criticism on the country’s huge public debt from the government’s policy, saying it is merely temporary debt which will be paid after revenue is generated from selling rice."
Pure mathematical genius! The exact figures need to be kept secret though for reasons of grave national security....
My thoughts exactly !!!!!!
How the hell is the math gonna work ....
