I am taking my son (9) to Australia for a 3 week holiday but leaving Mum in Thailand. I have heard that there is some requirement - a letter from Mum - that needs to be presented at departure. Is this a myth? Does anybody have any experience with this situation?
-
My wife had a similar timeframe on our trip - we just decided to renew it - it took about 4 days and her new passport was in our letterbox.

Is this because lots of tourists were complaining about sand being walked into their hotel rooms?

Those wet waterways bring bad luck - make sure you buy an amulet if driving tourists around in a boat!

I guess nobody that thought it worth mentioning heard 3 gun shots in their condo. A month ago? TiT indeed.

One suspects there is more to this story.
There would have been a reason for cops to demand payment. Yes, police carry out random stop and searches but they don't ask for cash unless they find something.
What did police find on her or her friends?
I thought the same - a little 'evidence disappearance fee' and on your way. But I don't know why she would then go on social media about it? If you are a celeb, wouldn't you want it hushed. Or is she a celeb? Or a bad celeb? Are the police really that dodgy? so many questions......

Not surprised they caught her so quickly...those trousers sure would stand out in a crowd.
It looks like she is still in her pyjamas.

parents should put their phone number on school bags of kids using the school bus to prevent such upset in the event a child gets lost.
Not a very good school bus that doesn't deliver children home. Was it a public bus with a 6 yo child on it, or a 'school bus'? Very different questions raised.

Just so everybody knows - the Thai Airways office in the city is shut down. It has been for quite a while apparently. Obviously their website administrator has been laid-off with the update password!
One has to go to the airport office and yell your issue through a glass wall while check-in queues surround you. They have absolutely balls-up my family's holiday with flight time changes. As yet they are not forth coming with a solution - but did say I needn't leave the airport - I can just wait for 13 hours in Bangkok in transit for my connection ???? And then wait another 7 hours in Syd for the trains to start running.
Never again Thai Airways.

Brilliant website management.
Showing office with phone number.
"Number does not exist".
My guess: closed.
Airport office phone number rings.
But nobody answers it - what a disgraceful service they are providing me. Thanks for your reply.

Does anybody know if the Thai Airways office in town is open. The Thai website says yes but there phone is disconnected and google maps shows as permanently closed- nobody answering other numbers or emails.

But none by criminals Dah
I know what you mean BUT - a caveat to the anonymous surrender of guns in Australia was much harsher penalties for failure to surrender unlicensed weapons. Ultimately criminals will be criminals. At least some deadly weapons may be out of reach of those that probably shouldn't have access to them.

A good starting point would be for the government to have a 'hand in your guns' amnesty. No questions asked. A similar campaign in Australia some years back saw a staggering amount of guns surrendered.

There should be a whole fleet of those helicopters and water bomber planes.

Chiang Mai only has 'green' air when it is raining - which fortunately has been unseasonably happening this year. As soon as rain stops, and things dry out, the new fires start up again.

I suggest the government make electricity cheaper - then we would save money.

Chiang Mai teens seen vaping, sniffing glue in public in downtown

Yes, seems a ban on glue, alcohol, cigarette packs, e-cigarettes, provocative dances, school children, onlookers, playing in water and gathering near the old guard post is in order. If they had only smoked a joint - none of this would have happened.
