  1. Need advice on which visa to get, as there seems to be ever changing rules from Thai Immigration. I'm US citizen with a US passport age 56. For the next year will be working in Middle East\Asia area for 21 days on, and have the rest of the month off. Plan on renting a small house in Koh Chang for the year. So in effect, will be retuning to Thailand every 21 days for 10 days. Which visa should I get ?

  2. Lived in Chiang Rai in 2013 in June , loved it, but rained all the time . Looking into Hua Hin area, Was alos thinking of Koh Chang, but, again more rain than sun this time of the year. Never had been to Hua Hin, so looking forward to it. Can I get a tourist visa in Cambodia ?

  3. Leaving my current job, and will be starting another in Oct. Looking for advice where to spend 4 months in Thailand  until the new job. Not looking for the usual tourist spots, but somewhere maybe rent I could small house or flat and just chill out. Possibly somewhere scenic, photography is my hobby, and maybe has a little nightlife. Have set a max budget around 98,000 Baht per month, plus emergency fund.  Also, should I buy or rent a motor bike ?  a would  assume a tourist visa would be the way to go ?

  4. Well came back today from Cambodia. Was very easy to do. Thought I would post step by step info for anyone else.( At Hat Hek crossing )

A Park bike on Thai side and with your green book and passport head to window number 2 on the Arrival building ( building on right side looking towards Cambodia)

B At window 2 the girl will print some forms for you to sign and the charge is 6 BHT

C Take the forms and your passport and stamp out of Thailand ( building across from arrivals)

D With the forms from window 2, go to customs and present your paperwork. Customs office you will sign a book, and they will give you a copy of the customs form, which you will need to get the bike back into Thailand. Walk your bike to the gate and give them the card and your done !! Took about 10 minutes for everything .

In Cambodia no paperwork is need for the bike. Get your visa and go.

To get the bike back into Thailand ,

Go to window 2 and show them the customs form. Stamp back into Thailand and with the present the customs form at the customs office. Walk the bike back into Thailand.

Have heard about the daytime headlights with the police. Had no issues. In fact, had a great time !! If you take your motorbike , YOU MUST go the the waterfalls 15KM from Koh Kong. Great day to spend the day , you can go swimming at the top and below the falls.
