About time that the Immigration imposed some more restrictions on the type of people coming from Britain, Russia and Australia these days.
And how would they do that? It would be quite a job for a profiler to week out people that get pissed, pick up a bar girl, get into a fight.....

Lucky he is in LOS, could have ended a lot worse in many other countries.

Really, how likely is that? I am pretty sure one BKK person can tell another one.

Some of those are available in LOS:

According to HBW, it is Fulvous-breasted.

That is the way I see it, too. If I was sitting next to someone barreling down a street the wrong way, I would tell him to either turn around or get the hell out.

Well, if it wast the pick-up going the wrong way on a one-way street then at least the right people paid the ultimate price.

Caning? Just learnt they still do that in Singapore. Ridiculous in this day and age.
Good to know Singapore is a beacon of virtue for the Asean community.
Not much graffitti in Singapore.

Here in Vietnam I think I paid USD 125. Not sure as my company takes care of it.

Vietnam has become fairly tough on visas. Companies can only employ a certain number of foreigners, I believe it is 3 foreigners for as 100 local staff. At the moment I can only get a 3-month multiple entry visa though I do not know if this only applies to Cambodia.

I have lived in Vietnam for 15 years before moving to Cambodia. There are many parts I love but I hate HCMC. Traffic is horrendous with people riding their bikes down sidewalks and traffic lights being largely ignored. The noise levels are terrible, the Vietnamese share that trait with the Chinese.
Having said that, the food is great and if you can stay in one of the more affluent districts, life is good. I do not agree that nobody speaks English but it would be wise to try and learn some Vietnamese quickly.

and let him know with facial expressions and several f curses that he was a lying filthy dog
I am sure he was quivering with fear:-)

About time, too. Last week no power for three days as a truck driver again took out a pole of the single line supplying electricity to Siem Reap.

I am supposed to be sitting in Hua Hin right now but then Michelle Obama decided to come to Siem Reap. Very inconsiderate;-)

Another nail in Thailands tourist-coffin.........................
Ah yeah? Hotel occupancy is up, ADR is up, do what gives?

Agreed. I have no problems with jet skis per se, I do have a problem with the plonkers that need to show off right next to the beach.

That looks like a Marabou. A little far from its home....

I have generally been lucky with taxi drivers but I do remember a rather unpleasant episode many moons ago: I had arranged for a taxi to pick us up early the next morning to take us outside BKK for bird watching. Taxi showed up at 4 or 5 as agreed and off we go. When we are in the middle of nowhere, on a highway, the driver decides that he needs to take his car back and dumps me and my then wife right there. Still dark, no clue where we were, but another taxi comes along. We jump in happily only to be told a couple of kilometers down the road that he, too, had to go back. The third taxi finally got us where we wanted to go.
Not nice but just another story. Since then, it has been mostly smooth sailing.
And I do have to admit that like some fool I too had an argument with a taxi driver when he asked for the toll as I was not aware that I had to pay for it.

I have met folks that have lived in Thailand for a long time and had not much of a clue about their country, being stuck in a rut of the same foreign-owned eateries and bars....

I have ever only been in Thailand during Songkhran. That was in Krabi last year and it was a very civilized affair. Always avoided it before, not least at all because of comments on ThaiVisa:-)
Here in Cambodia there is hardly any throwing of water as the government banned it years ago.

I don't know what world they are living in, but starfish and sea cucumbers are not endangered by a long shot. More ridiculous shenanigans from the Thai government where they are only going after a small business man who has no clout. It should be more than enough to give them a warning and do it quietly, not blather it all over the news as if they are really doing something.
Actually, many sea cucumbers are endangered as there is a huge demand in China: http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~kpt/terraquest/galapagos/issues/harvest/cukes.html
Typical for TV: when laws are not enforced, the Thai bashing starts. And when they are enforced? Ditto.

Thailand ranked among the cheapest places to buy a beer
in Thailand News

Beer is considerably cheaper in neighboring countries than in LOS. I actually find that drinking in Thailand has become pretty expensive.
