Sure. Joe Biden is attacking the Supreme Court's decisions just as much as is Donald Trump. Yup.
Joe Biden didn't want to tell anybody about the Supreme Court till after the election. Said voters didn't have the right to know!
Wait and see how he, Harris and Pelosi deal with the Courts and verdicts they don't like should the Democrats win, retain the Congress and win the Senate.
If you think they are more honest and transparent then good luck with that!

I hope so.
But like the US, the UK, France, Germany and all others loosely referred to as the Western Democracies, are facing unprecedented challenges and seem to lack the stalwart talented skilled politicians of the past.
Hopefully, this phenomenon will soon pass and brighter, energized visionary politicians will emerge. And all the Western Powers will emerge stronger, better and more enlightened because of it.
Otherwise the totalitarian regimes will spread their influence.

To put it simply, they are not interested in democracy, only power at all costs.
That appears to be an allegation laid at the door of both parties.
Impeach, fake news, riots, disempower the law, politicize the judiciary, refuse to respect election results.
Notions of a robust but fair campaign, presenting credible facts and policies to an informed electorate are long gone. Now about spite, bile and who can whip up the most accusations and "evidence" to discredit the other.

Totally agree. How the non democratic rulers in China, Russia, Iran, etc must be laughing. And how the ones in those very corrupt democracies, like India, Pakistan and numerous African states, that are always plagued with huge election process rows must be feeling somewhat more normal now.
There were accusations about postal votes in the UK at the last election to. I also remember FB posts claiming vote counting fraud in the Scottish Referendum.
Now, just who would be the likely beneficiaries of spreading attacks on the credibility of democracy and democratic processes I wonder?

I think he's possibly considering being German Ambassador instead, thanks to his German passport. Nothing like edging your bets! ????
Or maybe Trump has him lined up to replace Faucci? Farage was supposed to be moving to the US at one time.

I thought the UK was about to lock everyone up at home for a month?
And France?
Many European countries are re-introducing partial lockdowns as cases rise again. France, Germany, Slovakia, Spain etc.
Boris said at the weekend "that we must take immediate action and start next Thursday" 555!
But on a serious note, there is quite a bit of discussion in legal associations as to the legality of a UK government imposing lockdowns that restrict people's freedoms without due legal process. Boris, like his predecessor Mrs May, needs sharper legal advisers or might be facing a few test cases soon. Successive British governments have had a tendency to ignore the rights of English, Welsh and Northern Irish enshrined in Common Law (Scottish Law is different).

Waste of time and resources. As if a ruling Govt. MP would be found guilty of anything. Even on the off chance she is found guilty, it would be appealed and the case would be in abeyance for at least 25 years. Pareena is as pure as the driven snow... ???? Next...
Time taken to go to court and reach a verdict X years; time taken to go to Appeals Court X + Several Years; time taken to go to Supreme Court X + several years + several more years. If guilty, as a first offender from a very influential regional political family, any prison sentence likely suspended. And a fine that is pocket money to them.
Meanwhile, what has happened to the land in question? Has it been taken back? All their constructions removed, the land being returned to how it was at their expense? Or are they still using it to generate more income?
These things never seem to be concluded.

Wait for the knee-jerk reaction. All foreigners to be banned from using gun ranges.
From the ranges that I've seen, foreigners aren't always welcome unless they are accompanied by Thais known to the range. Presumably they expect the Thai(s) to vouch for them? The ones that allow just anyone with the money to wander in, rent a gun and ammo and bang away should be avoided; and should be much better regulated and managed.

The important word here is "plausibility" ! When you have a convincing liar in full swing, an awful lot of nasty stuff is going to hit the fan, and there is nothing that can be done about it. The liar usually knows that everyone is going to believe them over the other party, and rejoices in creating mayhem. If a reliable witness saw Depp striking Heard then there is a basis for guilt, but if not then there is no solid ground to form a guilty decision.
This decision does look rather odd. But certain sections of the British judiciary are known for odd decisions! That's why the appeals and higher courts are so busy.
Very surprising if he doesn't appeal. Another good pay day for the lawyers but Depp has plenty of money.

The consulate is just a very small part of the cost and what will actually be built there, and as someone else mentioned already, it may be a new Benghazi.
There has been information leaked in the past, and it is available on this forum, what cause the immense cost for what is supposed to be just a consulate
Anyone who thinks this comment is Jatuporns, or that it's any of his business, is delusional, IMO.
He's simply a paid lacky, never elected to any position, in a made up pressure group to represent one powerful family and their cronies' interests.

The man is delusional.
Thailand and the U.S. are maintaining diplomatic relations, and there always has been a U.S. consulate in Chiang Mai. If the U.S. government decides to construct a new consulate building (not with Thai but with U.S. funding, no less), so be it.
Or is the dunce now suggesting that Thailand should break off diplomatic relations with the United States over the curbing of GSP benefits?
Even more so, the wild assumption that China has not yet dispatched a new ambassador to Thailand because the U.S. is building a new consulate-general compound is nothing short of ludicrous.
The non elected mysteriously appointed UDD Chairman delusional - totally! He's simply a mouthpiece for his boss. And not a very bright one at that. Willing to go to jail for the family while they all rat out.
About as false as that photo shopped photo of him.
UDD - no longer relevant. The student's and most young people can see straight through them.

I don't believe any of it, Corbyn is innocent.
And suspending him from the party means nothing, he's still an MP, he still gets a wage, expenses and a vote.
If I were him, I'd be starting my own Labour break-away party, or reviving the 'Socialist Labour party', reduce their number of MPs and split their vote with the proletariat.
The could call themselves the Socialist Workers Party, or Momentum. Oh er, they've tried those already!
Corbyn denies any reality he doesn't like, always has and always will. Time the old fossil was retired.

Of course PTP won't cooperate. Their idea of reconciliation is to hold a vote in the early hours of the morning, after all opposition have been sent home by being told the vote won't be till the next day! And of course, vote to totally whitewash their big boss and give him lifetime immunity.
Luckily for Thailand I think the new younger breed of politically savvy protesters and campaigners for change know PTP too well to be influenced by this gang. And won't let them try and grab power for their own benefit.

Then depending on the vote counting of the parties there will be number of seats........and so on.
But that szenario is impossible here, because Pinochio and his Puppet show annulled the constitution in 2014 politely to their advantage.
Very true. But in a democratic country, you also have a totally independent judiciary (more independent in some than others!), that dispenses justice and enforces law without bias, favor and not based on politics.
Also, the party or parties forming the government usually try to represent all their citizens, not just the ones who voted for them. Rather than rival gangs fighting for control of the trough in order to get rich/richer quick.
The much vaunted Western democracies are also not performing and as information becomes more easily available seem not as whiter than white as they like to pretend. No wonder people all around the world are showing their discontent.

Based on polls? Sure, no need to have elections, just have polls to make decisions. No wonder your country couldn't elect a government and had to run without one if others think like you! Just have a few polls 555!
But only implement them if the polls results fit your agenda of course!

It was the paranoid reaction of the government to the pandemic rather than the pandemic itself which caused these 1.57 trillion losses to Thai tourism.
Instead of gradually opening the country months ago after having learned about the virus and it's transmission and treatment, they decided to block any tourists from coming. So what did they expect, other than ruining the industry?
But of course, there is this masterplan of the generals, to sell the country to China in order to line up the own pockets. So nothing else was to expect.
Yes right. Meanwhile in the real world, WHO recognizes that Thailand has handled the pandemic brilliantly compared to all those wonderful "first world" nations in Europe, the US, Aussie etc. They all put money before people and are now enjoying their second lockdowns, curbs and curfews.
Dumb idea not to close the borders and have millions affected.

Texan Republicans lose bid to halt drive-through voting but fight continues
in World News
Posted
It was the Democrats who refused to respect the last election result, acted like spoilt children and have done everything they could think of to try and discredit and end Trump's presidency early.
Now at election time the Republicans seem to be trying to limit the access to voting. Surely, they should have made challenges to processes way before the election.
The Democrats also tried to challenge the Electoral College process, after Hilary lost, by repeated reference to her winning the popular vote. If they want to propose changes it should be before not after elections and certainly not retrospective.
Which supports the point I was making. Politicians, of both sides of the spectrum in Western democracies, aren't public minded servants, honorable and ethical, seeking to serve their electorates anymore. They are addicted to power, want to rule and many seem to enrich themselves too.
