Talking to a friend last night and I cannot remember how the topic came about but he said the ladies who work in a bar are tied to that bar by a contract that they have to pay to be able to leave the bar. Apparently one bar charges them 7000 Baht to leave and another 5000 Baht.
Is this correct and if so, is it enforced?
Presuming they are bound by a contract I cannot see why they cannot simply walk away from the bar if they so wish and go home. Or are these contracts to stop them going off to work in a nearby bar, or even walking off with a new (b/f).?
Total BS ......

He deserves his seat alright, as he sold his soul to the devil.
Weng and Jatuporn were the ones that turned down Abhisit's proposal for early elections, just before the shit hit the proverbial fan!
Both have blood on their hands!
I'd give him a seat plugged into the electric grid...

if a foreigner cannot buy land in this country freehold why should the Thai Gov be allowed to buy outside of this country so much double standards, one rule for us and one for them.
Agreed....

Make promises to give her more - Not directly, rather start suggesting that you think you ought to build a bigger house and perhaps buy some land to plant rubber trees on. Make a list of stuff you'll need, add a pick-up truck and tell her you think it a good idea to buy a pick-up truck for the house build/farm so that you don't have to pay someone else to haul your stuff.
Plant the seed of hope that there is going to be more money, nurture the green shoots of her greed, let it it grow to its full height and watch the expectation of the fruit being picked.
Then run.
And leave her to explain the failed expectations she's already told all her friends and family about.
Actually the spot on advise ......

you guys can validate this for me that I am being scammed. I have been married for 1 year and my wife back and forth from USA to Thailand and I agree I would take care of payment for her house. $1000 per month while a course her family live there. This time she come back and her attitude change and now she is demanding monthly $1000 for house, $500 for her and $350 for mom. <deleted> and I see she talk to her ex many many times on Skype. She tell me she can thank him for negotiating a good deal for her and I already pay 250000 baht dowery and 10 baht gold and still owe 250000 and she wants to know when she gets it..F'n crazy. She is so stupid now I lose all respect for her and feel she just a prostitute and that the way she will be treated now. But of course not too much longer. I have my plan and if you guys have good idea shoot them off to me.
Get rid man she is F'n taking the piss ,,,,,get out now .......

2 final questions:
Can you renew from Thailand if it has only 2 years on it?
It's confirmed, if you got money and you have been living illegally in Thailand, you won't go to jail if you can afford a ticket, fine and or bribes?
Thanks guys, feel like have all the info we need now.
Aiding and abetting my friend dangerous ground

Any kind of work without a work permit is illegal.
Remember one thing. One does not go to jail for breaking the law, but for getting caught.
No that is not entirely correct. You only need a work permit if you are working for someone.or for a company etc.
You can not get a work permit unless you are working for a company or someone.
If you are self-employed, say like a consultant, you do not need a work permit.
I have discussed this at length with my lawyer and with the local labour departmentt in my city when a friend of mind starting working from his house for an overseas company via the internet.
Flat out wrong don't post info that will get people into trouble! !!!!

It say's the bottom bars can stay in this PG article.
Yes its says ...
“We recommend that the building [Tiger Discotheque] be torn down, but the bars on the ground-floor level can stay,” he added.
Hard to see how the lower bars can operate while the floor above is torn down. Way I hear it the entire building will be rebuilt, but hey who really knows except the Tiger owner. Lucky he has the new Tiger just about open ..
Spooky wouldnt ya say !!!!!!!

I have biting questions to Mr. Abhisit:
1. When you were in Office, where were you, when you were too busy NOT handling the accumulating flood problem measurements that were apparently to come months later, when you were dethroned by the Taksin organization?
2. What did he do to make the country better? Nothing??
So is he any better than Yingluck???
Whether he was better than Yingluck is irrelevant, Abhisit is in the opposition and his job is to counterbalance the government. Or in other words being critical. Yingluck's performance is laughable, she seems clueless and absent all the time. Her party PT made loads of promises before the election and is being called on them
Would you prefer that nobody questions this government?
Spot on...

First R.I.P. to the victims and sincerest condolences to the victims' families and friends, quick recovery for the injured...
Unfortunately accidents like this happen all over the world, and let's be honest here - it could have been worse!!!
In my opinion, it does not make a difference if the pub was operating after the official hours, etc. as people did choose to come on their free will to stay and party (or hide from the rain, whatever). I am quite sure that most of the forum members who wasted their time typing that senseless babble about "if they would have closed in time, there would be no deaths, blablabla..." have in their lives been at least at one night venue after official closing hours, just enjoying themselves... Did they shout at the establishment owner, telling them to "close right now, you criminal son of a b..ch!" ??? Most certainly not!
Everyone who boards an airplane or a ship, or a bus, taxi or train knows deep inside that disaster could strike at any given moment. Anyone who enters an enclosed nightlife venue, sports stadium, huge shopping center, ice skating hall, you name it, also - deep inside - knows that disaster could strike here at any given time and day... Survivor stereotypes and people who already have escaped death in similar situations will always look for emergency exits and most likely stay close to entrances and exits, but sometimes you simply don't have a choice and suddenly you find yourself amidst the stampeding masses... Fact is: You are never safe, nowhere and that's permanent! Even if one chooses to never leave the house because the fear of a possible accident outside of his comfort zone scares the $#!t out of him, an airplane could crash right into that building and kiil him instantly while he's watching Oprah or similar crap on TV...
Then, when $#!t hits the fan, everyone shouts "Ah and Oh" and demands stricter laws, more regulations and more thorough checkups. On the other hand, exactly those people are just so happy if an examiner, policeman, official of any kind, etc. lets them get away with murder because they were able to just put up their sweetest smile or had such a very good excuse story to tell.
I really hate this blame game. Get a life and remember: Life is dangerous - full stop.
Spot on and logical thinking quite refreshing .....

If the dam_n placed closed when it suppose to nobody would have died, no one. That's why it's important to say this.
Sure, and if the tourists did not come to Thailand and that bar, they would not not have died. Easy answer, all stay at home! What a interesting way of looking at it you have.

I think Nikitas is doing OK .
Pity about the food.
Ever since they cut rimlay out of the food, they went downhill.
Ummmm wrong you can take the ladies from Aussie bar.....

Truly miss old Jazz (Miles, etc etc). Hardly ever hear Pink Floyd on the radio. The replays on the songs now at 91.5 is ridiculous.
I also miss stories of songs and how they came about. How the songwriters created them. Band stories, etc etc.
About 7 years ago, on 90.5, they had an lovely old Thai lady that explained Thai music and their musicians (Late afternoon on Sundays). Great intro to their style.
Anyways, just babbling...
Good luck.
Agreed
