  1. What a misuse of the statute of limitations. The idea should be that it pressure the prosecutor to not hold a possible prosecution over someone's head for decades. Hurry up with your work or its too late. Here rich suspect use it as a way to see how long they should stay out of the country before they cannot be prosecuted anymore. A atatute of 5 years means you need to live abroad for 5 years and you are fine again. They use it to avoid the law. Start the trail, let him defend himself or continue in his absence. And if he returns in 1, 5, or 50 years shouldnt matter; the day you walk into prison is the day your sentence starts.
  2. You need to bring your wife and the whole package of documents every year. At some immigrations you only need to bring a witness the first time, but almost all the other requirements stay the same. Edit: other immigrations never ask for a witness, in Phuket they required one for the first time only
  3. They are going after the USA where prison is a business. Get as many people in prison as possible, charge the government money for locking them up, use the prisoners for forced labor and pay them cents on the dollar, make sure they come out worse than how they come in, wait for a few weeks and the same person is back again for the next sentence. Rinse and repeat.
  4. Not sure about the UK rules but I could not get an EU visa for my kids as they have citizen rights. We had to get them their Dutch passport through the embassy in Bangkok or could not go to Europe.
  5. But what does the law say exactly? Shouldn't the reporters ask a lawyer for the legalities? In my home country you cannot force anyone to pay back wrongly transferred money: it is on you to fill in the correct account number. Sure you can sue someone over it, but is there anything that makes the receiver legally obliged to return the money here?
  6. Not that simple, I had the same 2 years ago on the account of my kid. Regular payments came in from an unknown person and I contacted the bank. They said they couldn't do anything (they can't block someone to transfer money to you, they cannot contact the person directly). I trasferred the money back a few months with a text that it was wrongly transferred, but the money kept coming. So I saved it up till it was a large enough sum that they would notice if i transferred it back and only then it stopped.
  7. In that case you can get an extension based on having a minor Thai being dependant on you as you are the gardian.
  8. I believe there is a station/desk near the elevators in Central Festival also where you can get one.
  9. For most it will not be the risk of breaking the bank, but the risk of breaking their neck climbing on the roof of the house at age 60+. It is something to keep in mind when deciding where to install the panels as you do need to be able to reach them for cleaning.
  10. You can never rule out #3, we are talking women here.
  11. Just to make it clear for the other members: you use the luggage compartment on the roof to put the luggage in, so it doesn't bother the passangers inside the car who otherwise have bags and suitcases all around them. You do not, I repeat, DO NOT put your family in the rooftop box!
  12. Soi dog = dog living in a street waiting to get food from the locals. He is planning to go on nature trails, not many soi dogs living in a forest.
  13. Who cares about that, I just want to see hot slim university students in tight uniforms. That should be reason enough for intervention!
  14. Thanks for the confirmation. I stopped going super early there and now arrive around 10 these days. That normally gives enough time to go back home, eat lunch, and come back around 1. Getting bank stuff the same day isn't that much of a problem in that case. It is such an annoying rule though. Makes no sense, adds nothing, and makes the process more difficult again. You need to hold the money in your account for 57 days anyways, till you get approved, so it makes no difference at all.
  15. That shouldn't be a problem, as you can still get a "re-entry" permit based on the under consideration stamp and therefore leave the country if you want/need to. You do need to be back just before that date though as the re-entry is valid till the end of your under consideration date. And you can check the status of your application online. And thanks for the update, your experience almost matches mine from 8 months ago. Back then a printout of my bank account showing a transaction in the last 7 days was good enough. You sure it should be from the same day nowadays or did they just tell you do get a transaction done quickly, get a new printout, and then return without explicitly mentioning the printouts should be a maximum of 7 days old (as it explicitly stated at the information desk where the volunteers are sitting) ? It has been max 7 days old for years already, only recently they are demanding a transaction visible on the day you make the printout (or maybe before also but i just didnt notice).
  16. A know of pubcrawls, where you go from pub to pub to booze up. But you guys do that on a bicycle? Dont you have many accidents with drunk participant going into traffic?
  17. There is a huge natural area in front of the British International School, great for walking a dog.
  18. Obvuously you better first get your free jab and then cancel your booking. Not the other way around. Your word is not so reliable...
  19. That place in the picture looks nice, do you need to book a seat 6 months ahead othewise your puff will be 600 baht? And do they move the seats closer to the tables every 6 months to be able to push in more and more people like they do in their planes?
  20. Ask your VET which other place he can recommend that will help putting your dog to sleep when needed. We did the same, were referred to another place that refused because the dog was not old yet (barely 1yr old), but they referred us again to another VET. Once there he put the dog down immediately without further questions. That guy is now our regular VET for all our dogs: I prefer a VET that prioritizes the well-being of the dog over his own superstition/religion. Never had a second of doubt about how well qualified he is (unlike the previous place we went to where we paid much more and they never were sure what the problem was).
  21. Mostly university students who want to learn how to become a commercial fisherman? ? ?
  22. I dont know, maybe you can just wait till the dogs come out of the gate and throw the sausages at them while standing behind your fence. As the owner is not there, he can't see you doing it. Not really rocket science to come up with this approach, maybe you could have thought of it yourself also at some point. Once they are gone, you pick up the remains of the sausages and flush them through the toilet leaving no traces.
  23. In my home country (in Europe) this breed of dogs is rather popular with "elderly" citizens (50+) because of their character. "Big softies" would fit that description perfectly.
