  1. ...160 baht for a beer. Pricey too. Maybe I'll come for one. Cant we find a better venue? ...

    Jesus H Christ! 160 baht!

So that's a probable No, then. Apart from one to meet Jockstar. We'll go off to the Hillary Bar in soi 4 and play some pool :o

Maybe I should start reading this thread from the beginning and not ass-backwards. :D

got some nice tables in hilarys, nice atmosphere too, you play any good RDN?

don't forget the happy hour from 6-9pm, heineken bt.80 per bottle :D

  2. The question, is can an individual farang really be successful and make a lot of money in business here in Thailand? Naturally one hears of so and so opening a bar or running a computer repair service.  I have yet to see one Farang really achieve multi millionaire status, here in Thailand. Why is this so? Ideas and comments please (Please let's exclude those in the entertaiment field)

Oh, there are a few multi millionaires!

    Why is this so?

Because they are not on TV....don't visit bars...stay low-profile...work their a##ses off...and most likely don't cross along 'walking street' in Pattaya....but play on the more important golf courses in Thailand where they meet the 'rich and famous'....

I used to work with a Frenchman who is married into the most influent family of TH (and increased their wealth substantially); I know of a Dutch guy who has factories all over the country....and another one who is (together with a rich Thai family) very big in project development and real estate.

Since he joined in he increased their, and his own, wealth :o

But, of course there are only a few, the majority will never be multi-millionaires.

    LaoPo

I'll bet they were all rich before they came to Thailand. You don't marry into 'the most influent family of TH' unless you are rich already.

not quite true, with building-up the right contacts, you can easily get there, i have a high level contact that make introductions for me, surely if the deal comes off he get his %, but to get there first you have to show them what's it all about :D

and definitly, keep low profile and don't walk with pick-ups on sukhumvit or where-ever, go discretely to the fish-tanks instead :D

and yes, i work 12-14hrs per day, seven days per week :D

  3. i've had a number of businesses here...i made money by either selling them back to my thai partners or when owned by myself closed them down and took the cash out when they reached their max profit peaks :D

right now am in the middle of setting-up two new ones :D

as ajarn says, its about creativity and balls, whether the sums are large or small, you must always keep an eye out for the competition and/or your thai parteners :D

and with the internet and other parts of asia right on your doorstep, there are plenty of opportunites abound :D

i think the guys that make most of their money here, don't neccesarily make it here in thailand only, they tend to use asia as a whole as their business platform :D

the point is you all have to start somewhere, some things work, some don't, same elsewhere around the world, one disadvantage in thailand is the currency restriction of expatriation profits offshore, so most guys here will be very low-key about their true financial status :o

  4. I could read through all the posts again. But i'm too lazy. :D

Thought because your head hurt? :D

I'm... hmm... going. Should be done at work by 6PM. And the place is just a few BTS stations away.

Will try and come for a couple. But i have no idea who some of these members are? ie. Not been around long. But hey. It could be a laugh. Also LC i better come and make sure you are ok.

    :D:D:D:o

i count 19 yes votes plus i did not vote and i dont know who did vote yes and maybe i'll bring a couple of students and someone take their teeruks so maybe a party of 30 or so :D

can someone can print the tv logo and laminate and put it in a cozy spot so that we can find the tv's somewhere :D

  5. I gor for

    1) Venezuela

    2) Colombia

    3) Vietnam

Interesting, a lot of the beauty queens seem to be from Venezuala. I planned to go there 10 years ago to check it out but somehow got stuck in Thailand. Maybe one day. I heard that the women outnumber the men by heaps.

I think you will find that venezuala have had more miss worlds than any other country.

been there done that, yes they pretty looking, but a bit on the plumpy side for, 55kgs up :o

for me thais, indonesians, vietnamese and the tall shanghainese models are my favorites :D

  6. my report from shields up using Zone alarm pro.

ne or more ports on this system are operating in FULL STEALTH MODE! Standard Internet behavior requires port connection attempts to be answered with a success or refusal response. Therefore, only an attempt to connect to a nonexistent computer results in no response of either kind. But YOUR computer has DELIBERATELY CHOSEN NOT TO RESPOND (that's very cool!) which represents advanced computer and port stealthing capabilities. A machine configured in this fashion is well hardened to Internet NetBIOS attack and intrusion.

My comp is cool hurrrah!!!! :o

Unable to connect with NetBIOS to your computer.

All attempts to get any information from your computer have FAILED. (This is very uncommon for a Windows networking-based PC.) Relative to vulnerabilities from Windows networking, this computer appears to be VERY SECURE since it is NOT exposing ANY of its internal NetBIOS networking protocol over the Internet.

My comp is secure hurrah!  :D

I recomend ZA as a firewall it is in fact easy to use and set up and if you check it on sites like shields up you get a nice mesage telling you its a cool comp lol.

I don't use Zonealarm, only Microsoft AV,and got the same results from Sheilds Up,but when I tested on Leaktest,it said I was open.

leak test program is 3-years old, would not trust it!!!

i have ZA Pro, avast anit-virus, ad-aware, spybot and spyware blaster, plus use maxthon with adblocker, geez how more secure can you get than that!!

  7. I've worked in the travel industry almost all of my life, have lived in many places and met even more people from all over the world. I believe there are beautiful women in every country. Percentage wise- I think it has a lot to do with demographics. For example, Thailand has 60+ million people in a relatively small country. Therefore- there are stunning beautiful women everywhere- every shop, bus stop or soi. Also the average population of Thailand is quite young- 30 to 35, which is another demographic that helps the question.

Asian women are definitely the best IMHO, Thai having the edge over the rest of Asians in their attitude and friendliness.

Pui, Porntip Nakhiranganok  won Miss Universe as well. She was brilliant!

She was in the news here during her recent visit from the US, promoting and helping with Tsunami relief. She still looks great! :D

My second choice is another country that starts with T, ends with D, and contains 8 letters- Trinidad. The women are a curious ethnic mix of African, Indian, Asian, Portugese and English but don't really look like any of them, having a look and coloring unlike anyone I have ever seen. Trinidad was a colony of England, hence the women "carry" themselves and speak like proper ladies. Very charming. They also seem to age very well. The older women are still just as beautiful as young ones. :D

Although I prefer Thai girls,  I've always thought the most beautiful girl was one with my **** cock in her mouth.

One of my friends says "they all look the same when they are standing on their head." Couldn't argue with him. :D

    you're sure about trinidad :o

  8. so 350k/9 days = 40k per night! pigs @arse, even for a top model in paris you dont pay that much :D

as i can recall there was a story once of a top ratchada fishbow girl, who made about 250K a month, but that was being a mia noi to a wealthy jap and sh@gging politicians :D

stop the crap and lets get back to reality, not all the guys are fcukwiths, not all the bg's are that smart, i reackon if the top ones make 40k she'd be lucky, all the others are dogs and lucky to survive on peanuts :o

  9. i back-up everyday on-line with iBack, i think it cost me $20/m for 10gb, which i can access anywhere on-line.

also have a couple of 1gb usb memory sticks for personal data, could not be bothered with burning cd's.

  10. i think its the plight of most farangs in europe, oz and the us :D

they come to thailand, have during their two weeks holiday, the time and woman of their life, and then have to go back to their drab apartments, rotten jobs, miserable life and weather, and then work for 50 weeks to save for their next two week holiday :o

you only have the see the sad french last sunday, viva bangkok and chardonney :D

to the op, come back to thailand and your senses :D

  11. I guess I can pop in for one????????

Is everybody aware of the price range?

    Tell em DJ

    Bt.160 for a Heineken?

    Bt.180 for a lady drink?

Still if it gets too expensive there's always the Plaza just up the road with 30 bars and planty of atmosphere.

    T.

i'm working on a happy -beer @ bt.80- hour from 5-9 pm, but with only 15 members so far :o

maybe dj pat can push them a bit more :D

  12. i have an overseas friend who wants to run a couple of seminars through a hotel here.

he has no company here as yet, but wants to advertise it here first and then see the response and test it and run the seminars.

if the results are good he will do the future seminars through a thai company.

anybody else has experience with this, can we do this, i've seen other overseas speakers do it, how?

  13. Coincedence, I got an email yesterday with one of these videos. I had never heard of this Happy Slapping before. Actually the thing is in America where a guy tries to knock a cyclist off his bike while filming. Things don't quite go as planned. I can send you a copy if you want to see some thug getting his just desserts.

i actually have the movie and it really gave me the conviction that europe sucks and that thailand is paradise

You mean the American one where the guy falls out the car and gets splattered by a car coming the other way?

no--filmed in the uk, about drug junkies..starring ewan mcgregor :o

    QUOTE

and there is no way that I would have survived back in my home in Scotland(Edinburgh/Leith). I was in locked up 8 times in the UK, and have never been in Thailand!

i'm just reading "trainspotting" , you're not the inspiration for "sick boy" are you ?

you've probably read it by now , but if you havent , then grab a copy.

Yeah Tax, I've read it a couple of times, great book especially with the local references. Welsh was a bit of a celeb. in Leith.

No, I was more like a cross between Spud and Beggar Boy Begbie :o

Crazy place, much much safer in Thailand.

Torture and extortion of this nature appear to be an escalation of the "happy slapping" craze which began with teenagers slapping adults on public transport and filming the incidents on their mobiles to later exchange like Pokemon cards or football stickers.

  15. Why you guys feel sorry for this guy I don't know.  We should be laughing at him.  Just another sorry sap whose brain went right to his crotch soon after his first orgasm with an asian beauty.

Another man who after a few mind blowing "releases"  fell in love with a Thai girl (with bar girl instincts) and couldnt think straight.

Why can't these men just come to Thailand for sex ?  Why do you feel compelled to take them from their home and marry them?  Why do u need to save them and take them back to your home countries? Why get ball and chained with some not well educated Thai girl?

This guy has heard all of the stories yet he believed it wouldnt happen to him.  Sorry... he got what he deserved..

Come to Thailand for the 3f style of sex.  Find em, f&^k em, and forget em!  What is so difficult about that?

Here are the 3 rules to follow in Thailand when playing the game:

    1.  Never take a Thai girl to your hotel room, guest house, or apartment.  Get a cheap 2 hour sex room.

    2.  Always pay.

    3.  Most importantly, Never ever see the same girl, working girl twice.

I know I will get criticism but this is the safest way for you inexperienced men to survive the thai voodoo when coming to  Thailand.

Come to Thailand for  the sex, sex, sex and leave it at that.  Why screw up your life by marrying some thai bar girl?  I have never ever understood this.

However Disco, I am glad you will take a much more cynical outlook on your next trip.  Thats the way to do Thaialnd.  Trust none of these women and just be glad your free and single and not tied down!!!

    Turok

could not agree with you more...doing the same thing with my uni-girls, too much gossipping and bullsh1t..and i live here :o
