Can you use google chrome on these?

If so what brand and model box do you have?

As I want to try to find a store here in Chiang Mai that sells it, so I can go see if they will hook it up to make sure I can use google chrome on it and access a website that I use to work.

    Not possible,

Once house and land is registered as a single unit, it can't be split.

As I stated in the OP a foreigner can own a house 100% in their own name but not the land the house sits on. This is just one place that talks about it  www.samuiforsale.com/knowledge/owning-a-house-in-thailand.html but I want to hear from some people that have already done it.

My heirs would have the same rights as I now have, the lease agreement essentially passing into their hands, the right to negotiate a second 30-year lease included.  A difficult landowner, however, could possibly make this a bit knotty if determined to do so, although in my case I do not expect any such problem (keeping in mind the country in which my wife and I, both farang, live).  As the second 30-year period approaches, the leasee(s) would always have leverage, in that as a last resort they could dismantle all structures and sell them for scrap.   Removing a several-million-baht house, depending on location, could be a severe blow to the value of the property overall, maybe enough to encourage the landowner to consider working something out.

What jangwat did you register this in?

  4. If you have ever bought an already built house (not the land) in your own name, please share how you went about the process.

What amphere and jangwat do you live in?

Did you make a lease or usufruct or superficies for the land the house was already built on?

Did you use a lawyer?          And about how much did the lawyer charge?

How long ago did you do this?

Yes easily, I have fitted 2 x 12w LED bulbs into each of my Helicopter fans and the standard LED Lighting units in the other fans easily light up the rooms

Sorry for my ignorance but from what you said above does this mean that the fans came with light bulb sockets already and you just screw in the regular or led bulbs?

Or did you modify the fans to have lights on them?

If you want the best the buy a DC MrKen they are whisper quiet, good looking, have 6 speeds, and use around 1/10 the electricity of an AC unit. You can have metal, ABS or wood blades

Does the light on these fans light up the whole room like a standard ceiling light?

  7. Hello everyone,

I am wondering of any potential problems of having a house built between May to September.  Any information and insight will be great!

I am also currently looking for a well recommended trustworthy builder that I would not have to check everything they do to make sure they are doing the job right that would come work in Hang Dong, Chiang Mai.

    CTH?

I supervised our house construction but fortunately had been in the trade before. Was a good learning curve (with masonry) and also sacked many trades incl. the principal builder's supervisor. Saved a lot of headaches in long run but not for the faint hearted.

Examples: Took 4 goes to get internal staircase formed correctly otherwise we'd have been missing one step. Electrician hadn't been paid by builder for rough-in and would complete final fit-off and mains connect despite guaranteed payment (for final) from me. We got another crew and deducted original total from builder. Many trades arrived onsite without copy of plans, tape measure, square, level and other essential tools... I supplied them.

As mentioned earlier, our next builder will be one of 2 we now know to be highly professional and with rates between 12 and 16k all up.

One can build for less, ~ 9k if supervising and hiring labour only.

Can you give me the contact info of the 2 highly professional builders you know and their websites or facebook pages. Thanks

Seems you are not really into coffee as you're considering instant coffee.

There are very good Thai ground coffees available. Why only shop in BigC ?

The internet is a great source to find real good Thai coffees from the North.

Arabica, the milder one, or Robusta, the stronger one, plus some very good blends.

In the end it's always a matter of personal taste.

You can do a thousand varieties even with instant coffee. The ratio coffee powder to water, the kind and the amount of sugar, as well as the kind and amount of milk or creamer matters a lot.

Get started with experimenting and enjoy every sip.

My suggestion would be Nescafe Gold Swiss instant coffee.

Change the brand every time you buy coffee.  And you get what you pay for, so don't buy cheap.

I stated Big C because it is near and I am guessing probably cheaper than 7-11 but if anyone knows of any instant coffee forsale online, I will look at it also.

  11. 2012 Hyundai H1 diesel automatic transmission and sometimes when I step on the accelerator the engine does not have anymore power. It is like it is stuck in that power range or muffled and cannot give anymore power. This is when going around 60-80 km per hour
But I can pullover and turn off the engine and wait 2-3 mins and then start off again and it has the power it should, then sometimes it may do it again and I pullover and do the samething.
Any suggestions as what it could be.
