  1. Yep - had since 2011 - then 2020 Feb 'wipe out' - could not get back. Stuck in Portugal - no Ferries - all cancelled - finallly 'limped out' July. A mess.
  2. Thnxs - the 'complications never seem to stop. I think my best bet is Sandbox and then CM here we come. I can see all manner of pitfalls starting with flight booking and then finding PCR test failing just before flight etc.
  3. I can imagine - all us 'lost souls' out there. I will get back with bit more detail - sorry. Best.
  4. Sounds good - thnxs - I presume Immi still out by CNX Airport? - for a while they were out at a Shopping Mall other direction. Best Rgds
  5. Hi, Charged by who - for what?? Insurance looks Ok - do you mean for any quarantine? Best Rgds
  6. Hi All, Will have to 'shift' a bit if I use the 'Sandbox' entry method ( seems a good idea) - but if have to make extension application within 15 days of arrival. 7 days x SandBox + " PCR tests I believe - then a day or so travel to Chiang Mai + get to Bank for letters Confirmation of Funds (They always need a day for that) + set up all Application Forms + get to Immi Office ( bound to be a weekend somewhere in between all that?). Am I wrong?? Best Rgds
  7. Hi, Yes that's the Lady - very very helpful - when you are a newbee - all can be quite confusing. All best.
  8. Hi Ubonjoe, Great comments from everyone - as usual - thank you. The 'How to' - for ultimate target - Retirement Visa etc - I have pretty much a 'handle' on in particular thnxs to a Thai Visa Lady - NancyL at the start out. I checked a while ago and heard that my 'route' as you outline above is still a 'go'. So it looks like a Sandbox' session ( not been there for a long time ) followed by flight to our 'beloved' Moonmuang Rd, Chiang Mai. Then back to the Gym - I know all Thai friends still there - been in frequent contact. Thnxs All for all. Best Rgds

Then definitely a Sandbox' session ( not been there for a long time ) followed by flight to our 'beloved' Moonmuang Rd, Chiang Mai. Then back to the Gym - I know all Thai friends still there - been in frequent contact. Thnxs All or all. Best Rgds

  11. Hello DrJjack54, I understand your comment ref 30days 50K insurance - makes sense - but that site also states - have to renew before end of 30 days. Wife and I are figuring to try for a full Non Immi O Visa for Retirement as we had before for a number of years - we both have sufficient at Thai Banks - does this mean we have to renew Insurance every thirty days? A bit expensive at over 3000 per 30 days. I am 80 - generally considered 50sh - full head of hair etc - wife much younger. Best Rgds.
  12. Hi Everyone, My wife and I both had 12 month Retirement Visas - spending many months in Chiang Mai with a visit back to Europe/UK every year. Then unfortunately we were in UK when the Virus hit and that was that - stuck. We are both fully vacinnated and want to get back to our previous situation. I have studied all that is necessary but two items come up. 1. The SHA+ or AQ hotel - looks like although totally 'jabbed' etc - we have to use for a couple of days on arrival? Is there such a thing in Chiang Mai?? 2. I am 80 years old but am generally thought to be in my late 50's - full head of hair etc - all teeth - much Gym work. ^^ - just lucky with the Genes ;o)) But the Health Insurance required looks to be a problem because age - any ideas? All a bit silly because due to the Retirement Visa requirements we still have the full funding for each held in Thai Banks which would cover for any eventualities. Hoping for advice. Best Rgds & Health to All.
  13. Thnxs - but what about this Health Insurance - never been ill in my Adult life - double jabbed etd
  14. Hi Everyone, My wife and I ( both Non Thai) managed to get ourselves stranded outside of Thailand when Covid first hit. In fact we had seats on just about the last flight into Bangkok but wife developed a bit of a temperature thought better to hold off - turned out just a bad Cold. We both held 12 month Non Immi 'O' Visa - purpose Retirement via sufficient Funds in Thai Bank. We had held those for maybe 6 or 7 years - now 'expired'. The Funds are still there and we have been waiting to get back once more. On contacting the Thai Embassy UK - it seems that a Health Insurance is now required - plus proof of no Elephantiasis amongst other dodgy diseases. I am 80 years of age - very fit - generally stated I look early 60s. Wife mid 60s. But it now looks to be more or less impossible for said Insurance as there appears to be a 'cut off' point well below my age. We never bothered with an Insurance before simply using Hospital facillities when needed on rare occassions - busted ankle while out running etc - we have 'external' funding to cover anything serious. So is a return to Thailand now but a 'distant dream' in my case? Best to tackle situation once in Chiang Mai? Anybody know where I can get insurance at 80 - minimum cover necessary will do - aka Third Party Fire and Theft for a car. ;o)) ?? The last few years in Chiang Mai were some of the best experienced. Gym - Running - Good Food. Comments welcome. Best Rgds.
  15. Always found CM Immi to be reasonable - considering what they deal with at times never really had a problem. Do you know if route same as before - 30 >> 60 >> 12 month Immi O Retirement. Funds never left - still there. Rgds
  16. Hello Peter, I presume PM = private mail? If so and with your permission of course - how do I do that? My wife ( French ) and myself (English) both had 12 month Non Non immi O's since 2012. Due to a brief illness we missed the last flight 'home'. Now looking to get back to CM - pick up where we left off. A brief contact with you would be most welcome if you can spare the time. Best Rgds
  17. Hello Nancy, I am back on ThaiVisa ( aka Aseannow) - will try to get started once more in Thailand. It was back I think in 2012 that you helped Spouse and I get started with our 12 month Non Immi O Retirement. We loved our time living in Chiang Mai - many Thai friends - then along came the Virus - we were visiting in Europe - last flight back missed - wife poorly - so all went 'overboard'. Now trying for a 'return'. But I never thanked you personally - so about 9 years late - but thankyou for your help back in 2012. Best Rgds
