Would there be any benefit in having a Thai Visa agency get the non O for you ?

For some of us we DI ourselves because we enjoy it. Helps with being productive and deriving some satisfaction from a job well done. But with cheap labor can certainly be choosy about what projects are best done by someone else.
Well said. I enjoy working on my jet skis, and dirt bike, now for the Honda Click, always take to the local shop.

It is their country, their language, either learn Thai or go back to the Uk.

2019 I entered Thailand 7 times with a US passport and nothing was ever said to me. Always got the 30 day visa exempt stamp. I did ask the immigration office where I do my TM 30, and was told there is no limit to entering on a visa exempt by air. This was last month.

Have a question that relates to this, Is working on your own motor bikes, and vehicles illegal ? I have a jet ski and dirt bike, and as hobby like to do my own repairs.

It's 100% up to the immigration officer. I have 7 SE TV's in my passport and never had a problem. I'm leaving for Thailand again next week. Never had any issue before. Get a study visa mate.
I have now 7 visa exempts in my US passport in 2019. Usually stay 3 weeks than leave. Never had a issue, most of the time the officer never looks at me.

I am US citizen myself, just did mine at the Kanchanaburi office last week. Down loaded the Tm7, filled out on the computer, printed and signed it. You will need a 4×6 cm passport photo, Copies of Tm 30, and passport pages. Took about 20 minutes total. I was here a week into my visa exempt, and had no issues.

As a US Citizen myself, have entered Thailand this year 8 times on visa exempts, and nothing was ever said to me. I always use the arrival service and use fast track lanes. Like some have said on here, a US passport is like a hall pass.

Thanks for the info. As I work for the US gov't, and have to travel to Bangkok thought I would get one there.

Going to the US Embassy in Bangkok for a statement of residency. I would assume I take that to Thai Immigration office, and exchange for a Thai copy ? Want to buy a motorbike in my name . Is there anything I will need ? Have a Thai motorcycle license.

Just entered Thailand on on my 7th visa exempt this year, ( US passport ). Went to the booth, only right finger prints, and was out in less than 2 minutes. As usual got the 30 day visa exempt, and nothing was said to me. Did not ask for anything.

Was reading another post here, and it menations you are only allowed 6 visa exemptions by air per year. Never heard of that before. My situation is I work month and half, and return to Thailand for 2 weeks per cycle. So far, have 4 visa exemptions and nothing has ever been said to me. Is the 6 time limit for real ?

Yes they still do a affidavit for you to state your place of residence.
You will complete a blank affidavit to do it.
Sent from my Lenovo TB-7304X using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
Thanks, I assume the affidavit is online ? Anything else I will need ?

Anyone know if the US Embassy is still issuing certificate of residency ? Checked the website, and did not find anything. Want to put a motorbike in my name in Kanchanaburi. Expats there tell me immigration is difficult to work with. Also, what documents would I need ? Do have one a one year lease agreement.

Have noticed a trend lately, from working on my motor bikes, to printing something off a USB drive, the answer is always "no, no, no". Has anyone else encounter this ? Seems with the high Thai baht, most shops or repair shops, don't want our expat business. Is it me, or has anyone else notice this ?

I have a hard time believing this post. But if true, you don't have emergency credit card for backup ? I always have a least 2 back up cards, stored separate from my wallet, and have the account numbers written down for extra security. As you are posting this, you must have a computer, and or mobile phone. Do what many have suggested, sell what ever you have, call your mom to send money via Western Union. Get yourself home ASAP, and stay there until you learn to be more responsible.

Thinking about Kanchanburi, or Chaing Rai. Spoke to someone who is there, says rains around 4pm, for hour or so, and stops.

Looking for suggestions to go in places in Thailand, or South East Asia during the rainy season. Have about a month and half before I go back to work. In Koh Chang now, where it has been rainy everyday 95 percent of the time. Looking for somewhere there is maybe 1 to 2 hours of dry weather, or even sun per day, or ever other day.

Sorry, I know this has been asked before, did some reseach still not sure.
Ok, would like to open a thai bank account to start the 12 month deposits for the income route.
What type of visa will I need to open a account ? I will be arriving next month on a Visa Exempt, (US passport). Will I need a tourist visa first ? As I will be coming from Dubai, hate to spend the airafare to fly back to the states for just a visa. Also what other doucments will I need ? Any branch better than the other ? Will be renting a house in both Chaing Rai, and Ko Chang for a year.

Would not choose Purto Rico, worked there 3 months on a job for oil company. Dirty, expensive, may or may not have power most days. In the 90's was the place to go, unfortunately the government never maintained the infrastructure, calling 3rd world is a compliment.
At present, live in Chaing Rai, but looking at Cambodia hard.

Again thanks for all the replies. Another issue is I will not be able to go back to the states before my new job assignment. So my plan now is to try the visa exempt. Would like to buy my own motor bike, keep it at the rental house, so I will need to apply for tourist visa maybe in Laos ? Would like buy new Kawi 250 from a dealer.

Thanks for all the replies, the retirement visa might be the key. There are services on the web, and here that advertised getting visas, they even provide the 80k in the bank. Are they legitimate ?
