  1. My thoughts exactly!!
Any recommendations please, not too far from Bkk as we only have 5 days spare due to visiting the places within Thailand during the easter school holidays (UK)
But still want my children to experience songkran

  2. Good morning.
I was planning a visit to Chiang Mai next year with my children (teens) to experience songkran but have heard that C.M is very smoggy and suffers from pollution.
Could anyone recommend an alternative to C.M for songkran Please?
    Thank you so much......many thanks

  3. Basically I intend to live like a Thai as much as possible as I had to have a lot of time off work due to recent sickness so have been unable to save as much as I wanted but don't want to loose the holiday. My kids being half Thai are used to eating Thai food etc so this should cut the cost down a lot.
The only exception is a few excursions
At the end of the day we can live like a faring in faring land but the holiday is to experience Thai culture as much as possible

  4. Good evening.
I am after a little information if any of you living in or have recently visited Thailand?
I used to live in Thailand BKK about 10 years ago but haven't been back since and hope to treat my kids to a holiday there shortly.
I am hoping to come for about a month and not sure how much the cost of living has changed.
We hope to visit Chiang Mai,  Pattaya water park, Hua Hin, Koh Samui and lastly Bangkok.
I was thinking of taking £2000 spending money as hotels will be paid for so its just food and a few tours/days out as Im not much of a drinker.
I would love to hear your thoughts as I have no idea how much prices have changed over the years but Im experienced enough not to pay top Baht tourist prices for things.
    Thank you

  5. Good Morning
I was wondering if you could help me please?
I will be visiting Thailand in April, travelling from the UK to with my daughter to visit my son aged 14 who lives with his mother in Thailand.
We will get the 1 month visa upon arrival but once I meet my son we would all like to visit Ankor Watt in Cambodia. As my son lives in Thailand he will be travelling with his Thai passport as he entered Thailand with it and both me and my daughter will be travelling with uk passports.
I was wondering if we will be allowed re entry to Thailand after our visit on our 1 month tourIst visa granted a week or so earlier upon initial arrival in Thailand as I have never left Thailand and tried to return in a short space of time?
    Thank you

  6. Good morning. Can you please help

My son aged 12 was living in the UK with me and about 3 months ago went to live in Thailand with him mum which hasn't worked out.

As his Thai passport had expired he flew with a valid UK passport and an out of date thai passport and thai birth certificate as he is dual nationality.

I wish to book.his return ticket soon so he can return before Christmas  but concerned as he should get his thai passport next week but what happens if it doesn't come in time.

Can he leave Thailand on an expired thai passport and birth certificate and enter the uk on a valid UK passport.

    Thank you...clive

  7. Hello.

I purchased a ticket for my daughter 10 days ago via the phone in.the uk but something has come up and she can't go on the dates booked

    On the ticket it states

  8. Hello.
    Can you please help me.
My son aged 11 living in Thailand wants some books to read. I have been on Amazon and the cost of sending books is ridiculously expensive for books.
Can anyone please tell me of a cheaper way to send that will guarantee it will get there or alternatively a website that sells and dispatches English books within Thailand
    Thank you very much

  9. Thank you for all your replies...a great help...Im looking at going to Thailand with about 20k GBP and an annual income of approx 10k-15k GBP...I think that I should qualify but may I ask if this money has to be in a Thai or uk bank account and although I won't earn anything for 8 months a year the 4 months that Im in the uk I will earn approx 10k-15k GBP...Just wondering how the thai embassy would look at that as its not a monthly salary 40k the every month but would qualify if it were to be taken as an average throughout the year.
    Thank you

  10. Homeschooling is pretty much as easy or difficult as you wish it to be. I have been homeschooling my 2 children in the UK for a good few years now.
Initialy I got all the negative responses like what about socialisation? However in the uk there are many groups and where I live with the increasing pressure and lack of freedom of thought in schools lately so many families are taking the plunge.
I generally and taking my children to at least 1 activity a day, sometimes more but as these last a minimum of an hour, often longer they have the same if not more socialising than if they were at school.
With the added benefits of 1-1 tuition its a no brainer.
However in Thailand I m not sure about the socialisation aspect (something that I wish to look into soon). Im not sure if there are many home ed groups and I think it depends largely where you will be located.
    Good luck with your journey
