  1. Wichaiyong Pool Equipment & Construction

63/5 Moo 2, Soi Siam Country Club, Bang Lamung, East Pattaya, Pattaya, 20150

    Tel: 038 734 826

I got mine from here. I like these guys. They sell CYA by the Kg and at a good price. Prices are reasonable for other items as well.

  2. Hopefully this isn't too far off subject but my question is how to clean the grout in the pool without draining it first. My pool is only a few months old but the grout wasn't cleaned prpoerly before they filled it so now I am battling trying to get it all nice and white with a small grout brush. It the deep end it is almost impossible to stay underwater long enough to clean anything before i float back up. Anyone have any suggestions or methods i could use? I have tried a long handled brush but it doesn't work well either.

  3. I found the home market on Sukhumvit road a few km south of Home Mart (same side) has the same tanks as Home Mart at about 20% less so worth the short drive. Sorry can't remember the name, sounds Korean, big sign outside.

I have been informed that the round pumps everybody seem to be using here are actually cyclic well pumps (goes on/off to regulate pressure). Homepro, and probably other shops, now stock a new type of "constant pressure" water pumps that are better suited for use with a water tank. I'll definitely get one of those when my old standard well pump gives up. They're a little more expensive but I think well worth the extra cost.

So with this type of pump them a separate pressure tank isn't needed? Any reviews from people who are / have used this style of pump. The main thing i want to get away from is the constant on and off of the pump as well the surging of water pressure as the pump tries to keep a constant pressure when using water.

  4. I have a pretty good Idea on how I am going to build my system now thanks to Ludee and a few others.

I do have one question....I modified the drawing found on this forum (from Crossy i think) to describe my question. Basically if I put the Main water supply to the house through the filter first will there be enough pressure to the house (assuming normal city watre pressure) to use or will the filter reduce the pressure to an unusable pressure? This would be in the case of a power outage where I wouldn't be able to use my pump? See the picture below.

  5. we have inside and around the house done with termite treatment twice a yr, but underneath once or twice every 2yrs.those termites in bkk around soi cowboy and nana are big eatersw00t.gif

I am hoping that with the sytem installed under the foundation will prevent the temites from getting inside the house. I forget now but the company will come once or more a year and apply the chemical.

  6. Cheap MDF based laminate just won't last in this climate so you'll be looking at the more expensive solutions with a thick real wood top layer which can be sanded to re-finish in future.

Before deciding on an engineered wood solution (posh laminate) do investigate the cost of solid wood, it's not nearly as expensive as one may think, indeed it could be cheaper than decent laminate.

Wifey would not accept laminate in our place, we have solid mai daeng parquet.

Are you sure that your rental had laminate floors and not solid wood?

Crossy, you know I am not sure if it was real or not, i just assumed it was laminate, but it did have a gloss or lacquer coat on the top which may have helped.

What was the rough cost of your floor installed? Did you buy it locally? I need to decide on a flooring choice soon and was hoping not to have to go tile.... The real wood I have seen so far is ridiculously expensive though.

  7. I am considering putting in wood laminate floor in my new house but before I do I would like to hear from the forum members on their opinions or experience using it.

Especially the price per sq meter and brand names for the style that you used with pictures if possible.

Hopefully I won't have to worry about termites as we installed a termite system in the foundation of the house, hopefully that will take care of that issue.

I have been reading and alot of people are saying that it only lasts for a few years but one house i rented in the past looked as good when I left as it did when I moved in.

Also is the foam underlay nessasary?

    Any suggestions would be appriciated.

  8. Tuffy I think you looked at a house2+ years ago. Alisa & I sold last year. there are only 2 options company name & that still has risks or an unsfruct which has possible pitfalls to it as well Quicksilver helped me with info on unsfruct & it had a couple of sticky points that could have come back & bit me later. So realistically really as much as you can own land you really can't with all the possibilities. & it takes 1-3 years to get it into court to settle & it is costly. I have been with Alisa 9 years now we have turned 2 houses & about 7 rai over the years. While our relationship is not perfect( I am not perfect by a long shot so I wouldn't even know what that was) neither of us is going to turn face so it is possible if you are tight with your girl.

Whatever is your max number you feel good with parting with in the end(I been married once before in the U.S. & I was glad to walk out with my clothes & my dog ) I don't think even with the land problems you can lose in the end.But maybe not always............. if you look up quicksiver(if he is still on TV) He has an eloquent way of explaining the upside & the downside of both ways. If you straight up don't trust her one of the 2 options are the best.

Good luck hope you are as lucky in this dept. as I am

    Barry

    Long time no see Barry!

Thanks for the info, we are in the process of building now and I just wanted to get my ducks in a row. I think the Usufruct is the best way to go. By no means bullet proof but at least better than nothing especially in the case of death.

  9. Hi Tuffy,

this is the filter I used:

    http://www.pratooaut...i.com/id11.html

If you don't find the filter locally, just give these guys a call.

Make sure you get the ZeoPlus filter material .... they will deliver.

The good thing about these filters, is all the connections are 'union'

style, meaning you can unscrew them all and take the filter out for

    easy maintenance.

If you are in the Chonburi area, I'll be happy to show you my setup ...

building 'larger' a constant pressure system is not quite trivial, and

it took me many years to get it right !

    luudee

    Luudee,

I will take you up on that offer, I would like to see your setup, it might save me a lot of headache in the future. I still have time before i put it in to get it right the first time.
