  2. In September 2011 I bought a New Honda Wave ,it came with Tax and insurance. But the time has come for me to go home to England ,But when I return to Thailand in November 2012 the Tax and insurance will have expired ,So is it best to get a friend to Re tax and insure it ?

or is it easy on my return to re tax it my self ? don;t we have to get new plates each time we tax it ?

and also do I need to notify any body that i have moved ?

  3. the best and cheapest way i have found although it take time is to open a English paypal account and a Thailand paypal account.

then top up your funds from your uk bank to your English paypal this is free

then pay send money English pounds as a gift (£1000) to your Thailand paypal this will cost £5

then with draw money from Thailand Paypal to your Thai bank account only when needed to top up money in your Thai bank account so you can with draw from a ATM

you can then leave your transfered money in your Thai paypal still in English pounds and withdraw to your Thai bank when the rates are good

    summary

this will take about 14 days from UK bank to finaly arrive in your Thai bank and for every £1000 will only cost £5

  8. we got the visa from Birmingham and it only has an O in the catergory

but we did ask for a retierment visa and had to show bank statments and proff of id with house hold bills

    and quote name='lopburi3' timestamp='1318565732' post='4764264']

Did you perhaps get that visa at Hull? It is not a long stay (retirement visa) if you did. Only London Embassy can issue and requires medical/police report.

The Long Stay visa is a non immigrant O-A (not -O-) and only that provides a one year stay on entry (what stamp did you receive - you must leave or extend before that allowed to stay until date. If multi entry you can return for a new stay anytime before the use before date on the actual visa.

  9. hello can you please confirm that an o visa is the same as a retirement visa .as there seem to be some confusion over this, I have O on my visa so does this mean I don't have to leave the country every 90 days? Or just go to an immigration office and get my passport stamped ? I am over 50 and when I applied for my visa I was told to get a retirement visa so that's what I thought I had!!So does a retirement visa have a different stamp /category?Thanks docI now it seems to say this on your site but people I met over in Thailand seem to be also confused I rent I house in Thailand and stay here from England for 9 months at a time

Retirement visas (O-A) are only available in your home country. Extensions based on retirement are available at Thai immigration offices. If you are residing in Udon Thani, you are required to use the local office for your extensions.
