Have 2 sets of educational books that cannot be bought here, the reshipping company that we use in the USA has said that USPS mail has raised their shipping rates on them because of covid. The cost to send these are USPS $473       Fedex $182       DHL $298

    Which would you pick?

I do not know if this person was unluckly or what but one time a friend told me of a person in CM that had Fedex send them somethings they ordered from the USA and Fedex wanted to charge them several hundred dollars more in custom fees than the total cost they paid for the stuff. But after going back and forth with Fedex for almost two weeks, they got Fedex to lower their “custom fees” to a reasonable amount.

Has anyone ever used Fedex or DHL to send educational books or supplies to Thailand?

Or used Fedex or DHL to send anything else to them and either of these tried to force them to pay “custom fees” that were more than the item you bought?  If so, did you paid the amount they asked or what did you do to get them to lower their fees?

    Thanks so much

Why keep posting questions with no information, what car, what parts, you can get car parts here.

I typically first do searches on Priceza, Shopee and Lazada to find items and cost spreads; sometimes fine-tuning my keyword search I'll also do a broad google search looking for SEA or Thailand online stores. If it's a mechanical part I really want to find OEM to try and avoid buying junk knockoffs that'll fail.

As the previous poster intimated, where you look will really depend on what car, what part, etc.

Sorry, I was thinking that if there are any websites in Thailand that sell car parts that it would be like a one stop shop like many websites outside of Thailand are.  I did not know that the websites here that sell car parts are only for specific car parts and not for almost everything.

Looking for the prices of automatic transmission solenoids or a whole transmission value assembly for a 2011 Hyundai H1 which if like several car part websites outside of Thailand this assembly would include all the solenoids, wiring, etc etc etc.

With two machines so similar it's going to be subjective.

Find a place which stocks both and have a physical examination. Check the build, keyboard feel, weight, battery life, styling etc. are to your liking (we all have different ideas of what's ok).

As noted above check the upgrade path for RAM, bigger SSD etc.

    And of course, price.

the Dell is about 200 baht more expensive, I do not know of any where in CM that has these in stock, therefore will have to order them from BKK.

We've all heard the cry that it isn't the gun that kills but the person using it.  How can the person use it if there is no gun?

From reading on here and on the internet its been said that it is very hard for a common person to legally buy a commercially made gun here but according to the news there are people that make homemade guns here and I guess there is probably a black market for commercially made guns also. The moral of the story is if a criminal wants a gun they can get one.

If the store had several professionally trained armed guards, then this guy would be severely injured or not alive right now.

i just added the electric as a payee on bkk bank internet banking and login, choose that payee and it shows amount owed if any.

one thing that is extremely important if you will be outside of thailand is to get international roaming for your thai mobile number as you may need to receive passwords etc related to online banking for security reasons. you can turn off data when roaming and sms message are not expensive to receive.

    How did you did this?

I do not see PEA in the payee list on BBK bank online internet banking?

Or did you pay using BBK bank app?

    Thanks

Will try to explain a route to a really good body and paint man but unfortunately don't have his phone details.

Off 108, past Hang Dong Market and turn right at the top toward Ban Dong. Carry on past back entrance to 'Rungaroon 3' Moo Bahn, then Ban Dong Temple entrance on your left as you bear left into village. Take first right next to a corner shop on your left and you are now in a quite narrow soi. Proceed to the end and turn left into a further narrow soi and then on about 350 m. Next to end place on the right of this soi you will see what looks like a yard with a few vehicles in it. Give him a shout or he will be working in the yard. English no good so need your seat cover with you. I know many who have used him and they praise him to the skies. I pass every day on my bike and have seen a lot of his work which appears excellent to me. Don't know about price but would think reasonable from what i've been told.

is this the place you are talking about?

fan at gable vent. make sure there's enough intake on the other end. perhaps you have to make an intake in the eaves. your description is not clear.

are these attic vents with fans in them, what you are talking about?

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells anything like these here in Thailand?

And could you use them with the standard cement roof panels like the red one below

    Thanks

the first step you need is not some tech rubbish² (designed by "thermophysical" ignorants as described above) but a proper ventilation (preferably forced) of your attic.

Are you talking about attic vents or maybe putting a fan at the gable vent?

  11. Have a single story house about 130 sq meters during the hot months the heat from the attic/roof space comes down into the house and it is like an oven. We do not have a/c and keep our windows and doors open.  I am attaching a photo of our roof and more details about it below.

I was thinking of getting the SCG stay cool insulation and having it put on top of the ceilings but I read this post about the SCG insulation blocking the heat in the house from rising up into the attic/roof space and they had to install fans in their rooms to blow the hot air from their rooms into the roof space.

So I am not sure about what to do now and am looking for suggestions.

    **More details about our roof**

The roofing of the house is not the cpac clay roofing tiles but it is the common long roofing sheets, I peaked my head into the roof space and saw one gable vent on the far right hand end of the roof which I drew a small blue circle around on the attached picture.

The large blue circled area is a downward ridge, where two downward sections of the roof meets and goes downwards from the highest part of the roof, I did see some sunlight along this ridge so I am guessing that air can come in or out of these areas but there are no signs of leaks or water coming in etc

The black circled part is an addition that was added onto the house and there is a few cm of space between the roof and the room ceiling.

The whited out part is the neighbors roof, our roofs are just a few cm away from each other.

Thanks so much for mentioning this place! Had a dvd player and needed a remote. Went to two different Amorn stores and Siam TV and none of them had it but this store did.

Took the dvd player with me to make sure I found one that worked and this store was glad that I brought it and they checked to make sure that the remote fully worked.

Yes easily, I have fitted 2 x 12w LED bulbs into each of my Helicopter fans and the standard LED Lighting units in the other fans easily light up the rooms

Sorry for my ignorance but from what you said above does this mean that the fans came with light bulb sockets already and you just screw in the regular or led bulbs?

Or did you modify the fans to have lights on them?
