I did search but couldn't find anyone who exactly my problem. For the past 14 years I have been teaching either in Bangkok, usually at weekends, or online from my house in Jomtien. For my extension and work permit address, which has needed to be in the same area as my work, I have been renting an apartment in Onnut. So I have been doing the extensions and work permit in Bangkok. Now my company has decided it does not want to renew my contract this year and told me yesterday. This means I have 6 weeks to switch to a marriage extension (I'm married to a Thai) and I don't have the 400,000 Baht seasoned or even in the country yet. If my financial advisor ever answers his emails I hope to receive it in a matter of weeks. I do get a company pension of just over £1000 but I am from UK so cannot get an embassy letter. Therefore, I need to know whether I have to do a temporary visa by exiting the country or whether there is a way to switch to an extension based on marriage without leaving the country. As i live in Jomtien I also need to move my extension to the Jomtien immigration at the same time, so I can quit the Onnut room and save the apartment rental fees. Please let me know my best course of action as I am a bit flustered by it all. Thank you for your anticipated advice

Well we got to Bamnet Narong in Chaiyaphum. The journey from Jomtien took 11 hours. We found one charger that didn't work (the first time we had used a charger since having our home charger fitted) which was a little stressful. Then I took the wrong way and ended up going toward Pattaya with no obvious u turn. Luckily we came across a ptt station with a totally unused charger not mentioned on any app or on the front sign. This gave us a full chatge in under an hour. Which improved menstrual relations between the two main parties. After charging one more time at a PEA site we got fairly close to our in-law's village. But then surprise surprise we passed a ptt station just 42 kms from our destination on the opposite side of the road that looked like it had a charger. We u-turned and found another invisible charger not on any apps or on the sign. So the moral of the story is to ignore the apps and hope for the best and you'll get there eventually! We're at bamnet Narong with 360 kms of remaining charge and a charger just over 40 kms away.

I wrote an email in English to PEA and they've already replied to say that Chatturat is closed. Great service but terrible news

Thank you for this. I did just find Chatturat 25kw PEA charger. I will be heading for that when we go. My Plugshare doesn't look anything like yours and usually shows names in Thai. What am I doing wrong?

If it works and they have enough electric supply after the a/c in the bedroom use, this sounds possible to keep us topped up. It's the not knowing which makes it stressful. I suppose we'll just have to go and give it a go. But Thailand does need to install more chargers in the out of the way places.

It's extremely rural around there with almost no electric cars. We've already asked brother in law if he knew of any chargers. But no luck

Thanks guys for your quick replies. In laws might have 10 amps max. But definitely no earth. Perhaps I can do a temporary one if I take some cable with me

I haven't found the popo station you mentioned but will try to find it. It's hard to know how much we'll be driving but we would like to go fishing and visit family. We'll probably have to cut down. We get 410km range so we'll probably have to play it by ear

In a couple of weeks we need to drive to a very small place in the middle of nowhere Chaiyaphum called Bamnet Narong from our home in Jomtien. My parents in law have low power supply so the plug in charger may not work. There are no chargers for our byd dolphin within about 100 kms looking at many apps. Does anyone know the best way round this problem or have any tips. This will be our longest trip by miles since we bought it. The apps don't seem to work very well and I can't read Thai (wife can but doesn't drive). We're limited to ptt or pea chargers so far, as others won't work with my Bkk bank card. There are one or two MG chargers I've seen on the apps. Is it possible to open an account?
