Go to Bumrungrad.
It will be empty.
No tests. Just see the doc, get the certificate (less than 700b)
It is accepted by MoL.
Yeah, done. 350 at Klaimor.

Find a different country to teach in or teach in the private sector.
Public schools are low pay and no respect. If you're willing to take a ration of **** from a school, at least get paid well. Saudi Arabia, Korea, Japan... It's a joke here. Speaking as a guy with three years of teaching under my belt. Never again in Thailand.Actually, I am teaching in the private sector and am paid well enough to be sustainable - not getting richer mind you! I have worked in the public sector too and agree the pay was terrible and certainly not something any experienced and qualified teacher should bother with unless they aren't in it for the money but more the pleasure of experiencing Thailand.
Anyway, the post really wasn't about salaries.

Hospitals are not full of coughing people in their waiting rooms. Least of all in the sections that do physical check ups.
if anything they are emptier than usual.
And no need to go to a hospital for a work permit physical, clinics can do them. Where in Thailand are you?
Chiang Mai - I guess my coughing people reference was more a precautionary concern to my point of having to go to one - I hope you are right. I feel I am wasting the time of our blessed frontline with nonsense. I am bound to the hospital as our school has a business account with them.

I may have developed a serious disease (like elehpantitis) since my visit last year but I'm pretty sure I'm good. Work permit time and more ridiculous procedures - am I being forced to jump through silly hoops (at expense) again in a time that only one disease seems pertinent. Am I being thrown into a hornets' nest by sitting in a waiting room of coughers. Yikes.

370 million and living in a rented apartment. Surely it is time to invest. Maybe an elite visa toboot. Something doesn't make sense here.

Saw 2 cars do this just today. One car must have been doing 140kph at least. Absolute nuthead and a danger to society. 1000 baht not enough

Perhaps it is time to get a whole lot more of these helicopters - at least ready for next year's burning season. Unless of course the government has already made plans to have the situation under control for next year in which case a few more submarines may be a better option for the money.

Now it seems even Germans are making Thai roads dangerous. What's the world coming to?!

Is there a fine for begging? Sounds paradoxical.

Obviously he thought that his idea was legit. Good luck in court!

Unless this is about a bill at the hospital being unpaid then I can see no reason why the hospital wouldn't just let his relatives have their wishes. Surely any 'identity' issue can be resolved later. Just sounds strange. Yes, I know TiT.

Approx 57 Billion baht on airport expansions - just seems to be an odd idea in these times.

Meanwhile in Chiang Mai today you can't see Doi Suthep through the air pollution. And this isn't even the 'official' smoke season. Nothing changes year after year, but it's good to know that we have finally worked out what is causing it.

saying that such workers are important to the Thai economy.
Now here is a relevation. Illigal workers are important are they? Is this just the trafficked ones or does it include teachers without work permits.

No doubt this Bird has flown the nest by now. No golden goose!

BA cutting Thailand on the Syd - London via bbk is interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if thats the end of it. Singapore the winner. Asian carriers will benefit in the long run. They still have Qantas as the One World provider on those legs though.

I'm surprised there is enough going on in Mae Sot to warrant 3 flights a day. What is going on there? Is this the new gateway to Burmese entertainment complexes?

Trickery will always be part of the marketing plan here, haggling over prices is part of the culture. You can't get away with it in the west - but here, 'everything' seems negotiable - until it comes to the supermarket counter apparently.

A bit too chilly for the swimsuit shoot. Shame - it could have been spectacular.

If they want to help Samui and boost domestic tourism they should allow other airlines to land there and create competitive and reasonable fare pricing.

One week 'naughty chair' for the lot of them.
My school is sending me to a hospital - seems the last place I want to go right now!
