1. I'm not from America, I'm I ? But I'm quite pleased with this specific Us Consular Outreach. I wish they would make housecalls when requested. Maybe they do ?

Fuse in the Netherlands powered off @ 02-06-2012 02:53 hours local time. Fuses in Thailand were quite okay this time. No, I did not fall asleep behind my TV this time, so did not automatically hook up myself to that rediculous Dutch Cupido TV or other TV Show, that's currently going on. Our lives are increasingly mediated by all kinds of information we did not ask for on devices that are called tablets. So di mitri op!

  2. Straightening facts as I've them at hand (can't straighten banana's).

Until the 18th of June, location Charkov, no travelling involved.

    Additional dates are in the 21st - 24th, 28th – 29th range : - )

Oh, maybe, some ppl present might like watching this vide:

  3. I've never visited following location (added to my todo list), so ask (phone):

    http://www.thongsomboon-club.com/

not implying that they're actually using them. One of their website pages coins the term B.B. Gun.

And, as a very special additional not unimportant date related gift, enjoy looking at a much more modern maa below:

  4. On 2009-11-11:

    "By The Nation

The economic ministers on Wednesday approved the Bt100, billion high-speed train construction in four routes, from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Nong Khai, Chanthaburi and Padang Besar.

Deputy Prime Minister Korbsak Sabhavasu said that Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva instructed the Transport Ministry to first focus on the eastern route as it is the shortest. The detailed investment plan must be completed within 45 days, to be submitted to the Cabinet for approval by the end of this year."

    The other newspaper added

"A feasibility study will also be made of the construction of rail tracks for high-speed trains on four routes: Bangkok-Chiang Mai (745km), Bangkok-Nong Khai (615km), Bangkok-Chanthaburi (330km), and Bangkok-Padang Besar (985km). The study is to be finished in three months."

2012-05-23: How time flies when you're having fun

Sorry, to have revived such an old thread. I'm just jumping around like a Dutch Naam related frog and checking dates ; - )

  5. Th[ere must surely be an ice-ceam mafia.

In my small Isaan town I see more than half a dozen Walls mobile units lined up in the morning. I am sure it must be a bit like buying a motorcycle taxi driver's vest.]

Seriously, this must be a total wind up. Sho the <deleted> would use a petrol guzzling van and all the related sunk costs to sell bllody ice-cream at 10b a pop?

Just for the record it is a diesel engine and sells from 16 baht up to 40 baht depending on location. Damm good soft serve ice cream and a good cash business for some one who wants to put some effort into it and is not so negative.

The quality of the 'soft serve' ice cream is, of course, dependent on the kit being used

What make of equipment does the van have.

(... added the [ ] myself to the response of Mr. Cardholder above ; crazy software ... )

For the time being I eat available German LIDL's Gelatelli spacerunners of Naam as long as they're available in our local shop.

Sincerily hope the Dutch public just enjoyed the currently aired V.I.S.S.E.N. at the 28th of May 2012, ended 22:00 local Dutch time.

  6. Dear mr. <whatever>lander, little lotus flower knows best which cookies most people like best at the floating market shown at that website ; - )

Since today, the 28th of May 2012 I know exactly who will arrive in the future. The male of those four will report their findings to me here in the Netherlands. Hope it will be a most splendid report.

Yeah, and I accept the minor note of the other mr. from Pattaya over here. That point made is also highly appreciated. The Thai ladies working at the corresponding hotel desk are quite small. Please enjoy following picture:

  7. One of these testers is a good and cheap way to check for grounding. You should be able to pick one up at any hardware store.

    Electrical-Receptacle-Wall-Plug-AC-Outlet-Ground-Tester.jpg

    how do they work?

does one of those three red levers flick up if ground is not working properly ?

The picture above is not sharp enough to read the exact specs.

A simular customer picture exists, presenting following text:

Read instructions before using. 125 Volt, 0.3 W.

(125 Volt does not apply to my area in Thailand)

    Open ground (middle yellow)

    Open neutral (left yellow)

    Open hot (no colors)

Hot/grnd, reverse (left yellow, right red)

Hot/neu, reverse (middle yellow, right red)

    Correct (left yellow, middle yellow)

So, 2 of the 3 lights on the left are yellow and the light on the right is red.

Haven’t found the documentation of the manufacturer.

May be inside the box after buying ?

    Product Features

    · Detects faulty wiring condition in 3-Wire 110-125V AC receptacles.

    · Color-coded indicator lights.

    · Detects common wiring problems in standard outlets.

    Product Description

Simply plug in and view the light pattern on the tester for wiring condition.

    Reviews:

“This tester is cheap for a good reason. The product does not have a ground fault button so consider this issue carefully before purchasing.”

“It doesn't claim to have this button for GFCI test. You should have noticed that before you bought the product. It does exactly what it is supposed to do for a ground test, but does not do GFCI test nor does it claim to!”

Would not use this tester myself due to the 125 Volt spec.

I do appreciate the apparently inaccurate answer given thus far otherwise I would not have found the outlet protectors and all the other nice stuff for babies. Maybe somebody else is capable of pointing us to another more suitable tester which is really applicable to our situation in Thailand ? I do know those testers exists but would love to hear an answer of a person who has actually used one. I prefer to read (check) the actual documentation of the manufacturer first because I do not trust the actual contents of Thaivisa on facevalue anymore (no matter how well intended) and current youtube vids available.
