  1. Hello, i returned to Thailand on 8th Oct after a short holiday in England, and at immigation received my last 90 days on my multi non O immigrant visa [based on marriage ] which has now expired on Oct 21st.

The plan was then that i would go to Savannakhet in January and get a new multi o visa, i go there as no proof of funds required and not a long trip either.

However ive just heard that my Mum has passed away so i want to go back to England. Now im not in the mood to go savannakhet now and get the visa before travelling back home, so im thinking that i could get a tourist visa from Thai embassy in London and before 60 days are up then go to laos for non immigrant o visa, Not having funds i cant apply for a non o visa in london.

Im pretty sure i have to do this as the airline might not let me board without a visa when i return home to Thailand, or i could have a problem at immigration.in that i wont have an outward bound ticket.

I will check with airline on my return to Heathrow, but if tourist visa is the way to go it seems the easiest solution.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

  2. Its always confusing when some posters say you dont need a letter, and others that you do, but thanks for all your input.

Agreed but you can rely on the fact that ubonjoe(a moderator) and several others have indicated there is no need for a letter.

I hope you saw the link I posted earlier which concerns the process you need to follow to obtain a new UK passport.

    Yes i did and thanks.

  3. Hi, next month im going to laos to get my last 90 days on my non o multi visa before it expires a couples of days later. I then have to go to Bangkok to renew my UK passport as the old one will now be full.

So when i apply for a new visa some time in December can i just present both passports and get my exit stamp in my new passport, or will i need to go to my local immigation office asap and get the last entry stamp in old passprt transfered to new passport. I have heard that i might require a letter from the embassy.

So basically its just the last stamp im concerned about, the visa has expired so thats not the problem. i dont have funds to get any extensions to the non o visa yet.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

  4. HI guys, pretty sure i need to pay a visit to the urology dept of a hospital here in pattaya, would like a consultation, diagnosis, tests etc. any ideas which hospital is best and costs involved. I wont go into gory details but lets just say the old ball bag aint what it should be.

  5. Life is cheap in Thailand, if a person causes an accident where people are killed or injured, they fill no guilt or shame, its MAI PEN RAI, and i will just go on enjoying my life. If a falang is killed, well is tough, if they had not been in this country they would still be alive, so its not their fault. The government and the police are incompetent buffons, so nothing will ever be done to stop this carnage. NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE THE STUPITY OF THAI DRIVERS !!!!!!!!

  6. Hi everyone, i am new to this forum, but have lived in pattaya for the past 2 years, and before that in sakon nakhon. I live on the darkside in nongprue, and it pees me off that i cant get a taxi at night time to take me, the wife, and baby out for the evening. I have a motorcycle, but sukhumvit rd at night ( no thanks!) and the baht bus stops at 6 pm in soi nernplubwan. Im guessing its something to do with the baht bus mafia not allowing it. Any views please ? PS. not in a position to buy car yet !
