  1. I normally round up to the nearest 100, and maybe put a couple of extra 20's down if in a bar or chilled restaurant.

Street vendors i normally just pay 20 baht extra than the asking price.

Also give the building management 10-15,000 THB at New Year for the end of year party. This year a maid and security guard won 5,000 each, and they sent pictures of them collecting their prize.

I bought this for towing my kayak to the local lake, but if I ever get into a wheelchair, this is one of the first things I'd buy for mobility around the neighborhood.  48V, 20km+/hr, and goes over 10 km on a charge (never tested the range beyond 10 km- that's the distance between the dealer and my apartment in China).  Easy to get on and off and fun.  I've seen them in Thailand, a lot around Chinatown in BKK.

Glad the guy's got resources so he can afford to modify his home and his lifestyle to suit the new reality.  I've known 2 kinds of people who took to a wheelchair.  Those who resigned themselves to their fate, and those that made the modifications to make the most of their new life.  Guess who had more fun?  Back home, there are consultants who make a living helping people modify their homes, with elevators, grab bars, wider doorways, etc.  I'd hope the same exist in Thailand.

FFS he has some money and self respect..... not going to get much bonking towing in that piece of crap... needs something with exhausts, no mufflers and a tow truck to put the ladies... that set up is getting now street cred. Not to mention probably flattened in Thailand.

  3. I just get in the car and keep quiet and get to my destination, why on earth would i care what music the drivers playing.. I am an adult i can just sit there and ignore it if its really that offensive. Generally even if i dislike music being played... it is never going to bother enough to go through the rigmarole of asking the driver to change it or trying to connect my blue tooth to the system lol

  4. Kai probably the best one I have had.. Feels less commercial than the typical pub ones which just feel like conveyor belts of microwaved boiled rubbish.

Personally find none of them come close to a home cooked one.. And generally are bland and disappointing.

However, the Ministry of Finance emphasized that money transfers would only be available to tax-registered entities.

taxation without representation. way to go sreta scrotum. by the way... do we do this to others in our own civilized countries?

What on earth are you talking about?

PR holders can take a loan up to age 70 from a Thai bank. Mine is from UOB and was issued in Thai with Thai conditions. I have suggested UOB to a friend who got PR last year, and he also applied and got it approved. Only problem is that even at UOB, most staff don't even know what PR is, and start throwing out conditions that make no sense at all. Once you get to the correct person, however, they'll give you very good guidance on what's needed and how to get it done. Obviously, like Thais, your specific conditions (credit rating, outstanding debt, income, and amount/percentage of property value as well as their own assessment of the property quality) would come into play when considering whether to grant it or not. At least with my bank, you can overpay and finish early, but even if you overpay, you still need to pay at least fixed amount the next month.

Could you message me the contact at UOB please.

would they be forced to " only own" 49% of the company, have to go thru the unnecessary mind blowing paper work & duplicate/triplicate copies, etc., .... if so, I doubt they or anybody else would be interested

They own 100%? Why would they not? Why would they need to give Thais 51% of their business?

AWS have invested here, Google have already announced they are investing, Microsoft typically follow AWS.

Yeah there is paperwork, but they are big companies with big resources so a bit of paperwork is not going to put them off... thats why they pay lawyers.

It’s okay asking these companies but what was there reply back to him dare I say maybe we will consider it in the future when there is a democratically elected government in place with zero military interference I can just see Ellen Musks big smirk on his face when the PM asked him for his billions !

You are aware Tesla's largest manufacturing base is in China are you? I dont think Tesla care about Democratic elections. Google have already announced 6 months ago they are investing billions for Google Cloud and Amazon have already started developing a number of data centers in Thailand.....

    All foreign investors ...?

What about granting land ownership to foreign investors ...?

What about easing the overstay rules ?

Thailand is not a liberal country with a functioning democratic system .

Too many coups as well to be confident in investing here ...?

He just wants to paint a picture of Thailand that is not ( yet ) true .

He is speaking about business, not retirees.

What about granting land ownership to foreign investors ...?

Foreign investors can own land 100% freehold inside designated Industrial zones where most investors want to locate. Other sectors outside industrial can be affected more, but many large corporate can live with 30 year leases- in fact many of them dont want to tie up their capital in land and buildings. Most of the big hotels dont own the land either nor do they really want to. They just operate the hotels.

What about easing the overstay rules ?

Its completely irrelevant to what he is talking about for business.

Thailand is not a liberal country with a functioning democratic system .

Too many coups as well to be confident in investing here ...?

Coups is an issue, but underneath the top fighting things plod along in most sectors regardless of who is in power. None of the bickering political factions want to kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
