Cambodia has a 14 self isolation, as said before, you need to deposit 2000.00USD upon arrival . You also need to buy the health insurance policy for 90.00 as well. I've been looking at The Dominican Republic for a trip, There is no test to enter, and no quarantine either. Plus the government is offering free health insurance to tourists for Covid 19.

Also stuck outside Thailand due to work, will be done in late Oct. Have been looking at Turkey, no covid test needed, and no quarantine. Some good deals on Airbnb for long stays. Might be good place to hang out until Thailand opens up.

3 years ago, imported my 19 foot Sea Ray with inboard drive to Thailand from Florida. Only paid the 7 percent VAT tax, and was really easy procedure.

Anyone with common sense can see this is geared toward long stay expats, and those on retirement visas. Not the idea way to return, by at least a way. Due to work, Thailand is my home for the next 3 years. This allows me and others to return to our homes here in the Kingdom. My employer has informed me our rotation schedule has been changed to 7 weeks on to 50 days off. That will allow us the time in Phuket , and at least 21 days home in Northern Thailand. We all have multiple entry retirement visas as well. Flights will arrive in Bangkok, and you will catch a domestic flight to Phuket. flights will only be on certain days. Again not the ideal way, but as lesast a way back home.

Because even those with income or savings have had enough of copy this, copy that..picture this, picture that, wrong colour shirt, bank letter 2 minutes too old and numerous other things immigration throw at them....
100 percent correct. Why would go through all the bul#s^it, when I can pay a agent , spend 10 minutes in his office, and pretty much be guaranteed a visa. Like others here, have the money over 10 fold to do it right, but don't want the hassle. Sounds like you need to get a part time job for couple years to even afford a ticket here.

Not sure if this the right area to post, if not feel free to move. I have a friend in the states that needs a medical procedure and would like to have it done here in Thailand than in the states due to the virus. Is there a web site that details the steps needed to get a medical tourism entry into Thialand ?

Good info, just bought a used car, and planning some road trips from Kanchananburi, where I live.

it is a threaded hole used to mount optional brackets , and is closed so no oil can leak out.

This is a good sign.
If it all goes good, then things can kick on from there, which is albeit a small step towards tourism normality.
I For one, am SO sick and tired of the scared little bเtch mentality
of posters on here,
always moaning how there will be no international travel for years and how Thailand will be closed for another 2 years.
So many have hopelessly swallowed the MSM bullsหit, hook line and sinker.
Scared miserable people.
Y'all might as well jump in your own graves now and be done with it.
Could not have said better myself. most sensible post yet.

Need some help on getting insurance for a 1989 Toyota Hi Lux pickup. Bought it to tow my jet ski to and from the river to the petrol station. What class or insurance would I need ? Have great medical insurance now, just want something that pays if I hit someone.

No license is needed, as they are not considered boats, but a watercraft. That is why they are exempt from regulations such as lighting, ventilation, and so on which would apply to boats. I have three here in Kanchanaburi, and on the weekends ride with some of local tourist police. If you have a light jet ski, usually a two stroke, you can launch it from the beach, a trick is to lower the air pressure in the trailer tires to provide more contact surface with the ground. A newer 4 stroke will will need a hard ramp to launch because of the weight. Another option would be to launch using a beach cart. The sea doo dealer in Bangkok can get you one. On the trailer hitch any welding shop can fabricate one for you. Mine cost 5000 baht for my Toyota Hi-Lux, installed.

Agreed, no need to isolate. I live in Kanchanaburi and travel to Bangkok once a week, and only the buses were being stopped at the 2 check points.

I second this.
He can also be seen at Bumrungrad, that's why I asked which doctor.
In this case, for a 3rd opinion, I would consult him not at Bumrungrad (loss of face issues). Maybe cheaper that way, too.
Thanks for the links. Going to get a opinion at Sirrija.

Looking for Doctor/ Hospital in Bangkok to get 3rd opinion on a heel fracture surgery from motor bike accident. Doctor from Bumrungrad says surgery is needed to pin the heel in place, and Doctor from Mission Hospital says not needed. Looking for a 3rd opinion from Hospital in Bangkok area.

I traveled to Bumrungard last Friday from Kanchanaburi, only one check point and was wavied threw the checkpoint. Have a appointment this Saturday as well.

Thailand had the first case of Covid-19 recorded outside China on 13th January. As we all know, until very recently the Thai government did little or nothing to stop the spread of the virus. Indeed, by refusing to close the borders to Chinese tourists and even encouraging them to still travel here, it seemed to be actively encouraging the virus to spread further.
We've all seen in Italy, Spain and now the US how alarmingly fast the virus spreads once it gets going, with the number of new cases doubling every few days. And yet somehow that hasn't happened in Thailand, in spite of the government apparently (but hopefully unwittingly) doing its level best to maximise the chances of the pandemic spreading like wildfire here.
Some people, I know, will claim that there's a hidden epidemic going on in Thailand with thousands of cases every day being concealed from the public to hide the true numbers, but if that's so then I'm afraid I don't see any evidence of it. We have members with Thai partners all over the country, so where are the live reports from TV members of people collapsing coughing in the streets, or hospitals overflowing with dead bodies and medics desperately triaging patients for the few ventilators available, as is happening in northern Italy and Madrid? I don't see them, so it's not unreasonable to conclude that it's not happening, or on a much smaller scale than some people here seem to think is the case.
There may be a number of reasons for this, my favourite explanation is still that the virus doesn't much like the heat and humidity here and so can't transmit itself as effectively as it does in colder, drier climes. The fact that most Thais spend a lot of time outdoors rather than stuck at close quarters in a stuffy small room probably helps as well. It may also be that the original strain back in January was a mild version, while now the world is facing a different, more aggressive mutation, which hasn't has enough time to get going here yet (though the original strain here was presumably the same one that caused Wuhan to be isolated, and that was hardly a mild version given how many deaths it caused).
Yes, the official numbers are probably an artifact of limited testing, but they're not inconsistent with what I see when I drive around Pattaya. There's no sign of a plague in action other than the government's response in closing things down, when to judge by what's happened in Europe and the US we should be recording thousands of new cases daily and probably a thousand or more deaths. But I just don't see it happening on the ground, does anybody else?
Excellent, and very sensible post. A Finnish, and Spain study found 95 percent of cases have been in temperatures between 28, and 50 F .

If immigration accepted your passport for processing, you are OK. You will not be considered to be on overstay even if your passport is not returned before April 13. You should plan on visiting immigration on the first day after Songkran (what a nightmare!) just in case the conversion was denied (unlikely) to apply for an extension of your permission to stay without overstay penalty.
Thanks for the info, thought as much, but wanted to make sure. Agent said same, always nice to have second opinion.

I turned my US passport into immigration this Monday for the one year visa, was told it will take around 21 days to process and be mailed back to me, ( used a agent ).
My tourist visa expires on April 13th. Even if I don't have my passport back by them, will I be in overstay ? Sorry if this dumb question, first time I have done this.

Flown them several times this year both economy, and business. Have not noticed a change. I usually go to my trips and and choose the aisle before check-in at no charge. As a US licensed Aircraft mechanic, I find their aircraft in very good shape, have no problems flying them.
-
As another US citizen, rented cars several times, and never had problem. Always use a credit card, both Visa, and Master Card, as they provide rental car insurance at no charge. Always take photos of the before renting, and email them to the company, person renting before driving off. Easy, and simple.

Was thinking of using United States Postal Service, always received the package in 7 days. Just not sure what value to write on the customs form, or maybe just write personal items with a low value.
