Dude, you could be anyone asking questions like that? And if someone was on a good thing like that why would they share it with the world?

I am trying to help a foreign high school student that wants to live here find info about this, I do faintly recall over the years reading people commenting on posts from time to time about working here on a work permit and making over 80k+ baht a month and to not take over someone else's topic that is not related to my topic, I opened up this topic.

Plus to apply for PR or citizenship and not being married to a Thai, you have to have a minimum income of 80k baht per month from work performed within Thailand and you have to have a work permit, paying taxes etc for at least 3 years.

    That is the correct address.

I assume you are getting the message to contact your local office.

Many people are getting it for no apparent reasons. It appears to be due the system checking previous reports for the permit to stay date and/or the previous report online date.

Had to do two 90 day reports in person since renewed the ext of stay because could not do them online.

  3. Use to be able to use 90 day online all the time but sometimes would have a problem every now and then with one of my kids report but not all the time.

Have renewed extension and have reported twice in person and still cannot do this online.

Am I using the wrong web address?   I cannot get to the second page of the report where you put in your address etc and before I have never had a problem with doing my own 90 day report online.

Tried Chrome and also internet explorer with no add ons mode and nothing works.

  4. Once saw a youtube video about how Thailand is lacking doctors and how at least at that time there was a government program that sponsors Thai people to become doctors but they have to work for the government for a certain period of time in rural hospitals.

Time passes and met some expats and Thailand healthcare came up and they said it was odd that Thailand says they lack doctors but then they will not let foreigners directly get a Thai medical license here, even if a foreigner would graduate from Thai medical college doctors program with regular Thais that studied to become doctors. The medical counsel of Thailand will not let the foreigner take the Thai medical doctor's license exams but the foreigner that graduated from the Thai medical doctor's course with regular Thais would have to go to another country and get a medical license there in another country and then come back to Thailand and take the Thai medical doctor's license exams, even though the foreigner graduated from a Thai medical college doctor's program here in Thailand with regular Thais. They said they know this because one of their expat friend's children that reads, writes, and speaks Thai wanted to go to a Thai medical school that teaches in Thai and become a doctor here in Thailand but when they researched to see if this was possible the Thai medical counsel told them that even if their child graduated from a Thai medical school that teaches in Thai, the foreigner could not take the Thai medical doctors exam but would have go to to another country and get a medical license and then come back to Thailand and take the Thai medical doctor's license exams.  This was several years ago so if anyone knows that this is not correct please let me know and I will relay the info because I still have contact with the people that told me this and their friend's child is still in high school.

It won't help the many on this forum who are too old or too ill to obtain decent private medical insurance.  These kinds of insurance can provide peace of mind for a reasonable cost if:

1 - You take out cover at a younger age BEFORE you get sick with high blood pressure, diabetes etc etc. Your premiums will be reasonable and will only increase in line with others in that same age group.

2 - You choose an expat policy which covers you for life, (ie they can't kick you off the policy when you reach say 70 or 80 years old)

3 - You choose a policy which can't kick you out if you make a claim on that policy, and can't increase your premium payments if you make claims.

There are various such policies which will life-cover of say $1 million per year, for a reasonable premium.  I pay about $205 each month for this level of cover at aged 62 years old, with no exclusions. That's because I took out cover BEFORE I got sick (BTW, I still don't have any age-related illnesses, because I look after my health....).

I look on my medical cover kin to fire insurance on my house.  I have peace of mind and hope I never have to claim on it ????

So my advice is - don't wait until you have high BP - you'll find it difficult/expensive to get decent medical insurance.  Oh, if you already have high BP, maybe ask yourself why - it's rarely an inherited condition, more to do with your unhealthy lifestyle!

What insurance companies have these policies?

The reason the ACH transfer failed is because Schwab, nor any other US banks, uses the ACH "International ACH Transaction (IAT) format; instead, they use the ACH Domestic format.  As of late last year Bangkok Bank finally implemented the policy of only accepting the ACH IAT format for an ACH transfer meant to be forwarded to Thailand.  They were suppose to implement 1 Apr 2019 but delayed it till late 2019.   If an ACH transfer hits Bangkok Bank NY for forwarding to your in-Thailand Bangkok Bank acct, the NY branch will reject it if not in ACH IAT format.

Now you can do a "Domestic Wire" from Schwab using the Bangkok Bank routing number and acct number as you used for an ACH transfer.  The NY branch will then forward it on to your Thailand acct, but the same two Bangkok Bank fees (i.e., the NY fee and in-Thailand receiving fee) will apply just like in a ACH transfer that you use to do.  And of course there will be the Schwab Domestic Wire $25 fee unless you have at least $100K in total assets with Schwb.

You can also do an International Wire (a.k.a., SWIFT)....once again there will be the Schwab International Wire fee of $25.  As this will not go thru the Bangkok Bank NY branch there will be no fee by the NY branch, but there will still be the in-Thailand branch receiving fee.

You should also consider opening a Transferwise  acct....works fine and fast for transfers to Thailand.

Does anyone know how much Bangkok Bank NY charges to receive a domestic bank wire from a US bank to forward to a Bangkok Bank account in Thailand?

  7. how to pay pea electric, pwa water bill etc online with foreign cc?  Used to use counter service pay website and it worked well but within the past 2-3 months every time I try the payment does not go through.

Have looked at ais mpay but its only for Thais

Tried easybills but when you put in acc number for the bill, easybills pulls the amount owed from the provider ie pea or pwa etc and if the amount owed has satang/cents like 100.25 baht owed, the easybills website says they cannot process this amount it has to be a whole amount with no satang/cents but you cannot adjust the amount to a whole number with no satang/cents.

Looked at Airpay but cannot use a foreign cc.

Chiang Mai native; lived, worked, studied in the U.K., fluent English, and quite good in the profession.

Is this Dr Ben a Thai person? because I have seen on another archived topic that talked about a Thai person from here in CM that went abroad and studied and is now back in CM.

Also does anyone know how much it costs to see this Dr Ben? Thanks

Your 2011 H1 likely uses a rebadged Nissan RE5R05A transmission.  Aftermarket valve bodies inc. solenoids should be available. Try a transmission rebuilder.  A supplier in Malaysia (Henlai) certainly sells these but I don't know about shipping and import tax.  Cost should be around 10k THB.

Any suggestions on how I can find out if the transmission is really a rebadged nissan?

I asked our some garages and they pointed me to one place that works on transmissions and I went there and they told me they rebuild transmissions but do not rebuild or replace the solenoids etc because of the expense.

And the problem I am having is with a solenoid.
