How often do you get your ACs cleaned?
DualSportBiker replied to scubascuba3's topic in General Topics
Every three to four months. As for replenishing the refrigerant, it is a scam! Unless they leak and empty within a couple of months, they retain 100% of the gas. This is the biggest domestic scam out there. -

Is The Nana Family Land On Sukhumvit Haunted?
DualSportBiker replied to HugoFastor's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
There was a site at the mouth of Ekkamai road that was supposed to be haunted - vacant for years. Not any more! Every new building has a couple of construction workers die while on site. Locals pledge never to more there, but others do and soon the rumours die like the workers... -

Thailand Has Global Ambition to Become Tech Talent Hub by 2030
DualSportBiker replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Tech savvy to them means they are users of the latest tech. Frightening enough, I've been told that as I don't IG or SnapChat, I am not a techie - those are user apps. Being tech savvy is not about being a dolt user - techs make stuff, and not clips of puppies. They make software, apps, design widgets and tools, understand operating systems and security procedures. Knowing how to post to social media is the modern equivalent of getting a letter into a letter box! -

It is a BOI supported sector. We can own 100% of our own companies :) -
Thailand Has Global Ambition to Become Tech Talent Hub by 2030
DualSportBiker replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I've been hiring technical roles here since 1991, network engineers, data engineers, software developers and database designers. I won't hold my breath! I have several Thai friends with software houses here. They complain bitterly about the quality of graduate talent. Two of them graduated overseas and had successful businesses there before returning. They are the most vocal and negative. Vietnam has produced more software engineers in the last 5 years that Thailand has since 1990. 65% of IT graduates in Thailand don't work in IT! Thai companies have made it clear that they view software skills are low-value and look to fresh grads to replace anyone asking for a reasonable salary. The effect is clearly visible; a complete lack of quality software talent and those that are qualified ask for stupid packages. One mate spent nearly 20 years in Oz working for software houses. On his return the only way he could get a salary that reflected his experience was in marketing! He was told flatly "We don't pay that kind of money for software skills." Admittedly that attitude is fading and companies are slowly realising that they can't do squat without quality software capabilities. But they can't turn this ship by 2030.- 121 replies

They may operate here, but they ain't a real Thai bank. Sure you know that. Nobody considered Citi a Thai bank, so why UOB? Anyhow, many of my Thai friends said they were really disappointed with the way UOB handled the acquisition of accounts here. Lots of issues, poor support etc. I've been a customer of Kasikorn since the early 90s. Just recently opened a Krungsi account. When I first opened my KBank account I was on a marriage visa. I tried to open a second account recently and was told that as I had changed my visa type to retirement I could not open a 2nd account! I needed to have the same visa as before! Go figure! The lack of flexibility and ability to handle what should be a normal progression is always an eye-opener... I was advise by Krungsi to keep only daily/weekly balances in accounts that can be accessed via their app or site. An (technically) orphaned account helps prevent loss in scams and fraud.

It is telling that you only respond to one of four topics you defined... As for job creation, there are no serious economists who share your facile opinion. The sum of the bars under Biden is larger than the loss due to Covid. You also conveniently ignore that some of those job losses under Trump were driven by his appalling handling of the pandemic; inject bleach and bathe in UV light! Remember those classic "I am a clueless moron" moments? Also, can you elevate your trolling from zero-effort to perhaps that of a 6 year old? Grab some data rather than your unsupported opinions?

Oh get real. Inflationary pressures are baked in months in advance of changes in the rate of inflation. An economy the size of the US economy takes months to change direction. US inflation was going to go up regardless of the winner of the presidential race in 2020. Trump was lucky to loose as he would have had to wear what he created. The tax break for corporations and wealthy individuals along with the stimulus packages created the momentum for inflation which started just as he was leaving office: You can't review US inflation in isolation - only a muppet would do that: (https://www.investopedia.com/inflation-rates-us-and-the-world-7369986#:~:text=Inflation Around the World,rate%2C is the eighth lowest.) US inflation came down further and faster than any other developed nation - under Biden. Biden kicked butt with job creation: Trump killed a bipartisan border bill solely to keep the problem alive. His interest in the border is selfishly political and he cares not about the problem itself. It is a tool just like his supporters. As for Ukraine, only a myopic poorly educated and short-sighted fool would consider that Russia's actions there are not worthy of staunch opposition. Taking Russia's side is unfathomable. Trump seems to do so because he admires people who do what they want regardless of law, ethics or morality. He wants to be able to get away with rape, violence, fraud and subversion of democracy just like his poster-boy heroes, Putin, KJU and Xi. Trump only wins on these issues to people like you who are what you know yourself to be...

Was just chatting with my the ex of a recently deceased friend. She has lived in the US for 20 years now and recently returned for the first time. She is Thai, but multiple Thais failed to understand her throughout her trip. She was asked if she was Thai, or "Where are you from?" consistently. Asking someone if they are Thai is a legitimate question. There are plenty of non-Thai Asians in Thailand. I ask waitresses all the time because some Burmese staff speak reasonable English. I have moments of real clarity with my Thai - everyone understands everything I say. I also have moments when I am tired, stressed, bored/non-committal when I can't understand the loose approximation of Thai that comes out of my mouth, let alone the poor sod I am talking to. When that happens I flip to English, or better still French, just to stir up my head and help myself refocus. It does not annoy me, but it can be frustrating. That frustration is more due to being tired, stressed or bored, not failing to make myself understood. There is always room for improvement. What I never do is get visibly frustrated and repeat the same phrase louder hoping that will help. I try a different tack and use completely different phrasing.

It would be preferable for Thai news to pick up on the story of Brian Giles, a Thai national and rising star in Motocross. Multiple international wins under his belt, he is banned from riding in Thailand by the local motorcycle racing authority for reasons that are of Thai soap opera quality. His career is being crushed because of a personal vendetta by an old miserable man.

Why are there so many farang lefties in Thailand

If you can be more facile with your explanations it would be a great help. Socialism = bad. There, I helped you save keystrokes. -
The purpose of broccoli is to make more broccoli. Same can be said for carrots and any other vegetable you can think of. We assign the purpose of sustenance to broccoli and all other items we consider food. However that does not change their original purpose.
-
You're right about that. You can replace 'much time' with 'no time'. However, I did see a Harvard Medical School specialist give a clear breakdown of the purpose of the main component parts of cows milk. The fact remains that everything in milk is purposed to bulk up calves.
-
It's natural sugar, not sure disgusting is the right term. It's effects are bad, but the sugars in milk are there for the calf... Having drunk 2-3 pints of milk per day all the way through high school, i haven't drunk milk in 20+ years.
