  1. god god god god god jesus jesus jesus jesus jesus :D:D:D:D:bah:

What is it with these people and all the "charities" run by the crazy religous, belive as I do or you are "damned"people.Yes they do a little bit of good but their main objective is to try and brain wash some young minds into their warped way of beliving in this imaginary thing.

jesus was just a man and he is dead, get over it allready.

If you really want to help poor or disadvantged kids you do not have to give to these religous scam artists. There are any number of ways that you can help directly.

And what does this all have to do with the title of the post......nothing

Like someone said he just got ripped off by a scam. What do you expect when you deal in that side of life. You want to play nasty you will get taken a time or two. :o

  2. There have been a number of reports lately about marriages between Issan women and farangs bringing prosperity to parts of Issan and the women becoming farang in their eating habits. Successly relationships they seem to be generally

I am 2 years now seperated and live alone but would like to meet and possibly reside in Issan. Where do you meet prospective wives? The bars are really risky and agencies are just money making machines so it must be personal introduction friend of a friend I guess any advice on this. I don't live in Pattaya but down in Sattahip

    Constructive advice only please

    John

Isaan women tend to be ugly , there are many available Thai women mixed with Chinese blood that are very attractive and unlike Issan women they do not all look alike.

Why not set your goals a little bit higher ?

I would think by that type of comment that you "Vespa" are just unable to find one of the most beautiful woman on this earth. To wit, Issan woman.Thought you may like to see a typical Issan woman. One of the majority of Issan woman that have never seen the inside of a bar and have NO interest to.You poor poor lost soul.

As to finding a good wife.Go get yourself a place in Issan anywhere will do and learn the lay of the land.People will start to speak with you and you can take it from there.Enjoy your life.

  3. I think I'd fit into that group. At least three of the guys there would admire my haircut. :o

    post-17093-1164898046_thumb.jpg

I assume you are refuring to the three " solar powered sex machines " in the forground of the photo? To work properly you have to wax the top on occasionaly. :D:D

  4. How high up the tree was the nut befor it fell?I have a heck of a time trying to crack one open if the husk is still on it.The wife just takes a machete and WACK it is open. But to just crack open with a husk on it sounds very strange. If it hit you in the head though that is another matter.I would think you would not hear the crack but you would wake up in a bright room and say where am I? The doc would say "why you talk bad to girl?" She say you must give her money now for you bad man.We call police later, maybe.

  5. Good answer Colin...........hope it tells you all you want to know.

Anyway, in answer to your question. For a hotel that incorperates a brothel in it's basement, and a short time hotel as it's annex, what do you think?

At first I thought 5 star hotel then I changed my mind to....XXX hotel :o

  6. Anyone, surely there must be people on here living in Korat using there home internet? Just want to know who you isp is and how reliable theyve been since you have been with them

Hi Jared you can find some info about broadband services in Korat here.

What a neat trick to lure people to a "competitor's" forum. Why weren't you honest enough to tell the url openly that is the final destination of the link? :o Because the swear word filter of TV does change the name of your forum to "yahoo". You should not trick around for spamming!

    http://yahoo.com/board/index.php?PHP...amp;topic=126.0

Deception cannot impress, Mr. Sportrider! Disgusting!

Gee wizz rollercoster,Are you mental or what????? The link that SR is a great one where as yours is a link to PORN you are a very demented person.Oh I see that you are a TROLL sorry eveyone I made a mistake.Never redpond to a TROLL

  7. Im' sorry but I seem to have forgotin the word share. When the cousin comes to me with a beer Chang and two glasses of ice I say kop khun krup and enjoy the beer.He will say myperay. The wife just finishes her work. :D oh gosh what has happened to me? :o

  8. NORTH NEW CULINARY TRENDS

Dog meat is gaining in popularity in this northern province, with an increasing number of roadside food stalls serving dog meat dishes over the past few years. Three food shops on the side of the Chiang Mai-Chom Thong highway in San Pa Tong district are enjoying the rising popularity of dog meat.

    Continued .. Bangkok Post

Am I the only one who finds so many of the aspects of this story "distasteful".

especially the last sentence which really "sticks in my throat"

    "feedback" from thaivisa gourmets welcome

    This is absoutely disgraceful!

Aside from the extreme cruelty that killing dogs for meat involves, eaters of dog meat risk ingesting all sorts of nasties and diseases from eating dog meat.

It is doubtful to say the least, that these dogs are being bread specifically in captivity for dog meat & most people don't even like to touch a 'soi dog' but are willing to eat one!?!? Can you imagine the risks unthinking people are running!

Do people even imagine that dogs are killed in anything even approaching a humane way & in sanitory conditions?

What happened to the saying that a "dog is a man's best friend"? This practice should be outlawed as a priority! :o

Another person believing that they are right and everyone else is wrong. If you choose to not eat someting then do not eat it.But do not say that we are wrong about our decision to eat it.Food through out the world is different for a reason. You eat what is avalible to the people. No if ands or butts about it. :D I will try anything once.If I like it I will eat it again,no matter what it is. Gosh how I love food :D:D But here is a photo of something that I would have a hard time eating if I saw it before it was cooked. :D

  9. Well woke this morning about 0420 hrs and thought bit on the warm side in the bedroom: Are theres is another power cut, well out of bed 0545 hrs still no power, the wife cooked rice on the gas oven and boiled water for morning coffee.

Stroll round the garden play with my dog, still no power. power came back after FIVE HOURS. THen it was shower and get the ironing done I did half and the wife did the rest.

Then it was shower then on here emails weather report etc.

We still have not got our rice cut yet as the Machine keeps breaking down. The Taxi guy in the village bought three really old Harvesters and they spend more time broken down than making money, might have been better to buy one nearly new one that would work all the time, as they are charging 500 bht this year for cutting one Rai.

Will it happen today or as the wife said to the guy with the machines will you get to me this year.

1 sack of rice (100 kilo ??) is fetching 500 bht at the moment

    Cheers macb,

The same sacks of ours are 80kg After we send it through the mill we have 60kg of cleaned rice. The mill keeps the husk and 2kg per bag for their work. You also said something about them chargeing 500thb per rai to cut by machine. We are north of Phi Mai 20km up highway 2 and that was the price last year. But this year the price has gone up to 600thb.But they do a great job with new machine. The "straw" that is left we feed to the 60 head of cows.Oh I have to say the photo of the sacks of rice is not our rice but the size of the sacks are the same.

  11. I've noticed that in Thailand folks like to deep fry cuts of meat that falangs would either grill, pan fry or roast, including pork ribs(???)

anyone else got the same observation?...and I realise that most thai households don't have ovens and wouldn't know what to do with one if they had...

Yes I know what you mean.My wife will take strips of pork and marinate it in garlic and fish sauce. Then place out in the sun for a day to dry, then deep fry in oil.I really like it,a different take on jerky. We dip it in piknampla.A way that I like beef but the wife does not.You marinate the beef strips in fish sauce and sugar, then pat with crushed black pepper and corriander seeds and dry in an oven on low until dry.makes a great beef jerky. :o

  12. Coder the wife told me awhile back that most Thais do not eat beef because it is to expensive.Since they grewup without it by the time it is offered to them they just do not think it tastes good.I could understand why being that they want it WELL WELL done.

Pumpuiman being that the marinade was in Hawaaii I would think that it was Japenese in origian. If it had brown sugar and vinager added to it, it would be teriyaky sauce/marinade.Add corn or rice starch and simmer for a bit until thick and you have a teriyaky dipping sauce. The enzyme in papaya is a tenderizer. If you where to look at most commercial meat tenderizers they are made from the same enzyme. How I love food!!! :o

  13. My first suggestion would be not to cook individual steaks, but two or three to be sliced, and shared family style. This would be more familiar to them. I would serve rice and some vegetables as well.Dont worry about changing your spices...make it the way you do at home.

My Thai wife likes things very well done, I cant say if that is a trait, or personal preference.

I grilled a steak once, a perfect medium rare. No one would try it, actually several people were disgusted by the fact that I was eating it "not cooked". I had far better success with chicken-fried pork covered in saute'd mushroom and onions. By far, the families favorite food I make is fried calamari. All very simple but exotic for Thais.

That was my wife's exact phrase..."not cooked"........perhaps it is a "Thai" thing to like well done meat. I wouldn't be surprised, with the lack of refrigeration in many Thai homes.

There is refrigeration but if they have Beer Chang it goes in first, and the leftovers get stored in a cabnite.See photos

  14. I will be coming to Thailand in late December for my second visit. Last time I practiced Muay Thai with a couple of instructors and enjoyed it, though not very good at it. What I would like to do this time is to combine Muay Thai with a rigorous health and fitness program for a couple of week, losing about 8 kilos. I am about 12 kilos overweight. Need a place where the instructor is very strict about doing exercises and monitoring my weight and diet and 24 hour supervision, even to the point of using a cane for reluctance or non compliance. Previously I found instructors good but this thing about being a foreigner with money inhibits their ability to exercise their full authority. It seems the more money that you offer them the least likely they are to be pushy or impose penalties, whit means in the end I lose little weight even though I do enjoy it. Anyone with suggestions or contacts?

I since a little S&M here.Tell him you like to be wacked and punished if you do not do the full program. And that you will pay him very well.I think you will get what you are looking for. :o

  15. Udon . I stopped my building plans around Udon because of land diputes with the family .I had a 85 m2 2 story house ready in the rough . Bottom part concrete -top in lumber for frame ,floors , walls and roof .

When I stopped I recoverd all lumber used (moer then 1/2 has not jet been used at all -floors etc)

I have approx 100000Baht worth of lumber stored in a dry shed in Udon ,available for sale for 60-70 % of the value.

    Anyone intersted ,please contact me.

    JUERGEN

    Are you way up north???

I would be interested in this timber to build house for my wifes sister, but maybe you to far away to retrieve the timber

    macb

When the wife and I built our home, 20km north west of PhiMai we got our used wood shipped from around the RoiEt area.We had to buy very little new wood to complet the home.post-14263-1161604287_thumb.jpg

But I would think that to get wood, amount to build a home from Udon to Buriram would be a bit to much to make it worth while. But to get good quality wood is expensive anymore.New or used.

  16. Cheers wongsa,

Yes I have had the pleasure of the fantastic "rolling Thai Stereo". I had one for our wedding in our little moo ban 60km north of Korat. Here is a photo.post-14263-1161602821_thumb.jpg

I was visiting a friend on the other side of the moo ban, about 200m away, and I hear some LOAD LukTung. I love LukTung and Morlam. All of a sudden she jumps up and starts yelling the stereo is here!!! the stereo is here!!!I have to say when we went back over to my wife to be's home my ears began to hurt from the high decibles of the thing!I told her it gets turned down a notch, which she did not understand until I said need more quiet, or I am out of here.Well they did turn it down a notch if only a little notch. But what the heck it is a party for the whole moo ban not just me. :o

  17. Somehow, I'd have to think that those ancient temples have been underwater before. Since they are not going to float away I don't see a lot of damage. :o

If you had ever been to the Phimai area you would understand. It now has many people living around the area. And has for many years. :D
